狭山茶の主産地いるま。
約400ヘクタールの一面に広がる茶畑は全国的にも珍しく、八十八夜を過ぎる頃は一斉に一番茶の茶摘み光景が随所に見られます。
晩秋には赤富士と茶畑のコントラストが目をひきます。
なお、「茶の花」は市の花として指定されています。
