Good morning, this trip is to Kochi Prefecture! In March, I would like to travel in search of the first bonito that is in season! Arrived in Kochi! I was worried because the weather was bad in Tokyo, but I’m glad it’s sunny here! Well, it’s past 11:30 now, so let’s get hungry first… Let’s go eat lunch! I came to Hirome Market! This is a famous gourmet paradise in Kochi.The inside is like a street food street. First, make sure you have a seat… then let’s go buy some food! I guess it’s seared bonito! It’s grilled with straw to give it a hearty feel! Wow, so powerful…! It’s salt tataki! Here in Kochi, it seems like the norm is to eat with salt instead of sauce or ponzu sauce . Oh, it’s so delicious…! ! It’s so delicious that you’ll wonder what kind of seared bonito you’ve had before ! It was so delicious that I tried it from another restaurant and it was still delicious! ! It’s a little shocking… Kochi was terrifying… it was awesome! Thank you for the meal! ! The bonito was delicious… Now that we’re full, let’s go sightseeing! I came to Kochi Castle! Kochi Castle is right near Hirome Market where we had lunch , so Hirome Market → Kochi Castle Kochi Castle is one of the 12 existing castle towers, and the castle tower built in the Edo period still remains.Kochi Castle is also the only castle in Japan where all of the main buildings , including the castle tower and Honmaru Goten , still exist, and it is a very valuable castle that was designated as a national treasure in the past.Let ‘s go inside! Enter from Honmaru Palace and head towards the castle tower. Great view! The breeze feels nice… Kochi Castle allows you to go out to the corridor outside the castle tower , so you can enjoy the view from the castle tower to your heart’s content.It was a castle full of various features and was very fun to look at! Now, let’s head to Kochi Station to head to the next location ! Oh, this is the famous “Harimaya Bridge”, so let’s cross it! Arrived at Kochi Station! I came to Tosa Shrine! Tosa Shrine is a shrine located in Ikku-Shinane in the northeastern part of Kochi City, and is affectionately known locally as “Shinane-sama.” It is the first shrine in Tosa Province, and is a historic shrine that appears in the Nihon Shoki . It is also characterized by its special architectural style called “Iritonbo,” which was created by the chief priest who built this shrine. It is clear that Motochika Sokabe liked dragonflies as insects that bring good luck.The grounds are so spacious that it is quiet, and combined with the beauty of the shrine building, I felt a sacred atmosphere.Although it is a little far from the station, I am glad I went to this shrine.I am back in Kochi! I’m heading to my accommodation for the day.Today ‘s accommodation is “Riverside Hotel Matsue”. I like this type of inn.Let ‘s leave our luggage and go eat! On our first day in Kochi, we had dinner at Ichitsuri! The fish is just delicious and each dish is voluminous! What was especially amazing was this seared bonito platter! This bonito is so thick! It’s best to eat this with lots of condiments! There was also a lot of bonito, so I was completely full! Thank you for the meal!
