KYOTO Karasuma, Sanjyo Hello. It’s a pleasant season where the wind smells fragrant🍃Today , we will visit tea shops, antique shops, etc. for lunch around Karasuma, Kyoto. All of them are wonderful shops, so I’d be happy if you could enjoy them with me while you’re in the mood for a walk ☺ First, let’s visit a hidden salon in the back of an alley ☕ A salon run by a design office that produces catalogs for art exhibitions. You can enjoy coffee, tea, and beer at the cafe “Hiruandon”. Lots of pictorial records! It’s amazing… the aromatic coffee is an original blend. A space where jazz music flows and time flows slowly… I had a quality time in a comfortable and sophisticated space. It was delicious, thank you for the meal. Next, I headed to my favorite Japanese confectionery shop, “Norikatsu Kameya.” A long-established Japanese confectionery shop that you can enjoy with each season. After getting rid of the evil spirits with Boy’s Festival cake and Kashiwamochi , today’s lunch will be a bit more elegant with Kyoto Kaiseki. I’m looking forward to it ~ ♡ “Kyoto Ichinoden” is famous for Saikyo-zuke. On the second floor of the main store, you can enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine. A lovely room with beautiful stained glass. Expectations are high… The menu is a monthly course meal. Today, we will be having Satsuki’s gozen meal… we start with the colorful appetizers lined up on a plate with the letter “ichi” on it. You can feel the breath of fresh greenery and enjoy it with your eyes. I’m impressed by the richness and carefulness of each dish… a bowl that brings out the deliciousness of the ingredients to the fullest. This is also very delicious ~ the conger eel is plump. It’s so delicious that you can’t help but smile every time you bite into it. The main dish, “Gindarazo Misoyaki”, comes with rice cooked in a clay pot. (This rice was also sweet and exquisite…!) Beautifully grilled… (I don’t cook it very well at home, so it’s only possible at a specialty restaurant.) The meat was plump, and the miso was exquisite… It was the perfect deliciousness that made me proud of Japanese food! We received heartfelt hospitality and had a delicious and heart-filled time. The first floor is a merchandise corner. You can purchase the Saikyozuke etc. that I received earlier. Let’s buy it as a souvenir and take it home. I wonder if it will cook well☺It was delicious, thank you for the meal. We will stop by a long-established Kyoto Kinami store. You’re interested in this tea strainer, right? There are other items you might be interested in as well… It seems that you can also order the size. Next, we went to a tea shop. A store specializing in high quality Japanese tea. The staff are also kind and explain everything in detail. I was allowed to choose from matcha bowls lined up on a shelf. It’s great to have the tea served right in front of you.The delicious season of tea will stretch your spine.The sweets are rice cakes made with mugwort and pecan nuts. The tea strainer from Torii Wire Netting Crafts has a delicious smell of mugwort ! It’s really nice… fragrant tea. Take a breather… it goes very well with modern style rice cakes. This shop is a 4-story building that has been renovated, and the second floor is a gallery space with a tea room. Items by artists are lined up in a very modern space. The third floor was also lined with works by carefully selected artists and craftsmen from all over Japan. They seem to have been selected based on the concept of “creating beautiful things for everyday life.” The rust cloth work is by Keiko Murakami. It’s wonderful that each one has a different look… It’s great to be able to enjoy the works of various creators. It was delicious, thank you for the meal. I walked around the town for a while… This area isn’t that crowded, and there are a lot of nice shops, so it’s an attractive area♪ I found a delicious-looking bakery, so let’s stop by. A wide variety of breads… It seems that they use domestic wheat as the raw material and bake it in-house. Zen Kashoin is famous for “Zen Castella”. At the back is the attached “Gallery SUGATA.” Exhibitions of artists that Zenkashoin focuses on are being held based on the concept of “creating, attracting, and achieving the desired form” that is interesting and interesting. Well, today’s last stop is an antique shop that I wanted to visit… a shop that is also open at the Heian Flea Market. We have items from various countries such as Japan, China, and Europe. The Kyoto ware tableware is also wonderful… It’s a mix of items from various countries, but somehow they all harmonize, creating a space that warms your heart… Antiques are fun to encounter at the right time. thank you very much! Lastly, I would like to introduce the items I purchased… the artist’s works that I purchased from “YUGEN”. This bowl with a lovely powdery texture is the work of Fumihiko Koyamano. Yuichi Takemata’s spoons brightened the soft ivory-colored dining table . “Antique Basho” has balls with pop designs and expressive textures and elegant curves . At “Torii Wire Mesh Crafts”, I bought a tea strainer that I was really interested in ♪ It’s very easy to use and I highly recommend it! Thank you for watching! Hope to see you soon, have a nice day.
