石見神楽・大蛇（おろち）最終幕② 大蛇＠EXPOホール 大阪・関西万博 2025…Last act of the Iwami Kagura “Orochi”,Osaka-Kansai EXPO2025
大阪・関西万博のEXPOホール（Shining Hat）で行われた石見神楽の演目「大蛇（おろち）」の「最終幕 大蛇」の様子②（20秒）です。
大蛇は石見神楽の代表的な演目で、日本神話の英雄である須佐之男命（すさのおのみこと）の八岐大蛇退治を今に伝えています。
通常8体の大蛇で演技が行われるのですが、万博特別演出で55体の大蛇が登場しました。スケールの大きさやダイナミックさは圧巻でした。
本映像は「最終幕 大蛇」の一部です。須佐之男命が、木の実で醸した毒酒を飲ませ酔ったところを退治します。 そのとき、大蛇の尾から出た剣を『天の村雲の剣』（あめのむらくものつるぎ）と名づけ、天照大御神（あまてらすおおみかみ）に捧げます。

This is a clip from the final act of “Orochi” (The Great Serpent), a performance of Iwami Kagura held at the EXPO Hall (Shining Hat) at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.Kagura (神楽) is a traditional Japanese performing art that combines sacred music and dance to honor the Shinto gods.
Orochi is a representative performance of Iwami Kagura, depicting the legend of Susanoo-no-Mikoto, a hero from Japanese mythology, slaying the eight-headed serpent.
Typically performed with eight Orochi, this special Expo production featured 55 Orochi. The scale and dynamism were truly breathtaking.
This video shows a portion of the “Final Act: Orochi.” Susanoo no Mikoto defeats the Orochi after making it drink poisoned sake made from nuts and getting it drunk. At that moment, he names the sword that emerged from the serpent’s tail “Ame no Murakumo no Tsurugi” (Sword of the Heavenly Village Cloud) and offers it to Amaterasu Omikami (the Sun Goddess).
