⁴ᴷ Mie: Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station (三重県: 近鉄四日市駅) – Japan Walking Tour (March, 2025)
«Just like last month, I took the ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Moji Port in Kitakyushu City. From there, I crossed the Kanmon Strait back to Honshu and began my journey along the Seto Inland Sea, heading toward Tokyo.
The final stop of this trip was Yokkaichi City in Mie Prefecture. While there is a JR Yokkaichi Station, the city’s main hub is centered around Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station, and just walking through the arcade shopping street that stretches out from the station is enjoyable enough.
My last visit was on a Sunday, but this time I was finally able to come on a Saturday. Perhaps because of that, there were more people out drinking, and the city had a lively weekend atmosphere. That said, there weren’t too many people soliciting customers at the intersections, so it felt just right—bustling but still easy to walk around.

誰でも一目見て気が付くのが道路の汚さ。現在、四日市は近鉄駅前のリング状の「バスタ」という名の歩道橋建設です。ありたいことに三重交通のバスがなかり発達していて大変便利なのですが、そのバス停を整理して利便性を向上させようとする意図は分かりますがそれがバスタっていうのはどうにも理解しがたい。そもそも高齢者は歩道橋が大嫌いです。完成時はそこそこ利用あるかも知れませんが陸上の横断歩道を優先するのは明らかでしょう。これにかける金額はかなりのものでしょうが、それよりか駅前商店街の舗装をしなおすほうがイメージ的にもいいと思います。それとあれだけ駅前に露天の巨大駐車場を作るぐらいなら駐輪場も併設すべきです。そして商店街への自転車通行を全面禁止することでしょう。むろん障碍者高齢者は除外です。

自分もこの商店街の中にお店を構えてますが改めて見ると人通りは少なくなりましたね🥲
この駅も「ひのとり」を停車させるべき😅
去年転勤で四日市に行かされそうになったけど、四日市がどんな場所かわからなくて結局断ってしまった。
この動画にもっと早く出会えてたら、多分四日市行ってたなぁw
