米軍によるイランの核施設攻撃について、米国のトランプ大統領は２５日、第２次世界大戦時の広島と長崎への原爆投下になぞらえて、イスラエルとイランの間の「戦争を終結させた」と主張、攻撃を正当化した。この日はオランダ・ハーグを訪れており、北大西洋条約機構（ＮＡＴＯ）のマルク・ルッテ事務総長との会談と記者会見で２回発言した。ルッテ事務総長との会談では、イラン中部に核施設３か所に対して地下貫通型爆弾「バンカーバスター」を使った攻撃について「壊滅的な打撃を与えたはずだ。あの攻撃が戦争を終わらせた」と主張。そのうえで、「広島や長崎を例にしたくはないが、本質的には同じことだ」と述べた。記者会見では、攻撃の成果が不十分だったとの見方が米メディアから出ていることに対し、「（被害が）あまりにひどかったから、彼らは戦争をやめたんだ。壊滅的と言われる」と反論したうえで、「広島や長崎を見れば、戦争を終わらせたことに気付く。方法は違うが、壊滅的だったからだ」とし、兵器の威力と戦争の行方を結びつけるような発言をした：映像25日ロイター、ＡＰ 2025年6月30日公開
