【日本旅遊】兵庫県|我的故鄉!神戸の海辺を散歩しましょう~

A walk around Kobe. Hello everyone, I’m Yuka. Today I am in my hometown, Kobe. In September, I will be running a sightseeing tour called “YUGAKUHAN” for everyone to study Japanese. I’ve come to scout out the location for this purpose. Kobe is the capital of Hyogo Prefecture and is about 30 minutes by train from Osaka. Kobe is one of Japan’s leading port cities and has flourished as a hub for international trade. One of the great attractions of Kobe is that, despite being urban, it is blessed with a natural environment, close to the sea and mountains. Today, after taking a stroll around Sannomiya , Kobe ‘s downtown area, let’s hop on a bus and head towards the sea. This is Ikuta Shrine, one of the oldest shrines in Japan. This shrine is famous for granting blessings in finding love. Now, let’s have lunch before getting on the bus. Today I’m having lunch at this restaurant located under the elevated tracks at HANKYU Sannomiya Station. TOOTH TOOTH has several branches in Kobe city. Each branch has its own theme and offers different menu items. I ordered the pancake combo today. I enjoyed the meal. Now, let’s hop on the CITY LOOP bus and head towards the sea. CITY LOOP is a bus that travels around downtown Kobe. This bus has a lovely retro design not only on the outside but also inside. Sannomiya Shrine, which can be seen outside the window, is the shrine that gave the city of Sannomiya in Kobe its name. I arrived at MERIKEN Park. The fish statue you can see in the background is a work of art called “FISH DANCE.” FRANK GEHRY designed it. TADAO ANDO supervised it. It is a statue modeled after a carp. “MERIKEN” comes from “AMERICAN.” In the early Meiji period, the American consulate was located near the harbor. For this reason, this area was called “MERIKEN Wharf.” This area is now a staple tourist destination in Kobe, where you can enjoy shopping and sea cruises. It stands out beautifully against the blue sky and sea. The cruise ship is called LUMINOUS KOBE-2. From here we can board the cruise ship and tour Osaka Bay. During YUGAKUHAN in September, I went on a sunset cruise with everyone. Here’s what happened on the day. The classic way to enjoy the night view of Kobe is to look down on it from Mt. Rokko. But it’s also nice to see it from the sea like this. The bridge you can see in the distance is AKASHI KAIKYO BRIDGE. It is a large bridge that connects Awaji Island on the left to the city of Kobe. So let’s continue walking around this area. The weather is really nice today. This is PORT OF KOBE EARTHQUAKE MEMORIAL PARK. Materials relating to the Great Hanshin Earthquake, which occurred on January 17, 1995, are on display here. Some areas still retain their original appearance, such as cracked concrete and warped streetlights. That day, I was at home in Kobe with my family. Luckily, all my family members were safe. However, 6,432 people died in the earthquake. After elementary school classes resumed, I went to class for the first time in a long time. A girl from my class ran up to me and said, “I’m glad you’re alive.” I will never forget the way she hugged me then. Having experienced the earthquake, I feel like one of my themes has become “living each day to the fullest and without regrets.” This is a set of photographs and maps showing what Kobe Port looked like in the past and present. Were there beaches like this in Kobe Port? Although it does look like SUMA Beach. What was it actually like? The atmosphere of the former Kobe Port is completely different from what it is today. Somehow, it seems a lot more lively back then. I’ve walked a lot, so I’ll take a break at that STARBUCKS over there. The view from the second floor of this Starbucks is amazing. If you have the opportunity, please go there. The weather is really nice today, so the views are amazing. Time flies as I watch the boats going by and the sunlight reflecting off the water. It seems that preparations for the Bon Odori festival are underway today. Bon Odori is a traditional event held around mid-August every year across the country. People circle around and dance to the beat of drums and singing. It is one of the defining characteristics of summer in Japan. Does this happen every year? The afternoon sun is getting very strong. I’ll be home soon. I’m back in Sannomiya. To the north of the city of Kobe are mountains and to the south is the sea. The mountains in particular can be seen from anywhere in the city. People who live in Kobe always think of the direction where the mountains are as north. If you ever lose your bearings and can’t tell which way is north, just look for a mountain. A sign in the Daimaru department store says mountain side and sea side instead of north and south. I’m about to head back to Tokyo on the Shinkansen from Shin-Kobe Station. Mt. Rokko is to the north of this station. The night view from the top of this mountain is said to be worth 10 million dollars. This is a popular tourist spot that offers views not only of Kobe city but also all the way to Osaka. Well, that’s it for today’s video. Thank you for watching this video. See you in the next video.

  1. 我的梦想就是,去和歌山的海边生活,买台摩托车,晚上去业务超市 买50%🈹的便当,买两盒,一盒不够吃,在停车场 站着吃,吃完再找个别人看不见的地方 点根烟!

  2. I was eating while listening to the video. Towards the end I heard Mandarin and thought it was a commercial. Then I looked up and wow Yuka's Chinese is so awesome. Amazing. I'm blown away.
