【山梨観光】絶対行くべき人気観光スポット20選を紹介!!
Introducing 20 popular tourist spots in Yamanashi Prefecture. This video explores the charms of Yamanashi, a city easily accessible within a two-hour drive from Tokyo . From breathtaking views of the World Heritage Site Mt. Fuji to delicious local cuisine, we’ll introduce 20 model itineraries with efficient routes to create unforgettable memories . Please use this as a reference when planning your trip to Yamanashi . Let’s get straight to the point. First up is Lake Yamanaka, the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes. Nagaike Waterside Park, at an elevation of approximately 1,000 meters. Located on the lakeside, Nagaike Park offers a great vantage point for viewing the inverted Mt. Fuji. Early mornings and windless days are ideal, so be sure to visit this spot first. Additionally, for four months from October to February, you can see Diamond Fuji at sunset. If there’s no wind, you might even be able to see Double Diamond Fuji, reflecting on the lake surface . This spot is a popular spot for photography enthusiasts. The majestic natural contrast between Mt. Fuji, the lake, and the sky is truly beautiful. Next up from Lake Yamanaka is Lake Yamanakako Myojinyama Panorama Observatory. It’s about 300 meters higher than Nagaike Waterfront Park, which we mentioned earlier, so even if you can’t see Mt. Fuji from the lakeside, you’re more likely to see it from here. Panorama Deck sometimes offers a clear view of Mt. Fuji, rising above the clouds. While I couldn’t see it from the lakeside on the day I visited, I was able to see it with fewer clouds from here. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to see Mt. Fuji. It’s also a popular driving course, and the expansive scenery is simply breathtaking. The Nijumagari Pass Observation Terrace, near Oshino Hakkai, is also a hidden gem for viewing Mt. Fuji, even with its sky-colored sky. The expansive Oshino Hakkai lakes below, and the majestic Mt. Fuji towering beyond, are truly picturesque. If the weather is favorable, you can enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji to your heart’s content from either observation deck. Oshino Hakkai offers a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji’s underground waters, springing forth from the ground. It’s designated a natural monument and a World Heritage Site as part of the Mt. Fuji complex . Oshino Hakkai is the collective name for eight mystical ponds. The crystal-clear pond, filled with pure water filtered over many years from the melting snow of Mount Fuji, offers a clear view of the pond’s bottom. Surrounding the pond are rows of thatched-roof houses, evoking a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of Japan’s original landscape. The surrounding area is home to numerous souvenir shops, perfect for purchasing local specialties and local delicacies, or enjoying a delicious meal. The beautiful scenery, which changes with the seasons, is sure to captivate visitors. Why not spend a moment of healing surrounded by the beautiful flowing waters and abundant nature, cleansing your soul? Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine boasts a history of over 1,900 years. It is a designated World Heritage Site as one of the components of Mount Fuji . It also serves as the starting point for the Fuji climbing trails and plays an important role as a place of prayer for peace of mind, symbolizing worship at Mount Fuji . The shrine grounds are dotted with numerous points of interest. The first thing that catches your eye is Japan’s largest wooden torii gate, its imposing presence sure to take your breath away. Purify your body and mind at the chozuya (purification fountain) before proceeding to the majestic worship hall. Don’t miss the Fuji Taro Cedar, over 1,000 years old, and the Fuji Fufu Hinoki, nestled like a married couple. These majestic sacred trees quietly watch over history. There are also many other Important Cultural Properties worth seeing. Be sure to visit this majestic site, the center of worship for the World Heritage Site of Mount Fuji. Fuji-Q Highland is known as a treasure trove of thrilling attractions. From thrilling rides to family-friendly rides, this theme park is fun for all ages. Access is easy, with many express buses running from the Kawaguchiko Interchange just off the Tokyo exit . Of particular note is the world-class, terrifying FUJIYAMA. At 79 meters tall and boasting a top speed of 130 km/h, it boasts some of the world’s fastest speeds. The overwhelming height, speed, and breathtaking views of Mount Fuji offer an extraordinary experience. Furthermore, admission became free in 2018, making it accessible even for those not planning on taking part in the attractions. This makes it a great place for family members, souvenir hunters, or those simply looking to enjoy the park’s atmosphere. From within the park, you can enjoy the majestic Mount Fuji and other beautiful scenery. It’s the perfect place for those looking for a full day of fun . Lake Kawaguchiko is particularly popular among the Fuji Five Lakes, bustling with tourists every day. Lake Kawaguchiko has many attractions, and we’ll introduce some spots that truly capture its charm . The first is the Tenka sightseeing boat, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Kawaguchiko from the water. The boat is designed to resemble the red armor of the Kai Takeda army, and the 20-minute cruise makes you feel like you’re aboard a Takeda army ship . You can fully enjoy the majesty of Lake Kawaguchiko and the beauty of Mount Fuji. Nearby, you’ll also find the popular Fujiyama Cookies, perfect as a souvenir . The golden-baked dough has a crispy texture that melts in your mouth. You can enjoy these premium cookies with the deep, gentle flavor that is the essence of cookies . Next, we’ll take you to the Mount Fuji Panorama Ropeway. We just enjoyed sightseeing from the lake, but this time we’ll enjoy the view of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji from the mountain. It’s just a short three-minute walk from the sightseeing boat we took earlier . It takes about three minutes to reach the summit of Tenjozan, 1,075 meters above sea level . If you want to enjoy both, we recommend purchasing a ticket package that combines it with the Tenpei Ropeway . As you ascend in the ropeway gondola, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Kawaguchi and the Kawaguchiko Bridge below . The contrast between Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi from Tenjozan Park at the summit is truly spectacular. A short climb leads to the Kachi Kachi Mountain Swing. It’s an exhilarating experience, as if you’re jumping into a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji towering before you . There’s also a heart-shaped bell on the ceiling overlooking Mt. Fuji. It’s said that if you ring the bell with a wish in mind, your wish will come true. Why not enjoy the view from the ropeway while sightseeing around Lake Kawaguchi ? Local Yamanashi Prefecture souvenirs and gourmet food. A popular new spot in Lake Kawaguchi, Tabi no Eki Kawaguchiko Base offers a wide range of sophisticated and attractive products, including Yamanashi Prefecture’s specialty products and crafts, as well as souvenirs with a Mt. Fuji motif . When we asked the store manager about the most popular item, he said that the Bang Bang Corn Snack was the best recommendation. The soft serve ice cream here is also popular. Take your time and enjoy choosing a souvenir to remember your trip . Oishi Park, located on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi, This park boasts a stunning view of Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi, and seasonal flowers . Enjoying this magnificent view for free is a wonderful experience. It’s a recommended spot to stop by for a break from driving . In spring, nemophila flowers paint the lake blue. Lavender is at its peak from June to July , creating a stunning contrast between the purple carpet and Lake Kawaguchi. In autumn, kochia flowers turn red, painting the lakeside crimson. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as various flowers bloom throughout the year . Right next door is the Fuji Oishi Flower Terrace, a complex featuring Yamanashi Prefecture’s leading shops . Enjoy a variety of unique shops, including cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops using local ingredients . Enjoy dining and shopping while admiring the beautiful scenery. Oishi Park is a must-see spot in Kawaguchiko. Lake Sai, the fourth largest of the Fuji Five Lakes, is a mystical lake surrounded by the Aokigahara Jukai forest. Its deep, indigo blue color is second only to Lake Motosu in transparency . Located on Lake Saiko’s west shore, Nembahama Beach is a tranquil and beautiful beach. From here, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the clear lake and the majestic Mount Fuji. The sky and lake sparkle, creating a truly magical sight, especially at sunrise and sunset . Camping is also available, making it ideal for those looking to relax in nature. Near Nembahama is Lake Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba, a recreation of a thatched-roof village. Experience traditional crafts and dine on locally sourced ingredients amidst a pristine Japanese landscape . The sight of the rows of thatched-roof houses against the backdrop of Mount Fuji is like stepping back in time. Lake Saiko is recommended for those who wish to fully appreciate the beauty of nature. The Fuji Air Cave and Narusawa Ice Cave, shrouded in mystery in the Aokigahara Jukai forest , are precious natural creations formed by lava flows from Mount Fuji’s eruptions . The Fujiketsu Wind Cave is a horizontal cavern with a total length of 201 meters. The cave is relatively flat, making it easy to walk through, even for children. Just descending a few steps will instantly give you a cool, refreshing feeling. Even in summer, the average temperature is 3°C, and beautiful ice pillars and stalagmites can be seen year-round. The tour takes approximately 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the Narusawa Ice Cave is a vertical cavern with a total length of 153 meters. This cave features many stairs and narrow spaces, giving it a more adventurous feel, but you should be careful where you step. The Narusawa Ice Cave is also open year-round. You can see ice stalagmites and ice ponds. For those less physically fit, Fujiketsu is recommended. For those who want to visit both, there are discounted combination tickets available. For a casual cave experience, Fujiketsu Wind Cave is recommended. For thrills and a sense of exploration, Narusawa Ice Cave is recommended. Lake Shojiko offers the beautiful scenery known as “Fuji with a Child in its Arms.” While the smallest of the Fuji Five Lakes, its tranquility and beautiful scenery are captivating. From the lakeside beach, Mount Omuro, visible in front of Mount Fuji, resembles a child, making it a scenic spot for viewing the “Child-Embracing Fuji. ” Lake Shojiko was discovered by a British mountaineer during the Meiji period, claiming it to be the most beautiful lake in the world. It became popular with foreign visitors after being introduced to the world as the “Switzerland of the East .” On calm, windless days, Mount Shojiko offers a spectacular view of Mount Fuji reflected upside down on the lake’s surface. The mirror-like reflection of Mount Fuji on the lake’s surface in the clear early morning air is a popular spot for photography enthusiasts. Lake Shojiko is also famous as a mecca for canoeing, hosting national canoeing competitions. Lake Shojiko is recommended for those seeking a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and a taste of nature. Lake Motosu, the westernmost of the Fuji Five Lakes, was the inspiration for Mount Fuji depicted on the back of the old 1,000-yen and 5,000-yen bills . Lake Motosu Observation Park is the very spot that inspired the bill. The photo is based on “Spring by the Lake” taken by photographer Momiji Okada, who spent his life pursuing Mount Fuji . This photo, with its beautiful harmony between Mount Fuji and Lake Motosu, has been highly praised and adopted as a symbol of Japanese beauty . Lake Motosu is known for being particularly clear among the Fuji Five Lakes, and the view from here is truly breathtaking, a sight that could be considered the origin of the “inverted Fuji” image. The majestic Mount Fuji reflected in the crystal-clear lake’s surface. Be sure to see this iconic Japanese landscape for yourself. This is a famous Yamanashi confection. Visit Kikyo Shingen Mochi Theme Park to see the manufacturing process of Shingen Mochi . You can see how the familiar Shingen Mochi is made up close, inside the factory, where you can get a taste of it for yourself. Inside the factory, you can purchase Shingen Bo at a reasonable price . Another popular attraction is the all-you-can-eat sweets event. This event is held daily and applies to products close to their expiration date. A full bag full of sweets costs an astonishing 220 yen. It’s so popular that numbered tickets are distributed. This event, which stimulates the spirit of adventure, will captivate children and adults alike. There’s also a factory direct sales shop where you can taste freshly baked Shingen Mochi, making it a great place to pick up souvenirs. Even if you’re not a Shingen Mochi fan , this sweet and fun theme park is a must-visit. Kofu Station is the main gateway to Yamanashi tourism. The first thing you’ll see upon stepping out of the station is the majestic statue of Takeda Shingen, a famous general of the Warring States period. It serves as a powerful symbol of Kofu, welcoming visitors. The area around Kofu Station is also a great place to find gourmet food and souvenirs . The station building Celeo Kofu and the commercial complex adjacent to the station are lined with numerous restaurants and shops offering delicious local dishes and specialties , including Yamanashi’s famous hoto noodles . Just a short walk from the station is Maizuru Castle Park, the site of Kofu Castle, once built by Shingen’s father, Takeda Shintora . Remnants of the original stone walls and moats dot the area, evoking the romance of the Warring States period. The park has been developed as a place of relaxation for local residents and is a popular cherry blossom viewing spot in spring. The area around Kofu Station is a condensed version of Kofu’s charm , offering a chance to savor the flavors of Yamanashi and enjoy historical strolls. It’s definitely worth a visit. Takeda Shrine enshrines Takeda Shingen, a warlord from the Sengoku period. Built on the site of the Tsutsujigasaki Mansion, where three generations of the Kai Takeda clan—Nobutora, Shingen, and Katsuyori—reside, Shingen is the enshrined deity. Crossing the vermilion bridge into the shrine grounds, you’ll find a solemn atmosphere, with parts of the original moat and stone walls still remaining. The shrine is also worshipped as a god of victory, attracting many worshippers. Right next to Takeda Shrine is the Takeda Mansion Ruins Otemon East Ruins Park, where the beautiful lotus pond blooms in summer, delighting visitors with its magnificent flowers. And right in front of Takeda Shrine is the Shingen Museum, which provides an easy-to-understand introduction to the history and culture of the Takeda clan and the life of Shingen. Additionally, the restaurant “Yufuhime,” located next to the museum, is highly recommended as it offers the flavors of Yamanashi at reasonable prices. Yamanashi specialties like hoto and tempura soba are perfect for lunch. The hoto, packed with plenty of vegetables like taro and pumpkin, was very satisfying. The tempura soba was also delicious. Takeda Shrine offers a immersive experience of history and gourmet food, making it a must-see spot for any Yamanashi tourist. Kai Zenkoji Temple, founded by Takeda Shingen, is about an eight-minute drive from Takeda Shrine. Kai Zenkoji Temple’s origins date back to Takeda Shingen’s fear of the destruction caused by the Battle of Kawanakajima at Zenkoji Temple in Nagano, when he moved the head priest and even the monks to Kofu. The main hall, designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan, is similar in both design and size to Zenkoji Temple in Nagano. Kai Zenkoji Temple is characterized by its vermilion lacquer. Seeing it up close is awe-inspiring, and a truly majestic experience. The two dragons painted on the ceiling of the main hall, the largest in Japan, resonate when visitors clap their hands, creating a sound called “Nakiryu” (crying stream) . They are beloved by worshippers. This temple is of great historical value, housing numerous cultural artifacts dating back to the Heian period . Kai Zenkoji Temple is a place where you can experience history and faith. Shosenkyo Gorge is one of Japan’s three great valleys and a designated national special scenic spot. It was selected as the most beautiful valley in Japan among the 100 best tourist destinations in Japan. Shosenkyo’s greatest attraction is its main peak, Kakuenbo. The approximately 180-meter vertical cliff rises majestically as the symbol of Shosenkyo. Senga Falls, located at the very back of Shosenkyo , boasts a 30-meter drop and its powerful, gushing waters create a refreshing sensation , making it especially recommended for summer sightseeing. The stone gate, made of gigantic granite, has a slightly separated tip, creating a thrilling formation. From the Shosenkyo Ropeway, you can gaze upon the majestic Arakawa Dam below, and enjoy the changing mountain scenery, including beautiful autumn foliage depending on the season . From the floating plaza at the top of the ropeway, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. Access: On weekdays, you can drive to the ropeway terminal, but on weekends and holidays, you’ll need to use the shuttle bus. Since walking the entire Shosenkyo Gorge course takes approximately three hours, it’s more efficient to take the shuttle bus from the parking lot below to the top and then descend to explore the various landmarks. The magnificent natural scenery is truly a must-see. The Yatsugatake Kogen Ohashi Bridge offers spectacular views of the Yatsugatake Mountains. This 100-meter-high, 490-meter-long yellow bridge spans the Kawamata River Valley . To view the entire bridge, head to the observation deck parking lot on the Kiyosato Station side. From here, you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama of the majestic Yatsugatake Mountains to the north, the Southern Alps to the southwest , and Mount Fuji to the south . The view from the bridge is even more spectacular. In autumn, the mountains in the foreground turn vibrant reds and yellows, making it a perfect vantage point for viewing the stunning autumn foliage. Enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the seasons. It’s truly a spectacular view from the sky. Seisenryo is a classic spot in Kiyosato. It’s a tourist spot dotted with cafes, restaurants, and farms amidst vast forests and pastures . Accommodation is also available. Cows welcome you at the farm shop. The soft-serve ice cream, made with plenty of Jersey milk, is a popular treat. Its rich, full-bodied flavor is truly exquisite. The shop also sells fresh vegetables and dairy products grown at Seisenryo, as well as local specialties. Why not spend some time in the refreshing air of the Kiyosato Plateau ? Did you enjoy the many charms of Yamanashi we’ve introduced ? The majesty of Mount Fuji, a World Heritage Site? The sparkling, pure lakes? Historic townscapes? And heartwarming local cuisine.
