Hello everyone! This is Naru! A city of ‘kuidaore’ (eating until you drop) and comedy, we’ve come to Osaka! Osaka Prefecture consists of the “Osaka City Area,” “Northern Area,” “Eastern Area,” and “Southern Area,” making up four distinct areas! The heart of Osaka tourism! The Osaka that everyone imagines, “THE Osaka,” is all gathered here. There are five main districts: Kita, Minami, the Bay Area, Tennoji, and Osaka Castle. There are five main districts! In the Kita area, there’s the “Umeda Sky Building.” In the Minami area, there’s “Dotonbori,” famous for the Glico sign. In the Bay Area, you’ll find “Universal Studios Japan” and “Kaiyukan Aquarium.” In the Tennoji area stands Osaka’s symbol, the “Tsutenkaku Tower.” And in the Osaka Castle area is “Osaka Castle,” built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. “Nakazakicho” and “Tenma” in the Kita area, and “Minoh City” in the Northern area. Nakazakicho miraculously escaped the air raids of World War II, preserving its wooden architecture from the Taisho to early Showa periods. It’s a precious townscape that remains today. Old folk houses, some over 120 years old, have been reborn as stylish cafes and galleries. Despite being just a 15-minute walk from Umeda, it feels as if time has stopped, allowing you to experience a downtown atmosphere. Tenma is a temple town that developed around the Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, founded in 949. At 2.6km, it’s Japan’s longest Japan’s longest covered shopping street, the Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street. In the back alleys known as “Ura-Tenma,” standing bars line the streets, loved by the locals, where a day-drinking culture has taken root. And Minoh is a treasure trove of nature, just a 30-minute train ride from the city center. A treasure trove of nature. Minoh Falls, with a drop of 33 meters, is selected as one of Japan’s top 100 waterfalls. Especially the autumn foliage is among the most beautiful in the Kansai region. About access. Tokyo to Shin-Osaka is as fast as 2 hours and 30 minutes. Nagoya to Shin-Osaka is about 50 minutes. Osaka has two main terminals: Shin-Osaka Station and Osaka (Umeda) Station. The Shinkansen (bullet train) arrives at Shin-Osaka Station. Shin-Osaka Station to Osaka Station is about 5 minutes by train. The shop’s interior has such cute colors. Everything looks so delicious, it’s hard to decide! Delicious! So crispy! The slightly firm texture is delicious! Free refills on hot coffee! (During morning service time) It’s smooth and easy to drink! The cafe was great, wasn’t it! It was really good! It was super stylish, and… it was cheap, too! That’s true! The candy we bought is cute too, so let’s eat it later. It’s so cute! I don’t know what kind of monster it is, but… it was love at first sight! Well then, shall we go explore the town? It looks like there’s an old townscape remaining, so let’s go check it out. Walking through the back alleys is so much fun♪ A shrine in a place like this! Being in front of a shrine gives me a sacred feeling! There are so many stylish cafes and hair salons! There’s a cute one over there! A shop run by a single owner! The interior has a retro vibe! Time for some Taco Rice! This is a pretty big portion! Delicious! It’s a little spicy, but… the acidity of the tomatoes is so good! Plenty of meat, too. The atmosphere is great, too. I like it.🙆♀️ It’s good that you get some vegetables, too. The noodles are fresh pasta! It had a chewy texture and was delicious♪ Is this “Oideyasu-dori”? What does “oideyasu” mean? “Oideyasu” means “Welcome.” What? You didn’t know? I guess I never really thought about it. I thought it meant something like “Thank you!” So it’s like “Welcome Street”? Yeah! That’s right! Shall we go to Welcome Street? You mean Oideyasu-dori! There are a lot of cafes and long-established shops! There are! Lots of restaurants over here, too. And a lot of hair salons, as expected! I wonder if Osaka is a battleground for hair salons? There certainly were a lot! It feels like everyone is welcoming us! Haha. It’s got that “Oideyasu!” feel! Oideyasu… Huh? What? What did you say? You ignored me again… lol. The work of a master!! This takoyaki looks so good! It’s freshly made, so it’s piping hot. Would it be bad to eat it in one bite? I have a feeling it would be. So hot~! Are you okay? Is it bad? You’ll burn yourself! It’s crispy and fluffy, so delicious! You can really taste the dashi broth! Fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The kind you can’t make at home. It’s best to eat it while it’s piping hot! Are you going for it again? You haven’t learned your lesson! It’s delicious when you eat it piping hot. 🙆♀️ We’re at Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street! They say this is the longest shopping street in Japan. It stretches on for an incredible distance! It’s crowded, too! There are all sorts of shops, so let’s check them out! Just off the main arcade, there are shops full of character! Even a little off the shopping street, it’s still retro. It has a great atmosphere. It’s incredibly crowded. It’s only around 3 PM, but the shops are already open and everyone’s already drinking. It’s cheap, too. Nice. Was it 3 yen or 9 yen? The tuna! It’s way too cheap! Isn’t this place great? This place has an amazing atmosphere! Ura-Chochin-dori (Back Lantern Street). There are so many lanterns. It makes for great pictures! There’s no end in sight! It’s a truly long shopping street. There’s a torii gate suspended in the sky! The shopping street continues all the way to our destination, Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. Osaka Tenmangu Shrine is famous as the shrine of the god of learning, enshrining Sugawara no Michizane, and is one of the three great Tenjin shrines in Japan! Despite being struck by seven major fires since the Edo period, the people of Osaka protected it at the risk of their lives, saying, “We can’t let our Tenjin-san burn.” It is truly a sacred place cherished by the common people! We’ve come to Hoshiai Pond, near Osaka Tenmangu Shrine! There are a lot of turtles. How many of those turtles are real? Maybe eight? I think it’s eight! Only the one in the middle looks different. That one looks like a statue! There are so many turtles. Look at the turtles swimming. I’ve never seen so many swimming like this. They’re raising their heads. They must be asking for food. Should we do that? The money thing? Not money! What was it? You throw a “wish ball” at the plum blossom target, and if it lands on a petal, your wish will come true! Center: Fulfillment of all wishes. So, should we do it? I’ll aim for the middle. It’s hard. It ends up like this. Like this… Like this, right? Either way is fine, isn’t it? Ready? Yep. Like this. That was way off… 😂 It’s surprisingly difficult! Did it not land on it? It landed but slipped off. What! This is seriously hard. My control was terrible. 😂 Back to Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street for dinner! When you think of Osaka, you think of Kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers)! No double-dipping in the sauce! 🙅♀️ The Doteyaki (beef sinew stew) is delicious too! Let’s check out one more place! Salmon Cream Cheese. Delicious! The sushi and the red miso soup are both so good! The red miso soup is amazing! Isn’t red miso soup with egg unusual? It is unusual! You don’t see it very often. Delicious! The lively atmosphere feels very Osaka-like! A sushi restaurant inside the shopping street. Is it a good value? I wonder. Yeah! It probably is. 🙆♀️ The toppings are big, right? It’s like small rice, big toppings! It was 5,000 yen for the two of us to eat until we were full! A hotel in a great location, just a 5-minute walk from JR Osaka Station. In the hotel lounge, from 6 AM to 10 PM, from coffee to wine and even ochazuke (rice with tea), they offer a full range of excellent complimentary services at different times of the day. A calm and relaxing room. Besides the shower in the room, you can also use the large public bath. Heading to Grand Green Osaka! This is a huge metropolis. I can’t even lift my head high enough. You have to look all the way up to see the tops! You have to look up so much it hurts your neck. Even though we’re surrounded by buildings, it’s amazing that there’s a green space. A park! This is wonderful design! It makes you realize just how many people are here! There are as many people as there are lights! This large complex, directly connected to Osaka Station, was created by redeveloping the former freight yard site in front of the station. The greenery is so calming. The night view is reflected on the water’s surface, too! The color of the Hankyu Railway trains is so cute! Today, we’ve come to Minoh City! Osaka-Umeda to Minoh Station
Approx. 20 min / ¥280 Today, I want to enjoy nature, so we’ll climb the mountain behind me and head towards Minoh Great Falls! It’s about a 40-minute walk to Minoh Great Falls. 🚶♀️ It’s cool, isn’t it? It’s really cool. In the shade, the breeze blows through, and it’s incredibly cool. This is nature for you! I didn’t realize it was this cool in the forest! I can hear the sound of a river flowing, too. I wonder if it’s flowing from the waterfall? I didn’t know Osaka had places like this! Myaku-Myaku is even here! The sound of the river is so soothing. We’ll stop by Ryuanji Temple! It’s so beautiful. This is the view from above Ryuanji Temple. It was the “Main Hall, Benten-do”! With the autumn leaves, it’s a beautiful shrine with lovely light! It enshrines what is said to be the first and oldest Benzaiten in Japan. Let’s pray for more money! Lol. There are many tea houses along the way! Amazing! I’m shocked! The drop is pretty high, isn’t it? It’s huge. How many meters do you think the drop is? About 60. The drop is 33m, one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls. Yamabushi (mountain ascetics) were here to worship! The waterfall is so powerful! It was more amazing than I expected! When we got closer, the sound was incredible, and… I felt the negative ions! The waterfall basin was pretty big, too! The path here wasn’t very difficult, was it? It doesn’t even take an hour. And it’s quite cool here, isn’t it? It was really cool! It was cool even wearing a thin cardigan! The maple leaves are beautiful, too. It must be amazing during the autumn foliage season. I bet it’s incredibly beautiful. Well, shall we head back? We’ll have some lunch before we go back♪ From the terrace seats, you can enjoy the sound of the river♪ Delicious! Plenty of rice and meat! Thank you for watching!

Naru-san, the same thing happens to me every time I eat takoyaki. I know its very dangerously hot and I should wait, but I dont wait, because its so good when its really warm, and then I of course burn my mouth….. 🙂.
I very much enjoyed your video and liked to see different parts of Osaka. However, personally, I am not a big fan of Osaka. I dont dislike it, but I just find almost every city in Japan "better" than Osaka. There is great food, there are nice night lights, but I get that in Tokyo (especially in Shinjuku) as well. And there I can add so many sights, shinto shrines, museums, experiences etc. – which I cant do in Osaka. Maybe I dont have visited the right places in Osaka yet ?
P.S. Minoh Falls looks stunning, thank you for sharing this place with us.
