I took a commemorative photo with a maiko at a Hotel Resol Shijo Muromachi hotel event. The third night of my four-night, five-day trip to Kyoto was at Hotel Resol Shijo Muromachi. This time, I used a shareholder discount coupon to stay at three Resol Group hotels in Kyoto City. To keep the price within the same range, I added options to the other hotels, bringing the room rate for all hotels, including breakfast, to around 14,000 yen. Also, for the September event, all three hotels held maiko events. After watching the maiko dance, I participated in a photo session. For hotel events, I will provide links to their official websites in the description section. However, the Sanjo hotel did have a maiko event, although it wasn’t listed on its website. I recommend checking with the hotel about event details before your stay. Please also refer to the chapter list in the description section . Access: The hotel is closest to Shijo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line. It is a five-minute walk from Shijo Station. Exit 6 is close, but only has stairs. There is an elevator at Exit 4. It’s just two stops from Kyoto Station on the Karasuma Subway Line. Shijo Station is conveniently located at the intersection with Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line. The Hankyu Line offers easy access to Gion and Arashiyama. The popular Nishiki Market arcade is also a 13-minute walk away. After checking out of Hotel Resol Trinity Kyoto, I arrived at Shijo Station by train. I dropped off my luggage there first. The front desk is on the first basement floor. Of the three Resol hotels in Kyoto, this one had the most relaxing lobby, with a very relaxing furniture arrangement and lighting. I checked in around 4:30 PM. I booked the “Kimono-themed stroll around Kyoto, perfect for a stroll in a kimono . Enjoy a hands-free stroll in a yukata or kimono with breakfast included” plan with Okamoto’s rental kimono rental service. It was easy; I simply returned the kimono to the hotel the next morning. While there’s usually a fee for returning the kimono at the hotel, it was free. This is the Gion branch. There’s a Japanese-style garden, so you can take commemorative photos in a kimono. All set to depart! Whoosh. What are they doing? This is where the maiko dance today. There are tourist brochures, vending machines, and ice machines. There ‘s also a microwave. Coffee and tea are available here. The smoking area is at the back. You can pick up your own amenities here, in front of the elevator. The laundry is at the back. There are also two baskets for taking your belongings back to your room. Take the elevator. I head to my room on the fifth floor. This five-story hotel is compact. Because of that, there aren’t many people, so it’s quiet and peaceful. They speak slowly, so I can understand even at double speed. My room was far from the elevator. But it was a corner room. I tapped my open card key. It’s nice that the lights are on from the start. My first impression was that it was similar to Trinity Kyoto. I was staying alone, but there were two beds. I tried to sleep in the middle, but the bed kept moving away and I fell into the gap, so it was impossible. The room was small, with all the beds, but it was enough for one person. There was a chair and a table by the window. Like Trinity Kyoto, the bedside lamps are lovely and Japanese-style. There’s a Japanese-style lamp here, too. There are electric blinds, just like at Trinity Kyoto. There are two hangers next to the entrance. There’s also deodorizing spray. Under the chair and table by the window, there’s tissues, etc. There’s a hair dryer and charging cable. There’s a chair, a table, and another chair. There ‘s a laundry bag and Kyoto magazines. I think the ones at Trinity Kyoto were the same ones. Pajamas. Separate types. There are two bottles of water. There’s also a kettle. Keep it chilled in the refrigerator downstairs. Kyoto is really hot in the summer, so I ran out of water and bought a sports drink from a vending machine in town. Incidentally, this is the vending machine in the Chion-in Temple shop. When you buy a drink, a Buddhist chant plays. This hotel also has a matcha set. The shape of the tea whisk is different from that at Trinity Kyoto. Because the table is narrow, I took the photo with my left hand and made tea with my right. Use a small amount of water, and if it’s too strong, you can dilute it later . It was difficult to do this because you’re sitting sideways. Enjoy your tea while admiring the tea utensils. Bathroom shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and hand soap are provided. Good night. Maiko Event : In September, Hotel Resol Shijo Muromachi held a maiko event near the front desk from 4:50 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. The maiko danced two songs to the Gion Kouta ♪Darari no Obi no ♪ song , and afterward, you could take photos with the maiko. The hairpins, obi, kimono, and obi clasps were all gorgeous. Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast venue was Il Chianti, an Italian-style restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. It was before 7 AM, so it wasn’t open yet. The open breakfast was a buffet, but you could choose one of four sandwiches to order. After much deliberation, I decided on a banh mi, something I’d never tried before. GO! Rosemary potato salad, chicken, mushroom saute, lettuce , purple cabbage, pea sprouts, red radish , braised eggplant, cucumber, Hokkaido corn, Gold Rush butter, soy sauce, grapefruit and orange , banana , tomato , corn dressing , Chianti dressing , mozzarella cheese and ham , cold potato soup , freshly boiled spaghetti. Polpettini, steamed mussels in white wine , all-you-can-drink red and white wine from the morning. Freshly made French toast, pound cake , yogurt and fruit punch. Drinks: mandarin orange, milk, smoothie. Detox water, coffee, tea. And one sandwich. To complete the experience, you’ll need four nights. Or, stay with four people and share. This is the banh mi. I piled it all up, one bite at a time. The banh mi was made with pork and vegetables in a sweet and spicy sauce, topped with cilantro. All-you- can-drink alcohol from the morning was amazing. Thank you for the heavenly fall . During my stay, for a limited time only, Labot walked around the hotel. It was not walking, but rolling… His name is Paprika. If you talk to him, he will respond in Paprika language. He looks a bit like Amedeo. I guess so. His round eyes. He’s gone. It would be fun if he was a little smaller so we could travel together. That’s Amedeo. When the battery gets low, it will return to its power source and recharge. I heard that pressing its nose would wake it up, but it was deep asleep. Goodnight, Paprika. The next morning , Paprika, are you awake? I shook hands and said bye- bye-bye, but Paprika followed me. Double speed. I sat on the sofa. He was happy. He kept following me. It was a little scary. Bye-bye, Paprika. I went home, and the next time I saw him, he was asleep again. Check-out: Before checking out, I had one last matcha. Autumn leaves. Thank you for your hospitality. It’s been raining heavily since last night, so I won’t be going out this morning and will check out before 10:00. Now, I’m heading to the Resol Hotel Kawaramachi Sanjo. It was a quiet and relaxing hotel. Paprika was cute too. Paprika is awake. I checked out at the front desk. Bye- bye, he’s cute until the end. It’s still raining. Before going to Hotel Resol Kawaramachi Sanjo, I stopped by the Pokemon Center Kyoto. It’s near Karasuma Station. The end . Thank you for watching until the end. Please come and see me again. See you again! Traveling Snow Leopard
