豪華客船 飛鳥Ⅲ 和太鼓に合わせてクルーが踊る？お見送り新宮港
This time, we’re seeing off the luxury cruise ship Asuka III, which arrived at Shingu Port in Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture. Asuka III is a new cruise ship that began service in July 2025. The route this time seems to be a seven-day trip from Yokohama Port to Takamatsu, stopping off in Shingu. During the port call, passengers can go on tours to Shingu, Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine, Nachi Falls, or Kumano, or some can just do their own thing. The ship’s data is slightly smaller than Asuka II. Its overall length is 10 meters, shortened to 230 meters, but its gross tonnage has increased by about 2,000, and its speed has decreased by one knot to a maximum of 20 knots. The number of passengers has been reduced from 872 to 740. The exterior, as seen from here, is huge, just like Asuka II. It ‘s not flashy, but I think it has a subdued design. The farewell speech is by the mayor. A spectacular performance by a Japanese drumming group. It seemed like there were more people seeing us off than on the Asuka II. The passengers clapped and danced along to the drumming, and it was impressive to see the crew dancing beautifully. The last rope was untied and we were finally ready to set sail. It was the turn of the tugboat, who was able to maneuver the large hull with a tugboat that could help with the ship’s movement. The tugboat was helping us out as we made turns .
