【福島&郡山】グルメとカフェと本の旅🍜📚癒しの東北読書旅、パンとおやつとご当地飯|vlog

Good morning! At the beginning of autumn, when the heat still lingers, I’m traveling solo to Fukushima. This time, I’m treating it as a “reading camp” and bringing a bunch of books with me. This is my first time riding the Tsubasa train, and the yellow and orange gradation is so cute! I prefer the aisle seat. I love reading magazines on the train. I brought a mix of half-read and unread books, but I’ll start with the one I’m reading first. This is my second time visiting Fukushima Prefecture, and this time I’ll be staying at Fukushima Station for two nights and three days, stopping off in Koriyama on the last day. Even though it’s a reading camp, I’m also planning to enjoy the delicious bread and Fukushima cuisine. Reading, food, and time for myself… I want to start autumn off right in Fukushima! I was enjoying Sayaka Murata’s full-throttle performance, but then I cried at the last chapter . I’m looking forward to my first time in Fukushima City ! When I arrived at my destination, I checked the convenience store at the station . There were so many Fukushima products! I could easily keep looking at them, how dangerous! I found a station stamp! I ‘ll put one in my travel notebook. There were four stamps, and I was having a hard time deciding. They’re so cute! I left my luggage at the hotel where I’d be staying for two nights, seeing a poster for Tokyo for the first time … I stave off hunger with black sesame banana juice while waiting for the bakery I wanted to visit to open. My daily life involves YouTube, starting a note, and planning trips… Of course, I also have work, and I’m having so much fun managing my time, but I still have a mountain of books I can’t finish… I always end up stopping by a bookstore and adding to my backlog… In an effort to recapture my fading reading week, I decided to get my editing and OTE done early, forgo full-scale sightseeing in a rental car, and take a leisurely reading trip to Fukushima. I set an alarm for the time I wanted to leave so I could concentrate until it was time to leave for the bakery. I bought this book at Book Off, and it had a shop card for a bakery? I looked it up, and it looked delicious, so maybe I should go! I was happy to think that the person who read it before also liked bread? Fukushima City is apparently the home of Yuji Koseki, and I’ve encountered it many times on this trip . I wonder if it runs on time? I’ll walk about 20 minutes to the bakery, and even though I’m alone, I’d love to try their flying dumplings… A viewer recommended this bakery! I arrived just as they opened, and there were so many delicious-looking breads! So cute! After much deliberation, I decided to order these two and a drink and eat in. It was raining outside, but the flavor was still great and I was starving!! Absolutely delicious! The walnut salt bread was so fluffy and chewy ! Delicious!! What a happy breakfast~ Fukushima is synonymous with peaches! So I chose the cute peach bread. The bread was so soft I almost crushed it… Oh, and it was filled with peach jam ! Delicious! The best! When I tried it, it tasted even more peach than it looked! The shop staff were bright and lively. Eating freshly baked delicious bread in the store was the best. I’ll never forget this walnut salt bread, and I want to eat it again . The salt on top was just right and had a nice kick . Thank you for letting me know! I wanted to buy some to take home, but it’s still the first day… Shall I hold off and head to another bakery ? This retro cake shop was also recommended to me. It seems to be popular, so I had to wait in line for a bit to get it! While waiting in line, I looked at the map and discovered a nearby shop selling round gyoza dumplings. They said 20 pieces is enough for one person! (Usually 30 pieces.) I’m so glad I settled for two buns – I’ll make the sauce and wait! They’re here! So cute! So let’s get started… I’m so happy the skins aren’t stuck together ! So hot! So piping hot! Ah! Delicious! There’s so much Chinese cabbage you wonder if there’s meat in it! The sauce is light, but also has the sweetness of the vegetables, and the fresh grated garlic gives it just the right balance! The skin is so crispy and crunchy, I could eat them all up – so delicious – it’s the joy of eating just the gyoza… (I don’t need rice). The bread is cute, but the gyoza are cute too. The last one… sob . It was the best lunch ever! Whew! Thank you for the meal! The rain has stopped! I feel so good walking around, maybe because it’s after the rain, or maybe because the air in Fukushima is nice. I should have bought that little peach in the back… Oh, I found a cafe I want to go to! I’m still full, so I’ll walk around a bit more . There are so many stylish and delicious-looking restaurants… I’m interested in the steak, and I also stopped by a cute second-hand clothing store that ‘s sometimes empty and sometimes filled with people! !! If it was nearby, I’d definitely go there! I can’t stop reading this… The clock in the plaza is a piano! As expected, I went back to the station and headed to the west exit! To a shop I’ve been looking forward to!! Right from the entrance, I was stopped in my tracks by something that caught my eye…lol There were so many delicious-looking things I couldn’t go any further . There was still the yogurt I wanted to eat! Okay! I can’t decide what to get… At the time, they were having a Shine Muscat fair, so there were plenty of other delicious-looking pizzas and bento boxes… And of course, there were plenty of sweets and souvenirs . There was also a lot of ramen – it was so much fun ! I checked in a little early, and the single rooms were fully booked, so I got a double room . It’s spacious! The bath is also clean! However, since there is a hot spring and sauna, I won’t use it this time. I’ll put some bread from Valo and some shopping at the tourist souvenir shop in the fridge for now. I got a soft drink exchange coin as a benefit for booking on the official website and for staying multiple nights. I’m looking forward to the bath tonight! There’s coffee service at the front desk! I took out all the books I brought with me… I wonder how many I can read! I’ll read a bit more before heading out in the evening. On this trip, I tried out something called the Pomodoro Technique. Especially when I’m traveling, I tend to worry about my next appointment and the time, so I set a timer and keep my phone away until it rings. If I have a departure time, I also set an alarm for that time! It might not seem necessary because I get so absorbed in reading, but by taking appropriate breaks, I definitely felt like my mind was clearer, even when I read more than usual. Since I’m in Fukushima! I went to a cafe I’ve been interested in! I found a soft serve ice cream shop I’ve been interested in… Apparently it’s open until midnight?! They were playing the Rokko Oroshi wind! There are so many cafes in Fukushima I’m interested in… I found this place on Google Maps and I really wanted to try it. I came here because I wanted to eat the meat pie, but the cake was also hard to resist… Yay! What a neat tart! This was just…puluntron when I put it in my mouth…smooth and delicious, I couldn’t resist… the meat pie was also superb…spices, the sweetness of the onions, the savory flavor of the meat… I wanted to stop by on my last day to take some home, but they only open at lunchtime, so I couldn’t stop by before leaving… I’m not particularly a cafe fan, but this might be the second cafe in my life that I really loved (the first was Cafe TODAI in Oarai). I didn’t want to finish eating, so my bites got smaller and smaller lol The shop was also so nice…I love it! The terrace seats are great, there are some there too! It looks so comfortable, I’m eating a delicious cake and relaxing while reading a book, but then I get a little hungry… that’s when I go to conveyor belt sushi! The reviews were good, so I was looking forward to it. Conveyor belt sushi, where you can control the amount you eat, is a great ally for solo travelers Let’s eat the tuna and amberjack (without wasabi) ! Oh my gosh! Delicious!! I’m sure it’s delicious ! Oh, so delicious – the appearance of the torotaku is amazing! By the way, this torotaku was so tasty… I’m shaking with delight , lol . Thank you for the delicious meal! Heading back to the hotel – I want to take the Iizaka Line tomorrow!! I’m back – I enjoyed the hot springs and sauna! Peach juice after the bath! It says to shake well. I hardly drink alcohol, so it’s a shame I can’t enjoy local sake and local cuisine while traveling, but this peach juice is absolutely delicious! I bought it and couldn’t put it down for a while, but once I started, it was so interesting I couldn’t put it down. It’s strange, but I can start reading essays about common things in novels as soon as I buy them, it’s strange how I read them for 25 minutes, so it’s time for a break. I’ve been looking forward to the Koriyama Morning Yogurt! After much deliberation, I decided on figs! I’ll eat the part that stuck to the lid first. I didn’t expect there to be so many figs in it…! It’s a little too delicious… I know there are many different types of yogurt, but this one is the ultimate classic, not the richest creamy type, but not too sour either…so delicious~~~ The valo cinnamon roll is for tomorrow’s snack, but I’m so curious I just take one bite. The part I’m eating looks white at this point, but there’s a thicker layer of cinnamon inside and above all, the dough is super delicious!!! The best! I filled the room humidifier with water and turned it on… I’m off to splash in the bath! The water was nice~~I’ll use the face pack I brought with me for skin care. This hotel had a really big tabletop mirror! This is one of the things I’m quietly happy about on this trip: I bring along samples and different packs from usual, so I can’t tell if the hot spring is working or which one is. lol It’s been a while since I last took a readle shot, and it hurts. lol I have bad eyesight, so the table mirror is a blessing… (I can’t see the mirror in the bathroom because it’s too far away). I feel like I’ll dream about the novels I read before bed, so I’ll read essays while I’m using my pack. Speaking of which, thanks to the hot springs, I didn’t get tired at all during this trip, even though I spent a long time reading! Today’s reading results… I finished two books , and I still have a lot to read until the first part of Haruki’s first volume … lol I want to read a lot more tomorrow, so I think I’ll finish a little in bed before going to sleep. This dimmable desk lamp by my pillow was so helpful! I’ll set the timer and read until I fall asleep. Good night! Good morning! The sky is like a Western painting! I’m off to take a morning bath! Oh yeah, this Jinbei was really good, it’s thick and comfortable, and easy to move around in! And it’s cute! Today was ramen day, which I was really looking forward to…! There’s still some time before breakfast starts, so I’ll have a cafe au lait and choose today’s book . It’s delicious !!! I want to continue reading from yesterday, but I also want to read Momo, and I want to finish at least one book, so I’ll mix in a lighter book… In the end, I ended up taking three books with me when I go out. This is what I’m wearing today. The breakfast buffet at Route Inn Grand has a lot of heavy dishes, and a hearty morning meal. There’s also some yogurt that I’m interested in! It’s chewy and creamy! Bread and French toast from the live kitchen – heehee, I tried to create a lineup that is conscious of breakfast. Let’s eat! Orange juice is the only option for morning juice! Vegetables are so appreciated when traveling. French toast with cinnamon and maple…! Delicious!!! There was no description on the bread, so I picked it without knowing what kind of bread it was … It smells a bit like basil… It was salty bread! Delicious! This yogurt is chewy and a new sensation! It’s delicious and filling, and it looks like it will keep you full. The world of yogurt seems so deep… Nice weather!! I was looking forward to the Iizaka Line! I thought it had a nice retro feel to it, but… it turns out the bus service was suspended due to a vehicle breakdown… I told the station attendant which station I wanted to go to, and he told me there was a bus that arrived 1.5km before the station… He showed me the bus destination and bus stop, what a kindness! Thank you! However… the bus times were quite strict… I wanted to get to a certain ramen restaurant as early as possible to register… I felt bad for him for giving me such good advice, but I changed my plan… I decided to try using a shared bicycle. The road looked easy, it was an electric bicycle, so I thought there would be no problem, there was a bicycle lane, and it was easy to ride. The clear blue sky after the rain was really pleasant, and it was almost hot in the sun! And what’s more! I saw a rainbow on the way! This was going to be a great day. After riding for about 20 minutes, I arrived at the ramen restaurant! It was 8am, and we were the 16th group… it was incredibly popular… They open at 11am, so I still had three hours to go, so I decided to go to Iizaka Onsen . What a lovely morning… I hurried to the convenience store to get some sunscreen!! Huh… are the trains running again already…? Lol . Anyway, I’ll continue on my bike… Thanks to my bike, I was able to enjoy the typical Fukushima scenery, such as the orchards. If I go down that hill and then go up, I’ll be at Iizaka Onsen! I’m curious about the sweets shop, but I’ll pass it for now… A hot spring town with a peaceful atmosphere. Since I’m here, I think I’ll take a day trip to the hot springs. Apparently the hot spring water in Iizaka Onsen is quite hot, so I came here, where the water is at least lukewarm. The baths were great~~ The historic buildings are beautifully preserved, and it’s wonderful. Since I’m here, I’ll also check out the former Horikiri residence, a home of a wealthy farmer and merchant dating back to the Edo period, which has been restored, restored, and partially remodeled. This storehouse was built in 1775! It is said to be the largest and oldest storehouse still standing in the prefecture. It’s very well-built, and spacious! There’s even a foot bath over there! It was a very clean and pleasant place. I took a break at a cafe until it was time to go back to the ramen shop . I had bookmarked the cafe, and they showed me to a comfortable counter seat facing the wall . The pancakes looked delicious, but I had to hold off for the ramen. I’m so happy that I can choose between dark roast or morning roast . Oh, oh, delicious… Bike → Hot Springs → Iced Latte is the best . Finally! I’m starting to read Momo. After carefully reading the table of contents… I set my alarm for the departure time, which was an hour and ten minutes away, but it was so interesting that I felt it was time to leave right away. The coffee was delicious, and the place was so comfortable… I’m curious to read more, but I have to get back to the ramen shop first. I’m totally energized, so let’s go! Before leaving, I stopped by the same shop and got some fried buns. I got beaten by the train! All the Iizaka Line stations have nice atmosphere. When I returned at opening time, the register had already closed. There was just a bench open for one person, so I sat down! Read more! I was extremely hungry, and it didn’t look like I’d be called for a while… So delicious. In the end, I waited another hour and a half, so I had plenty of room in my stomach . I went in! It was a counter seat! Kyaa… Let’s eat! The soup is… delicious… The atmosphere of the restaurant was already great even before I started eating… It was already delicious as I was sipping it, and once I put it all in my mouth I was just so happy… When I tried to grab the pork slices, they were so tender they fell apart! And the wontons… I tried them!! There were five of them, so big! Wow, it was so delicious I couldn’t tell what it was all about lol. The meat was filled with whole shrimp, and they were so tender and the skin was delicious… I didn’t want to finish eating, but my hands just kept eating, and before I knew it, it was all over… Was it just a mirage?… I was so excited, but I’d wait that long to come back and eat it again… Sorry to keep you waiting, my friend, I wanted you to try it too… The afterglow of my ramen experience was amazing. I was humming as I glided along, passing by a shop that caught my eye, and there were so many wonderful things…! I returned my bike and took a stroll… Since it was my trip to Fukushima, I wanted some fruit, so I went to a shop for ramen and walked quite a distance, so I decided to have something sweet . I found something amazing!!! The parfait was covered in a white grape veil jelly, and inside it was panna cotta, sponge cake, lime jelly, yogurt ice cream, and Shine Muscat grapes ! ! It’s the best, of course… Even though I’d been moving around, I still had ramen, so I felt like I needed something refreshing and crisp, and this thin slice of white chocolate was delicious… It was amazing! I’m back at the hotel! I wanted to rest my feet, so I took a bath and had a coffee… I’ll continue reading in my room! I’ll continue reading while using Pomodoro . I’m going for an evening walk. There’s an open-air sumo cheering event in front of the station! I’ve come to Corasse again . First, I went to the observation lounge . There were explanations of the views in each direction, which I really enjoyed. It’s so beautiful… The other side was also nice, so I’ll come here again today. I’ll buy all the souvenirs I need here today. What, sold out…? I bought a lot of them individually! My favorite frozen tempura, reunited with me since Iwaki! I was debating whether to get one with red bean paste or not, but apparently the red bean paste version was sold out lol I managed to get one at Espal, hoping it would stay hot until I got to the hotel … My favorite zunda shake is still warm thanks to my fast walking! The Zunda Shake is delicious no matter how many times you drink it. I hope they open a permanent exhibition in Tokyo too… and this too! My favorite, Frozen Tempura! Hmm – this one is also consistently delicious . It’s like a corn dog with mugwort mochi. With this delicious Tohoku sweet as my companion, I’m back to Momo’s world. Part 3! I think I’ll finish reading it like this. It was really good, the story was interesting, the characters are charming, and it seems like it will give me an opportunity to reconsider what time is, what work, life, and the joy of life are as an adult. So far I’ve read 3 books , I’m in the middle of reading 3 books , and I haven’t read 3 books yet. I’m sleepy, but I’m going to take a bath. After taking a bath, I’ll just read until I feel sleepy and then go to bed . When I got to the bathroom before going to bed, it was blue outside…? Some kind of tower was glowing blue. I was about to finish reading it, but I was so sleepy I couldn’t stop…lol. Good night! Good morning! Since I woke up early, I’ll continue reading from last night. Today, the last day, after breakfast, I’ll head to Koriyama and take my time, buying bread, having lunch, coffee, etc. Fukushima is so comfortable overall that it’s hard to leave… Thanks to not cramming everything into my trip this time, I was able to spend such luxurious time from the morning, which was great. I was able to read quickly and it was interesting. As always, I love seeing the city in the morning before it starts up full-scale operations. I’m going for a morning bath and breakfast. The menu is quite different from yesterday, which is amazing , but my plate is almost the same as yesterday… Let’s eat! As always, veggie french toast. What kind of bread is this…? It was pretzel!!! Delicious! The French toast was a great combination of sweet and salty maple and bacon ! I want to come back again . I feel like the sky in Fukushima is bluer than Tokyo, it’s so nice. I still want to stay in Fukushima, but… there’s a restaurant in Koriyama that I really want to go to. I’m heading to Koriyama on the Tohoku Main Line local train. Read more. It’s about an hour’s train ride through idyllic scenery, and lo and behold, the setting of the story is exactly in Fukushima…! I got goosebumps because I had no idea . Oh, we’ve already arrived ! A big, beautiful station. First, a 15-minute walk to the bakery I was looking for ! Kashiwaya! I’ll stop by later . I wonder if I can get some freshly steamed bread…? Hmm? Is there something there? Oh! A face! “The walking town” Hmmmm… There were three people in total . Ah , I see them! What a cute shop… I was looking for a cream box, but I was distracted by the delicious-looking bread at such a reasonable price… It was so shiny…! I couldn’t help but wonder about the bread… They even brought out sweet potatoes! They brought out freshly baked bread, and the shop staff were so warm I felt warm inside (the bag was cute) . Walk to the station? Bread is surprisingly heavy, so hang in there! They sent me off with a smile!! I discovered a shrine … It’s too hard to read . I missed visiting in Fukushima, so they’re open to offer prayers to thank me for my good trip and for a safe return home ! I started off with a warm, freshly steamed thin-skinned bun with the recommended smooth red bean paste ! I enjoyed it at a hearth-style seat at the entrance of the shop . It was so delicious! Just as the shop staff recommended, the red bean paste was melt-in-your-mouth, making me so happy! Apparently, they’re holding an Autumn Sweet Potato, Chestnut, and Pumpkin Festival, and I was given a booklet about the fair . Apparently , if you collect five stamps, you get something! Since I was there in the fall, I thought I’d buy a few things . They had a lot of things for sale, so it was the perfect place to find souvenirs for someone living alone. I love sweet potatoes, chestnuts, and pumpkins, and everything looked delicious, so I ended up buying quite a few…lol. I ate lunch here as planned. I don’t drink alcohol, but there was something I really wanted to eat. All the other single men around me were eating pork cutlet bowls with sauce. Everything looked delicious, but what I wanted was… horse sashimi!!! The only place to eat horse sashimi in Fukushima City was a night izakaya, so after much searching, I finally found this place. I tried the chili miso, I think? And with some soy sauce… and dig in! Yup! Delicious!!! I can hear the sound of the Shinkansen lol. The carrots I missed out on buying in Fukushima are so delicious. They were definitely meant to go with sake lol. But they go really well with rice too . And then there’s this herring with sansho pepper… it’s so delicious, exactly what I like! I love sansho pepper , so it’s irresistible…this miso-like thing is incredibly tasty with a strong garlic flavor . A sad ending…I want to eat twice as much . Fukushima food is so strong…everything is delicious. I finished off the rice with the sansho pepper stew I had saved for later… it was so delicious! I also took a look at d&department next door . There are a lot of Fukushima specialties…I’ve been wanting a big bowl lately. I have some time before my Shinkansen train, so I’ll go for a coffee break. I arrived at Usui Department Store. Since I was there, I also tried their homemade gelato. Since Junkudo is attached, I enjoyed a book with my coffee in hand while looking around the bookstore! Since I was able to choose the beans and brewing method, I ordered the Fukuei Blend in a French press. While I waited for my coffee, I had some gelato first… Every single one was delicious… My first sip was caramel pecan, but the chocolate and vanilla were also rich and delicious, and I was impressed with everything ! It was already too late. As a coffee lover, I always envy the tea pot service, and with a French press, it felt like a pot. The coffee was very easy to drink. Well, I’m at a good place now, so I’ll continue reading. I’m going home after this coffee time is over… How sad… I want to read the second volume soon! It’s still daytime, but I have work again tomorrow… The Shinkansen is a little delayed, so I’m nervously thinking, “This can’t be it…?” I don’t want to go home, I don’t want to go home… I don’t want to go home! It was a really, really wonderful trip. This was my first time drinking tea, and it was delicious! I’m already starting on the second volume. I can read it so quickly, I think I’ll finish it on the train home . Just a little more effort and I’ll be home – I’ll bring it back safely!
