【兵庫】丹波篠山で秋の絶品モンブラン🌰大人の城下町さんぽVlog🍂

Hello, my name is Shie. I recently visited Tamba Sasayama in Hyogo Prefecture. First, I hurried to a popular cafe. I wanted to arrive before opening time, but I was delayed and caught in traffic, so I ended up arriving after opening time. I wondered how many customers there would be. I arrived at Nakajima Taishodo Tamba Main Branch. This shop offers Japanese and Western sweets made with Tamba’s local specialties, as well as pizza. I nervously went to the reception desk, only to find that the wait was 190 minutes! (I was surprised.) While I was waiting, I strolled around the area and noticed something. I arrived at the Tamba Reimeikan. Tours are free. This building was originally established as an elementary school in 1885. The exterior has been preserved almost exactly as it was when it was first built. The cream-colored interior is a nice touch. It’s also designated a Hyogo Prefectural Tangible Cultural Property. I’ll check out that building I saw from the window later. I went up to the second floor. This is a multipurpose hall. It’s kind of cute, like a wedding venue. I can’t wait to eat the Tamba chestnuts ❤︎. This historic Meiji-era modern Western-style building has a retro, calming atmosphere that’s somehow soothing. The creaking sound of the windows as you walk down the hallway is also charming. The stained-glass windows and lighting give it a modern feel. Thank you. Next, we headed to the neighboring mansion. It’s a magnificent structure with a sense of history. This is the site of the Kashiwara clan’s camp, built by Oda Nobuyasu. Apparently, you can tour the inside of the building, and the admission fee is 200 yen for adults. Across the street is the Tamba Reimeikan building we visited earlier. I’m not very knowledgeable about history, but I felt it was a rare treat to be able to walk around the grounds. I could even see a tower on a slight hill. (We’ll arrive there later without even realizing it.) Thank you. This was our first time in this area, but my husband had an idea that there might be something else there. Since we had plenty of time, we decided to take a walk. Then, a retro building came into view. It had a beautiful, historic exterior. The vermilion bridge added a nice atmosphere. Right next to the bridge… There was a large zelkova tree estimated to be about 1,000 years old. It’s a designated natural monument of Hyogo Prefecture and is truly magnificent. And part of the tree’s roots is called a “Kinoebashi” (root bridge). Here it is. Amazingly, the roots cross the river, forming a natural bridge! It’s truly impressive. It gave me energy! It has a strong presence, even from a distance. Suddenly, I noticed a manhole cover, a “Kinoebashi” (root bridge). There were several shrines nearby. I thought I smelled something…ginkgo, which means it’s autumn. This shrine seems to have deep ties to the history of the Oda clan. Is that a shachihoko? Next, I’d like to visit Kashiwara Hachimangu Shrine. It seems to be on a slight hill. At first, I thought it would only be a short climb. Looking ahead, I was surprised to see that there were a lot of stairs. I was out of breath, but surprisingly, it only took about seven minutes. This shrine was founded in 1024 as a branch shrine of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Kyoto. It is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Behind the shrine was a vibrantly colored three-story pagoda. It’s designated as an Important Cultural Property of Hyogo Prefecture. The colors are slowly changing. It’s time to head down. I could hear the chirping of cicadas. Looking at the QR code at the reception desk, I realized my turn was approaching, so I headed back to the cafe. I returned to Nakajima Taisho-do. The shop boasts a beautiful green garden, and the charming building is a renovated 150-year-old thatched-roof house. I’m glad I checked in early in the morning. (It was around 2 p.m.) The interior was also very tasteful. My freshly squeezed Mont Blanc made with Tamba chestnuts was being prepared right before my eyes. My lunch pizza was being baked in the background, and it looked delicious. It was ready quickly, and the food was meticulously prepared. This is the freshly squeezed Mont Blanc made with Tamba chestnuts (2,750 yen). It’s tall and impressive. Since it was still hot during the day, I ordered iced tea (550 yen). My husband ordered an iced coffee (550 yen) and a cream puff (660 yen). Inside the puff pastry was a large Tanba chestnut. Its delicate and beautiful appearance made me hesitate to eat it. But then, I ate it. The Mont Blanc cream, squeezed into a thin layer, filled my mouth with the rich flavor of Tanba chestnut. Its gentle, refined sweetness made me want to keep eating it forever. The inside was filled with fresh cream, meringue, and sponge cake, and it had a crispy yet fluffy texture. I was able to savor the luxurious Tanba chestnuts to my heart’s content. I was so happy to have the delicious Tanba chestnuts I’d been saving for so long… Thank you for the meal. After enjoying the Tanba chestnuts, we headed to our next destination. It was about a 30-minute drive. We walked around the castle town area of Tanba Sasayama. The townscape had a lovely, unified feel. The Taisho Romankan, a tourist and exchange facility that also serves as a base for the trip, was the former Sasayama Town Hall, and it’s so charming. The manhole was decorated with the stone walls and moat of Sasayama Castle ruins. I had just eaten some, but now I’m craving chestnuts! lol. There were a lot of people there. The day we visited was the day after the black edamame beans were first sold. We immediately bought some. (We boiled them later and they were delicious.) Just walking around the town and looking at the sights was fun. This was my second time in the castle town area. I had a great time there the last time, so being back brought back memories. I discovered some new things. This is an art museum housed in one of Japan’s oldest wooden courthouses, built in 1891 (Meiji 24). The interior was also very intriguing. It was already 4 p.m., so I decided to go for lunch, lol. We arrived at a restaurant in the Tokusankan Sasayama, directly managed by JA Tanba Sasayama. It was quiet, with only an hour left until closing time. I ordered the Beef Fatty Set Meal (1,370 yen). It consisted of a half-size beef fatty tuna bowl and noodles. I chose warm Handa noodles. The bowl featured a combination of domestic Kuroge Wagyu beef and grated mountain yam. The slightly rare beef and the generous amount of sticky grated yam combined perfectly with the rice, leaving a satisfying meal. The Handa noodles were soothing. It was a hearty beef and tuna set meal. Thank you for the meal. By the time I returned, the crowds had thinned out. I had been eyeing chestnuts, but they were half price! I bought them all (and they were delicious). I went to the Taisho Roman Museum to look for souvenirs. I only bought two tarts, but they were delicious; I wish I had bought more. I still have more sightseeing to do, so I headed to my next destination. I arrived at Kawaramachi Tsumairi Merchant Houses. A row of merchant houses in the “Tsumari” architectural style stretches for about 600 meters. This historic district, with its Edo-period streetscape, has been designated a nationally designated Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. I discovered a wonderful shop. Just walking through the beautiful streets, which feel like a time warp, is very relaxing. There were few people around at this time of day, and the time passed quietly. There was also a lovely general store here. I noticed a scent I liked, and before I knew it, it was Osmanthus season. I arrived at Ochiyama Makekirai Inari Shrine. Apparently, he is beloved as a god who never wants to lose and is strong in competitions. The sight of the rows of red torii gates is a spectacular sight. It would be nice to visit during the cherry blossom or autumn foliage season. When I returned to Kawaramachi Tsumairi Merchants Houses, it was getting a little dark, and the street was lit up, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Thank you for watching.
