Like Hirayu Onsen Fukuji Onsen Shin-Hirayu Onsen Tochio Onsen and Shin-Hotaka Onsen Today we’re going to Shin-Hirayu Onsen and staying at an inn there Shin-Hirayu Onsen is located in the middle of the five hot spring areas!
The second largest after Hirayu Onsen A hot spring area spreading on the western foot of Mt. Yakedake First, let’s eat at Shin-Hirayu Onsen! A restaurant that’s been running for 60 years in Shin-Hirayu Onsen Their signature dish is Hida beef hormone and cabbage stewed in secret miso and soup – called “Tecchan”! Delicious!! It’s miso! Miso-flavored soup So good!! The hormone is plump and well-stewed Delicious It’s cold today so this warms us up This soup is addictive Is there good broth? The good broth permeates throughout my body It’s coursing through Delicious It’s the season for hot pot Really Hot pot and hot springs Indeed! The best! Winter is! The Takayama ramen also looked delicious♪ We’ve come to Hirayu Onsen! The bus terminal was crowded! The rain has gotten stronger… Hot spring eggs? Reverse eggs!? I was curious so I bought some! The yolk is hard, and the white is runny! When cooked at a lower temperature this happens! I see Let’s try it! Isn’t this amazing How do you eat it? Drink it as is!! Wow~! Delicious! But you know it’s possible because it’s soft! It’s delicious It was delicious So warm!! There was a foot bath! It was a free rest area! A bear!? There’s also a hot spring called “Hirayu no Yu” nearby! A building over 300 years old Hirayu Onsen being the largest hot spring town has lots of inns So many! The atmosphere is like a hot spring town Yes yes yes It feels like a traditional hot spring town The autumn leaves are beautiful too There’s an interesting café, let’s check it out! 5 minutes walk from Hirayu Bus Terminal A log house-style cozy shop open from 8am Carefully brewed aromatic coffee with a siphon You can enjoy cakes, parfaits, and light meals! The refreshing sweetness was delicious♪ Nestled in Okuhida Onsen-go, Shin-Hirayu Onsen A traditional-style hot spring inn with 10 rooms All rooms are equipped with an irori (sunken hearth) area There are 2 private open-air baths that are free and don’t require reservation While viewing the seasonal mountain scenery Their specialty is indulging in hot springs! There’s an irori! An irori right when you enter! Nice! So innovative! Can we use this? Yeah, looks like we can We can! There’s fire starter Oh wow Let’s try it later Wow High ceiling Wow You can see the beams High ceiling Mountains and the hot spring town? You can see fields and things Beautiful! The mountains over there have autumn colors too If it clears up we can see the autumn leaves Let’s head to the hot spring right away! There’s a large public bath and 2 private baths!🙆‍♀️ Private open-air bath “Kura no Yu” We’ve come to the private open-air bath This one also has an open-air bath Feels so good There’s an indoor bath and you can enjoy the outdoor bath too It’s raining a bit but that’s nice too It’s hot below so I can get in at just the right temperature And the hot spring has a silky texture I feel like I’m warming up faster than usual Is this the type of spring quality? Feels good Now that it’s getting cold the hot spring feels amazing Hida beef shabu-shabu for dinner! Look at this marbling! It’s A5 rank Hida beef from a directly managed farm Please eat it with the special sesame sauce Local vegetables Grown without pesticides at our own farm The marbling is incredible! Amazing So delicious Melts in your mouth I know! It just melts So delicious It’s so good Really delicious Tender and so delicious! Awesome Well, it’s A5 rank Look at the sake barrels! Many types of Gifu sake We’ll try the nigori sake! Limited to 100 bottles Good! Delicious It’s nigori but refreshing And easy to drink Goes down smooth Right! Now it’s time for Hida beef tataki! With salt Let’s try it Let’s eat! Delicious! Melts away! Amazing It’s so good The umami is different The sweetness of the fat is amazing Adding salt seems to enhance the sweetness! About 15 minutes by car Good morning! Shin-Hotaka Ropeway Shirakaba-daira Station Now you can see over there you can see the cable line We’re taking the ropeway to Shin-Hotaka Ropeway Nishi-Hotaka-guchi Station! The ropeway has the First Ropeway and the Second Ropeway You ride the First Ropeway walk a bit come to this Second Ropeway line up and ride the Second Ropeway! Since we want to get to the top quickly this time we’re starting from the Second Ropeway! But the weather is a bit uncertain Let’s go see Opened in 1970, Japan’s only two-story gondola You can enjoy a scenic aerial ride up to 2,156m elevation! There’s also a bakery!
