    2025 Tokyo’s BEST night spots – Shinjuku-sanchome & Akabane – 4K HDR

    Wandering around a couple of my favorite night areas on the west side of central Tokyo. Starting in Shinjuku-sanchome, where there are tons of restaurants and bars, just a stones throw from the main shopping district of higashi Shinjuku. From there we pass through the ever-popular Omoide Yokocho near the station, and off to the streets of Akabane. While Akabane is a bit further up north, it’s for sure one of the few places left in Tokyo to have a night out where the locals hang.

      i did wonder when i was in tokyo myself, considering the high level of care in keeping things maintained, why are a lot of the streets patched with asphalt, rather than the brickwork that seems to be there before? speed over quality? or something else?

      I see a lot of people vaping. I haven't seen anyone vaping in your videos before. I am surprised. Also the camera bobbing up and down as you walk seems new too. Your old videos were more stabilized I think. I fall asleep to

      Mr. Virtual Japan, I have a question but I couldn't find an e-mail to contact you with so here it is. I have a Sony ZV-E1 (most recent upgraded firmware) and was wondering what focus mode you use and your video setting would be helpful to me. I've recently been using the Slog3 mode and do my own color correction in Adobe Premier Pro. Any help you can offer is most appreciated, I've been doing a similar thing where I live, walk through videos in city areas/ streets or in a forest with very few people around. Thanks!

      Always appreciate the walking vids VJ! I like to take in the atmosphere and see if i can't find any interesting places to add to my list when visiting! I'll be back there in mid October for 2 weeks for a solo trip, my google maps is absolutely filled with bookmarks 😂

      You call the second area Higashi Shinjuku? I think it a little bit wrong because it’s 新宿駅東口エリア, which means Shinjuku Station East Side Area.

      Because 東新宿 Higashi Shinjuku is next to Shin-Okubo Korean Town. And the area has Higashi Shinjuku Station.

      That is really clean for narrow, bustling streets and alleyways. Impressive. If this was 🇺🇸, there would be piles of garbage, newspapers and DD/starbucks cups littered everywhere with blotches of black gum patches on the concrete like NY sidewalks.
