九州・宮崎県に千年以上の歴史を刻む、高千穂神社。
神々が天から降り立った“高千穂の地”を守るため、約1900年前に創建されたと伝えられる古社です。
境内に一歩足を踏み入れると、神秘の気配に満ちた静けさが広がります。
境内にある“鎮石”(しずめいし)は、国を守る力が宿るとして祀られ、乱れや災いを“鎮める力”を持つと信じられてきた神秘の石。触れると心が静まり、悪しきものを祓うと伝えられています。
映画「すずめの戸締まり」にインスピレーションを与えたとも言われています。

This ancient shrine is said to have been founded approximately 1,900 years ago to protect the “land of Takachiho,” where the gods descended from heaven.
Step into the precincts, and you are enveloped in a profound silence filled with an aura of mystery.
The “Shizumeishi” stone within the grounds is a mysterious rock venerated as possessing the power to protect the nation. It is believed to hold the power to “quell” chaos and calamity. Touching it is said to calm the heart and purify evil influences.
It is said to have inspired the film “Suzume”
