【福岡Vlog】心落ち着くカフェと雑貨店と器のお店|夜の神社とクリスマスマーケット
As the chill deepens these days, Today I’m visiting Yakuin in Fukuoka. Along Jyosui-dori, there is a quiet space filled with beautiful tableware. “TOKITOIRO,” created by Tashiro Pottery from Arita. A calm space lined with carefully selected pieces. Elegant original products. And works by various artists from around Japan. Each piece has its own character. Simple, modern silver-glazed ware with a beautiful sense of space. I found myself quietly captivated by its presence. I enjoyed a cup of tea at kidate. The contrast between the natural clay and white porcelain feels soothing. Bowls and cutlery that fit comfortably in the hand are also selected here. Some people visit to find the perfect plate for enjoying fish they’ve caught themselves—
which feels wonderfully refined. Many people also come to look for gifts. The staff kindly explains each item, so you can choose at your own pace. Looking for a calm place for lunch, I came here. Yamaya Sohonten “Shirogane Komichi.” Here you can enjoy Hakata’s karashi mentaiko dishes and find souvenirs. Bathed in soft light, I naturally relaxed. Pasta with plenty of Yamaya’s “freshly made mentaiko,”
shiso leaves, and roasted seaweed. A truly exceptional flavor that only “fresh mentaiko” can offer. It was so delicious, I couldn’t stop eating. A slow moment, gazing at the courtyard that changes with the seasons. The happy hour menu also tempted me a little. I took a quick look at the souvenir corner as well. There were many items that mentaiko lovers would surely enjoy. I stopped by a shop I had been curious about. The lifestyle goods store “ENCONTRAR.” Items for clothing, food, and home—selected from Japan and abroad—line the shelves. Bamboo crafts from Beppu, Oita. Maruoyaki pottery from Amakusa, Kumamoto. And this little one is from the Philippines. Gentle-tasting foods carefully made in Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto. Handmade soaps from Aso, Kumamoto. The selection feels warm and heartfelt. Hearing, “I also choose things my parents had cherished since my early childhood,”
filled me with a quiet warmth. It was a small, gentle place. Quietly tucked away is “OYATUYA.U Café.” Gateau chocolat with rum raisins, topped with dried flowers. Even the cutlery has a subtle, charming character. A delicious, grown-up flavor with a pronounced rum aroma. A moment of rest in a slightly dim space. Many people visited that day looking for baked sweets. Thank you for the treat. During this season, the sun sets earlier. It’s time to leave Yakuin and head toward Kushida Shrine Station. A charming area located just about 8 minutes from Hakata or Gion Stations. LIGHT YEARS, a select shop in Fukuoka offering worldwide finds—
textiles, crafts, and folk art collected while traveling. Selections from Morocco, Africa, Asia, and beyond. Filming is not allowed inside, but the shop is filled with beautiful Moroccan rugs and other crafted items. The sister shop “MORE LIGHT” is also a lovely space. Kushida Shrine, Hakata’s guardian shrine, fondly called “Okushida-san.” It has long been worshipped as a deity of longevity and prosperous business. It is also famous for the dedication ceremony of Hakata’s summer festival,
“Hakata Gion Yamakasa.” After 7 p.m., it’s beautifully illuminated—perfect for evening visits. Even on this day, visitors kept coming without pause. During February’s Setsubun Festival, Japan’s largest “Otafuku mask”
and a bean-throwing ceremony by local figures are highlights. Hakata Station, wrapped in Christmas lights. The Christmas market is lively, adding to the magic of winter. It’s one of the wonderful mysteries of Christmas—
how it warms the heart.
