【東京 グルメ】永久保存版!人生に一度は訪れたいカキフライの名店5選!!爆弾カキフライや昭和10年創業老舗の神業サクサクの薄衣などなど!!

Hi, I’m KT. Welcome to KT EATS! a winter staple that suddenly appears in Tokyo, bringing long lines with it. We also offer a wide variety of other dishes, including oyster butter and oyster soba, so be sure to watch until the end. First up, we’re visiting a long-established Western-style restaurant in Yotsuya, Tokyo. Expect long lines—people come from across Japan just to taste the legendary fried oysters and oyster butter. While you’re waiting in line, the staff will hand out menus. Most customers seemed to order fried oysters or oyster butter. Beer and wine are available by the glass. First up, the miso soup arrives. This miso soup is good. We ordered both regular and large portions of rice. We asked for a little curry on top.(Curry¥200/1.29USD) It was pork curry with tender, sticky pork.
The curry was rich and mild. The dish came with shredded cabbage and potato salad. Finally, the oyster butter arrives — made only with large oysters.
(¥2000/12.86USD) Even after oysters first appear on the market,
they’re not served here until they’re fully grown and plump. Now, it’s time to enjoy this luxurious delicacy. Crispy on the outside, plump on the inside. A light dusting of flour seals in the flavor,
and rich oyster taste bursts out with every bite. Oyster dishes are available from around October through April. It pairs perfectly with rice.
And of course, the ultimate finish is oysters with butter over rice. You wouldn’t expect butter-sautéed oysters to pair with rice —
but it works beautifully. The fried oysters were also large. Large oysters were wrapped in a crispy batter.(¥1800/11.57USD) Fried in 100% corn oil with no lard, the batter stays light. I also had the cutlet.(¥1300/8.36USD) The pork loin cutlet is generously topped with a fresh demi-glace sauce, prepared fresh every morning. Next up is Suidobashi, home to Tokyo Dome. Established in 1958, this famous tonkatsu restaurant has been beloved by many celebrities, including literary greats. The restaurant is located in the basement, accessible via these stairs. Expect lines during lunch hours and on weekends. If there’s a line, please register at the touchscreen inside the restaurant and take a numbered ticket. The interior is filled with more than 2,000 antiques and artworks, making it a sight to behold. Here’s the menu. In addition to tonkatsu fried using traditional techniques, In addition to tonkatsu fried using traditional techniques,
they offer a wide variety of non-fried dishes and a full selection of alcoholic beverages. While Katsukichi is known for its tonkatsu,
they also serve fresh sashimi delivered every morning from Toyosu. The two-piece sashimi platter features wild bluefin tuna and yellowtail. (¥1400/9.06USD) Both were rich, fatty, and outstanding. This is the red miso soup that comes with the set meal.
It’s rich in flavor and delicious. You can choose between white rice or shiso rice, made with fresh green shiso leaves. There are three types of pickles. And this is shredded cabbage.
Amazingly, refills on all of these are free. Next came the fried oysters, with batter blooming like a flower. This set meal comes with three fried oysters,
but there’s also an option with four.(¥2400/15.43USD) We doused them in their original sauce and dug in. Apparently, each fried oyster contains four to six oysters from Mie Prefecture. The batter was light and fluffy, with the inside still rare.
The fresh oyster flavor was incredible. We also had the oyster gratin, served in a large oyster shell.
(¥900/5.79USD) There seemed to be three or four oysters in the shell. Smothered in a generous helping of béchamel sauce and cheese. We also had the pork cutlet.(¥3200/20.58USD) The premium tonkatsu comes with our three-flavor sauce and a vinegared shrimp and mushroom side dish. The batter is a light golden brown.
Katsuyoshi’s traditional tonkatsu, slowly deep-fried at a low temperature, is moist, tender, and incredibly juicy. Next, we’re heading to Tsukiji, renowned for its bustling fresh fish market. This restaurant, founded in 1935, is a classic Tsukiji establishment. First up, the pickles that come with the set meal Lightly pickled cabbage,
carrots, and cucumber, tossed in sesame oil. The crispy texture is great. Non-alcoholic beer(¥600/3.86USD) Ordered as a single item, the famous homemade potato salad is hearty and satisfying.(¥500/3.22USD) This isn’t sashimi — it’s tuna chunks.
(¥350/2.25USD) Truly Tsukiji — I was amazed at how delicious the tuna was. Add this to your set meal for just 350 yen more. The set meal’s miso soup was a flavorful clam soup. This is the rice that came with the set meal. The fried oysters arrived. They were round and quite hefty.
(¥1500/9.65USD) The outside was crispy and lightly breaded. The inside was incredibly rare, and the oyster flavor was amazing. Each fried oyster is made by frying three or four oysters together. They’re also well-known for their delicious simmered fish. Simmered blackthroat seaperch(¥2500/16.09USD) This dish is also available for an additional 350 yen on top of the set meal. Simmered flounder head and bones(¥350/2.25USD) Our next restaurant is a renowned spot located inside Toyosu Market, one of the world’s largest fresh fish markets. This restaurant, established in 1935, is a classic Toyosu establishment. Here’s the regular menu — in addition to set meals, there’s a wide range of donburi and a la carte dishes. First, the miso soup that comes with the set meal arrived. This was the rice with the set meal. Then came the fried oysters. They came with potato salad, cabbage, and tartar sauce.(¥2400/15.43USD) Surprisingly thin, the batter was just lightly coated with coarse breadcrumbs. Fried slowly at 170°C, the batter turned out crispy and incredibly light. The inside was moist and juicy, perfectly fried. I also tried this — a thick, hearty beef cutlet. Absolutely indulgent.
(¥2500/16.08USD) Thin, crispy batter with a moist interior — the flavor of premium Japanese Black beef bursts with every bite. This place doesn’t serve fried oysters, but their oyster soba is an absolute must! Founded in Tsukiji in 1948, this renowned restaurant has long been loved by market workers and i s a driving force behind the market. Here it is—the legendary original oyster ramen, highly recommended!(¥1450/9.33USD) The original Kaki Ramen, a winter-only menu item available from mid-October, features this giant oyster along with onions, chives, and bamboo shoots. It contains this giant oyster, as well as onions, chives, and bamboo shoots. It’s a salt-based ramen, but the oyster extract gives the soup a milky white color. It’s so delicious, I can’t stop scooping it up with my spoon! The soup, infused with the rich oyster flavor, is absolutely delicious. The noodles were smooth and chewy, and incredibly delicious. I added butter halfway through to change up the flavor.
(¥100/0.64USD) If you like, definitely try topping it with butter. Just add a pat of butter to the soup, and it instantly transforms into an oyster clam chowder. I also tried the Gomoku Soba, a seasonal dish offered only in fall and winter.(¥1450/9.33USD) While it’s called Gomoku, it’s apparently topped with a whopping 17 different ingredients — too many to count! This is today’s recommendation: the popular Taiwanese dish, Da Ji Pai.(¥900/5.79USD) I also gave the classic stir-fried liver and vanilla a try.
(¥900/5.79USD) The next restaurant was founded in 1970. Their fried oysters are so famous that in winter, it’s the only thing on the menu. During the day, long lines form, but in the evening you can make a reservation and enjoy your meal without waiting. We’ve received the gigantic fried oysters, known as the “Original Bomb” or “Kakifry.”(¥1700/10.93USD) Just two oysters are already impressive. The set meal comes with a hearty pork soup, pickles, and rice. Can you believe it? One fried oyster has seven oysters inside! This is a three-oyster set meal.(¥2000/12.86USD) I take the first bite with salt and lemon. The batter is crispy, the inside moist, and they’re as rare as can be. Next, I eat them with soy sauce and mustard. Enjoying explosive fried oysters with a drink in the evening is pure luxury. Drinks available during the evening include highballs (¥500/3.22USD) and bottled beer (¥700/4.50USD) Next, I eat them with the sauce. The oysters are packed with flavor, filling your mouth with umami and savory notes. So, everyone, what did you think of this fried oyster? If you thought it looked delicious, please give it a thumbs up!! Don’t forget to give us a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel!
