As dusk fell in central Kyoto, the *yamaboko* floats—illuminated by the soft glow of *komagata* lanterns—emerged in a dreamlike display, and the large crowds of visitors enjoyed the atmospheric scene.
According to the Kyoto Prefectural Police, the number of visitors stood at approximately 280,000 as of 9:30 p.m., an increase of 90,000 compared to the previous year.
