Oshima is a small inhabited island with a circumference of 3 km located in the western part of the Kurushima Strait, 1 km offshore from Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.

Oshima is one of the islands that make up the Kurushima archipelago, which includes Kurushima and Umajima.
The ferry operates 10 times a day from Hatohama Port in Imabari City, takes 10 minutes, and costs 440 yen round trip.
To the southeast of Oshima, you can see Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge and Umashima island up close.
The small island you can see in front of you is Kurushima island. There is a Futatsuiwa Light Beacon on the rocky area between Kurushima and Oshima.
The crane you can see in front is a shipbuilding company such as Imabari Shipbuilding.
There is a small Itsukushima Shrine that pray for safe navigation.
Around 1900, the Empire of Japan built Geiyo Fortress on Oshima island in preparation for the Russo-Japanese War, and many ruins still remain on the island.
Facilities such as artillery batteries, red brick barracks, and gunpowder storage located in the mountains remain almost exactly as they were at the time, making them valuable modernization heritage.
