福島のシンボル・磐梯山は現在も活動する活火山です。そしてこれまで何度か噴火を繰り返し川がせき止められ、磐梯山の北側、裏磐梯には約300の沼や湖あります。秋元湖は２番目に広い湖で、湖上には島々が点在しています。
