“No Hapi” to Kanazawa Without Kansai Hokuriku Train Pass 「ハピなし」関西北陸パスなしで金沢へ #電車
Moving with luggage. 20 December 2024 11.13 am start. But arrived at Kanazawa at 7.30 pm. Shin-Osaka to Kanazawa station.
Summary: Thunderbird reserved seats tickets from Shin-Osaka to Tsuruga station was paid at Shin-Osaka station counter. Tickets (total price) from Tsuruga Hapi line to Kanazawa station was paid inside Tsuruga Hapi train with cash to train conductor. Only cash. IC cards (Icoca) not accepted. However, Tsuruga Hapi train to Fukui station, get off and change train to Ishikawa train to continue to Kanazawa station with the same payment receipt.

After Thunderbird to Tsuruga station, it seems we missed the Hapi train to Fukui. Waiting time for the next train was 1 hour. When we arrived at Fukui station, I didn’t know that the payment receipt in Hapi train can continue being used for Ishikawa train. There was no need to wait for Hapi train which would not come. I thought we had to wait for Hapi train, so we kept waiting.
After waiting for so long, 1 Ishikawa train already passed. When I saw the second Ishikawa train bound for Kanazawa, I asked the train driver (in English) whether my receipt can be used to go to Kanazawa on his train.
The Ishikawa train driver said, “yes.” in Japanese. When we sat down inside, I wondered if the driver really understood what I asked. So I came out and tapped lightly on his glass window with my fingernail.
He came to the door. I thought he might be upset about being disturbed. But the young driver was very nice and took the effort to explain in Japanese (which I could only guess the meaning).
When I showed him the receipt, he said the left column is Hapi line and the right column is Ishikawa Railway (going in different directions). He confirmed again that this train can go to Kanazawa.
At the start, I didn’t want to pay so much for the Kansai Hokuriku Pass. And I didn’t want to rush 7 days of sightseeing in Kanazawa, Fukui, Toyama areas. And we have already seen Kansai area. And I don’t trust Klook anymore.
So we didn’t ride the Hokuriku Shinkansen. Instead, I chose Hapi train which became “No Hapi” because it was so irregular and infrequent. We wasted a lot of time waiting for the train. Ishikawa train is more frequent.
I am still happy that I didn’t buy the Kansai Hokuriku Pass. The train fare from Shin-Osaka to Kanazawa is cheaper without taking the Shinkansen. We would have arrived in Kanazawa sooner if I was informed earlier that the receipt can be used on both Hapi and Ishikawa trains.

まとめ：新大阪から敦賀駅までのサンダーバード指定席切符は新大阪駅窓口で支払いました。敦賀ハピラインから金沢駅までの乗車券（総額）は、敦賀ハピ車内で車掌に現金で支払った。現金のみ。 ICカード（Icoca）はご利用いただけません。ただし、敦賀ハピは福井駅まで行き、下車して石川電車に乗り換え、同じ支払い領収書を持って金沢駅まで進みます。

サンダーバードで敦賀駅まで行った後、福井行きのハピに乗り遅れたようです。次の電車までの待ち時間は1時間でした。福井駅に着いたときは、ハピトレインの払込票が引き続き石川電車でも使えるとは知りませんでした。来ないハピトレインを待つ必要はなかった。ハピトレインを待たなければいけないと思い、ずっと待ちました。 長いこと待っていると、すでにいしかわ電車が1本通過してしまいました。金沢行きの2本目の石川電車を見たとき、私は運転手に（英語で）私の領収書を使って金沢まで行くことができるか尋ねました。
石川電車の運転士は「はい」と答えた。日本語で。車内に座ったとき、運転手は私の質問を本当に理解したのだろうかと疑問に思いました。そこで私は外に出て、彼のガラス窓を指先で軽く叩きました。 彼は自宅の玄関にやって来ました。彼は邪魔されて怒っているのかもしれないと思いました。しかし、若いドライバーはとても親切で、一生懸命日本語で説明してくれました（意味は推測することしかできませんでしたが）。 レシートを見せると、左の列がハピ線、右の列がいしかわ鉄道（方向が違う）とのこと。彼はこの電車が金沢まで行けることを再度確認した。
最初は関西北陸パスにそんなにお金を払いたくありませんでした。そして、金沢、福井、富山エリアの7日間の観光を急ぎたくありませんでした。そして、すでに関西エリアも見てきました。そして私はもうKlookを信用しません。
ということで北陸新幹線には乗りませんでした。代わりに、あまりにも不定期で本数も少ないため、「ハピなし」となったハピトレインを選択しました。私たちは電車を待つのに多くの時間を無駄にした。石川電車の方が本数が多いです。
関西北陸パスを買わなくてよかったと今でも思っています。新大阪から金沢までの電車料金は、新幹線に乗らなくても安くなります。このレシートがハピ号・いしかわ号の両方で使えることをもっと早く知っていたら、もっと早く金沢に着いたのに。
