【富山・ホタルイカすくい2025】神秘の光探して夜の海にすごい人出 八重津浜をドキュメント72時間風に撮影
2025年3月1日未明から2日未明に撮影。今回は富山湾の春の風物詩、「ホタルイカの身投げ」を見るため富山市の八重津浜へ。身投げは、ホタルイカが大量に海岸に打ち上げられる現象で、新月の前後に起きやすい。夜の海岸には、ホタルイカを捕まえようと県内外から大勢の人が訪れる。そんな浜辺の様子をNHKのドキュメント72時間風に撮影してみた。はたして波打ち際に漂う神秘の光は見ることができるのか？

Hunt the Firefly Squid : Hundreds rush to Toyama’s night beach
Filmed from the early hours of March 1 to the early hours of March 2, 2025. This time, I headed to Yaezu Beach in Toyama City to witness the spring phenomenon of Toyama Bay, the “firefly squid beachings.” The beachings refer to the phenomenon where large numbers of firefly squid are washed ashore, which tends to occur around the time of the new moon. At night, the beach is crowded with people from both within and outside the Toyama prefecture, all hoping to catch firefly squid. I filmed the scene at the beach in the style of NHK’s documentary series “72 Hours.” Will I be able to capture the mysterious glow drifting along the water’s edge?
