Japan Vlog First Shrine of the Year Miyazaki Jingu [Miyazaki Shrine] 宮崎神宮

Welcome to Miyazaki Shrine! Japanese tradition is to visit a shrine at the beginning of the New Year. Some people will even head to the shrine as soon as the clock hits midnight. My wife’s family did that but we were unable to join them this time. It took us about 2 weeks to make it to our first shrine but we finally made it. We chose Miyazaki Shrine as the first as it was the place where our wedding ceremony in Japan was held. So it’s a special place for us. I hope you enjoy the video and let me know about your own New Year’s traditions. See ya in the next!

Miyazaki-jingū (宮崎神宮) is a Shinto shrine located in Miyazaki, Miyazaki prefecture, Japan. It is dedicated to Emperor Jimmu, Ugayafukiaezu and Tamayori-bime. The shrine buildings were built in 1907 using only Japanese cedar.
