Spectacular views of nature’s hidden gems. Feel the atmosphere of the place with all five senses. A trip to unexplored hotels in Tokushima and the spectacular scenery of Kochi. You can enjoy it in full caption by pressing the subtitle button or CC button. Hello everyone, my name is Watatabi. Yesterday, I stayed at Iya Bijin, a hidden inn in the valley, in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, and today I will stay at a hotel very close to that inn. The location is Nishi-Iyayama Village, located in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture. We will be staying at Iya Kei Onsen Hotel Hikyo-no-Yu, which is a 3-minute drive from the inn we stayed at yesterday. It’s right nearby, but I was impressed by the huge hotel in this unexplored area, so I made a reservation. I’m running low on gas, so I’m thinking of filling it up in Kochi Prefecture, which is right next door. Yesterday, I toured around the surrounding area, so today I would like to introduce you to some of Kochi Prefecture’s spectacular views while you pump up the gas. We have time to check in, so we head to a scenic spot that is easily accessible from Iya. From here, drive along National Route 439, commonly known as “Yosaku,” which is known as one of Japan’s three worst roads. This section is wide and not a steep road. It’s a quiet town. Proceeding further southwest through the mountainous region, we aim for Tosa Town in Kochi Prefecture. The scenery that was commonplace in the past remains here. For some reason, I feel nostalgic about this place, which has no connections or connections. I’ll take a detour. We arrived at “Roadside Station Tosa Sameura”. I came here because I heard that I could eat Tosa’s “Akaushi”. I’ll buy it right away. Eh! It’s a fantastic Wagyu beef with delicious lean meat, but unfortunately it’s only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Let’s take a look at the souvenirs. We sell a lot of Akaushi souvenirs. The Akaushi assortment costs 2,100 yen.The Tosa ponzu sauce is also delicious. Akaushi is on sale. amazing. It’s a pretty good price though. I don’t know about “Hachikin Jidori” in Okawa Village . There is also a wide variety of local sake. We also sell local vegetables around here. I bought a lot of salt. Well, it’s a souvenir from Kochi. Muroto sea salt and… “Millet Sandwich” This Millet Sandwich has cream sandwiched in between. It’s strawberry flavored. Furikake from Tosa Akaushi. This drink uses yuzu from Tosa Reihoku. I bought shiso juice because I had it.It ‘s called neglected cultivation… It really looks like Shiso that has been grown neglected. I also bought the undiluted solution. This is a really small roadside station, but it has a wide selection of souvenirs and local specialties. It’s rare to find a roadside station with so many special products lined up. Hey, please step back. I don’t notice it at all. Ah, you noticed. I think everyone goes to Nikobuchi, but no matter which river you go to, it’s always beautiful. So, isn’t it a good idea to go to a place with a lot of tourists? yes! That’s exactly where we’re going from now! A very retro townscape. There’s probably a parking lot too. We arrived at the parking lot for Gongen Falls. I thought it was on the other side of this torii gate, but it looks like this. Let’s go right away. The road is easy to walk. By the way, it looks like it’s 200 meters to the waterfall. There’s a river running next to it, and it’s really beautiful. So I’m really looking forward to seeing how beautiful the waterfall is. picture? ! Amazing! No, this is amazing! It’s so amazing! After walking for a few minutes, you will see the red bridge. The fresh greenery was beautiful and the surrounding area looked like a painting. And a river that sparkles in clear blue. The harmony of green nature and man-made objects creates a uniquely Japanese atmosphere. A waterfall can be seen at the end of the red bridge. The surrounding sounds were drowned out by the sound of the waterfall. Mitaru Gongen Waterfall Known only to those in the know, the small waterfall “Taru” with a drop of about 7 meters is a basin from which water flows.“Gongen” means that a Bodhisattva appears as a god to save the human world.NiyodoThe blue basin of the waterfall “Nikobuchi” is famous, and it is as beautiful as “Nikobuchi”. I later learned that the basin of the waterfall is unusual and has a star-shaped shape when viewed from above. There is no one in this Golden Week. Wow! amazing! Wow, that’s amazing! Really amazing! The color of the river is amazing. Wow! Amazing! No, this is too beautiful! The waterfall is also very impressive. I’m not sure if it’s okay to go in, but it’s nice to play in the water in the summer. The basin of the waterfall seems to be quite deep. The water drops are dripping down from there all the way to the bottom. It’s mysterious. The river water is so cold that I can’t soak my hands in it for more than 10 seconds. If you have a chance to come near here, please stop by. I really recommend it. Then I’ll go back. It was really good. The road is about 200 meters long and there are no ups or downs, so it is an easy place to get to. Head to your next destination. I found one more place that looked good so I headed there. It looks like you are entering a forest road from here. It seems to be about 25 minutes by car from Gongen Falls. Is this the left? lie? Eh, narrow! It’s climbing great. Climb! I wish I had put gas in first… Can you go? I can go! We drive further into the mountains. It’s climbing more and more. The road is also a bit bad. That’s a great road. Wow! fear! There’s a cliff on the right. It’s quite steep. Isn’t it impossible? Wait a minute, wait a minute. fear! The cliff on the right is really scary! This is life or death… You’re saying too much. The left side is the way you just came. That’s amazing. Even though I was just getting gas, it turned out to be a big adventure… This right? Can you come up? Can you come up? It’s good to get off, but… There’s a trap, a trap. Is it compatible? It’s a dead end. this? here? Ah, this is the parking lot. Let’s walk from here. We have arrived. I’ve arrived, but I don’t know where to go from here… I’ll try following this path. Beneath this rock… something is enshrined. It’s a very quiet place. All you can hear is the sound of the river flowing and the chirping of birds. You’ve come to a fairly high altitude. It looks like there is a waterfall and a temple, so I would like to take a look. there was. It was right next to the parking lot. Jizo statues are lined up. It’s well managed. Oh amazing! That’s really admirable. A waterfall is flowing from above the temple. I’m not sure if it can be called a waterfall since there isn’t much water, but… cool. A waterfall is flowing from above like this. There is a gaping hole at the bottom of this huge rock wall, and a temple is built there. This waterfall becomes a river and flows downward. This is what it looks like inside. I don’t know if the lights will turn on, but I wonder if they will? As expected, the electricity won’t turn on. The top is rocky. Mold has grown on it and it’s hard to see, but it looks like it’s been standing here for a long time. There are stairs on the other side. It continues all the way to the top. I’ll go there for a while. It’s a place that really fascinates me. What is this? It’s quite tiring… The stairs are getting narrower and narrower. In the end, it is narrow enough for one person to pass through. It’s very cool. Something like this is enshrined. It’s quite steep. It was often built in a place like this. i’m back. It looks amazing from here. Can you convey how grand this is? Although no detailed history remains, this is the place where Kobo Daishi is said to have trained. It is said that Kobo Daishi came to this valley to open a sacred place in Shikoku. It is said that he could not open a sacred place without 88 valleys, so he asked an old woman if she would hand over one valley to her. The old woman refused, saying, “This valley has been used for farming for a long time, and if we did this, it would be difficult to eat.” It is said that a sacred place could not be created within one valley. There is also a proper toilet here. I’m going. Shall we climb? Wow! ! I can’t climb… what should I do? Wait a minute, I won’t climb… Wait a minute… I’ll gain momentum! I was able to go… Oh, I was surprised… I thought I wouldn’t be able to climb it. I’m suddenly tired right now… lie? Are you running 4km? Will you pass again? Is this… Tooru Kazama? A fantastical area where many villages exist on steep slopes. There is a hotel in Iya, which is called one of Japan’s three most unexplored regions. It seems that the secret hot spring is closed on holidays. Doesn’t that mean there are no day trip bathers? We have arrived. This is “Iya Kei Onsen Hotel Hikyou no Yu”. This also looks like a hot spring facility. It looks like we’re closed today. There is a fairly large hotel and another building further back. Let’s get into it right away. The room we will be staying in this time is called “1606”. I’ll enter for now. The entrance looks like this and is quite a spacious space. Immediately to the right from the entrance is a closet, and this is also the same closet. Opposite that is the bath. It’s a bath and toilet. This is the toilet. The bath and shower look like this. It’s beautiful. This is your room. There are several types, but I chose the Japanese modern one. The size of the room is 8 tatami mats. This is a space where you can relax. This is the 6th floor of the annex, but the annex has up to the 7th floor. So you will be in a room one room below the top floor. What kind of scenery is it? dazzling. It’s like this. It’s located quite high up. This window can be opened all the way, but this one hits here. So it’s like this. Here’s the pot. They’ll prepare some tea for you. Below that is the refrigerator. There’s nothing special in the refrigerator. It has a very simple floor plan. There is a TV and a safe here. A dressing table, yukata, and towels are provided here. The towel looks like this, green and blue… It says Oboke Iya Onsenkyo Hotel Hikyo no Yu. There was such a cute bag. There are tabi socks, and this is a yukata. So I arrived at my room…but I was not allowed to take pictures of anything other than the room and the food. So I’ll attach a photo from the HP. This is a map of the hotel. There are three buildings, but the smallest building on the left will be the hot spring. This hot spring is the same for both overnight guests and day-trippers, and the entrance is the main building. The one on the right will be the annex. This time we will be staying in room 1606 on the 6th floor of the annex. There is a front desk immediately after entering through the entrance. There is a lobby on the left and a store on the right. The second floor seems to have a microwave, vending machines, karaoke, a banquet hall, and a conference room. There is also a banquet hall on the 6th floor. There is also a hearth banquet hall. The 7th floor above is the large hall. The first floor of the annex is a banquet hall, and the second floor is a banquet hall called Hagi no Ma. The rooms from the second floor onwards are guest rooms. All you have to do is go to your room in the annex… First, enter through the main entrance and there is an elevator on your left, so go up to the 6th floor. From the 6th floor, cross the passageway and go up to the 6th floor of the annex. Finally, you will find this room at the end. This hotel only has hot springs in this hot spring building, so those staying in the annex building have to walk quite a distance to get to the hot springs here. Therefore, it is not recommended for people with walking problems. If you’re going to stay overnight, it’s probably closer to staying in the main building. This hot spring is a large public bath and seems to have a sauna called a salt sauna. But it doesn’t seem to be available in the morning. It is from 15:00 to 21:00. The public bath is open from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. I only received one key, so it’s a bit inconvenient when two people go to a hot spring together. One thing to keep in mind when staying in the annex is… Wi-Fi is not available. It looks like you can use the main building though. Wi-Fi does not seem to be available in the hot spring building and annex. There were sweets on the desk. It says “Gyokuro Meijin”. What’s inside… ? Is it chocolate? I’ll try it. It tastes like matcha chocolate. The room plan is a standard plan. I’m not sure if it’s a Golden Week price, but it was around 35,000 yen for 2 adults, including breakfast and dinner. I’m sure some people are concerned about this, but you can hear a lot of walking in the hallway and people talking next door. I’m going to the hot spring. I took a bath. The spring quality is hydrogen carbonate spring. While taking a bath, my skin felt smooth. The bathhouse is extremely large. It’s very spacious and has a sauna called a salt sauna and a fairly small open-air bath. There was also a medicinal hot spring called Yomogi no Yu. The hot spring was closed today, and there were no day trip bathers, so I took it easy. There were only about 2 or 3 people there. The quality of the spring water was really good. The spring temperature was neither hot nor lukewarm, so I think it was around 42 degrees. I have a dinner reservation for 6 o’clock, so I’m going to head out for dinner now. The dining hall looks like this and has a great view. Dinner is like this. This is “Yammomo Wine” from Tokushima Prefecture. Let’s start with alcohol. It’s easy to drink. I thought it would be harsh, but despite the smell, it’s really easy to drink. This is sesame tofu with a stick out. This is Iya’s famous rock tofu. There is also amago sashimi. This looks like sea bream and trout marinated in Nanban. This is a local dish called “Obihime nabe.” First up is konnyaku. It’s delicious. Is this a trout? It looks like Yukou Squash is a fruit grown in Tokushima. Ah, it’s delicious. Citrus, citrus flavor. This is Sudachi. Yukou is more delicious. Amago sashimi. It doesn’t hit the bone. Rock tofu. It’s a bit hard tofu. This tofu is hard. But it has a great tofu flavor. Trout pickled in Nanban. The menu says it’s salmon. Ah, it’s delicious. This is Miki Nabe. It looks like a pig called Awa Kintoki Pig. It seems like there is no need to add flavor. It has local sake and something… I forgot what it was. It looks like you can eat it as is. White rice from Tokushima has arrived. delicious. There is Awa Kintoki Pig. a! delicious. This pork is delicious. The soup stock is quite gentle. This is “Salt-grilled Amego”. In this country, it seems that “Amago” is called “Amego”. I say it bluntly. delicious. But it’s not piping hot. The rice is smooth. Are you drinking? I’m drinking. The soup stock in this hot pot is so delicious that I want to drink it all. You can make rice with just the stock from the pot. If you make rice porridge with this, it will be really delicious. This is Iya soba. It’s surprisingly soft. Dessert is a mango roll cake. mango. Amazing mango. Mangoes are like eating mango pulp. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. I’m back. He’s laying out the futon for you. I ate at 6 o’clock and now it’s just before 7 o’clock, but it’s still quite bright and it’s already summer. It was just rice, but it was really delicious. Personally, I felt like I wanted a little more quantity. I’m about 80% full. My wife says it’s just the right amount. Men may feel that the amount is a little small. It’s still daylight and I still have time, so I’ll work on my computer today and then go to bed. It’s only been 10 minutes, but it’s already dark. good morning. I’m going to take a bath in the morning now. I went to a hot spring. The quality of the hot springs here is really good. When I come in in the morning, I wake up. I’m going to the breakfast venue. The breakfast venue is on the 7th floor of the main building. Thank you for the meal. It’s a complete meal. Let’s check it out. I had some time after leaving the hotel, so I went to the village of Higashi-Iya, where the original scenery of Japan still remains, and ate some Iya soba. This time we visited the spectacular views of Tokushima and Kochi prefectures, what did you think? See you in the next video! Thank you for watching until the end.

  1. I very much enjoyed the beautiful nature you shared in this video, especially the beautiful Mitaru Gongen waterfall, so thank you for sharing your adventures with us Watatabi-San.

The hotel is too big for me. And if you are staying in the annex, going to the public bath is quite far. Also, no Wi-Fi ? Thats really unusual. And I dont like public baths that are open to day visitors. They should be open only to guests of the hotel in my opinion.

  2. Ciao Watatabi😊 Un saluto dall'italia!

  5. On such dificult trails super skills in driving are required. I bow to your skills and your great co-driver at your side. The video is great, exciting and relaxing🥰

  6. Thank you for sharing this trip, the inn was ok but the food looked interesting and good, my favourite thing was the beautiful blue pool and nature around the waterfall.

  10. Beautiful video with lotsa great sceneries… Japan is so beautiful ❤ May I know what size is your drone used in the aeriel shots? 🙏🏻
