Aichi to Hokkaido adventure, overnight stay in a light truck camper! Light truck camper YADO CARRY review. We borrowed a demo light truck camper made by Yumezo Agency in Hokkaido and overnight stay in the car. It’s a 4-number, not an 8-number, light truck camper. When taking it for inspection, you can remove the shell and just use the car. You can overnight stay in the car. The shell part is made of FRP with a one-piece structure for handling cargo, making it extremely strong and lighter than wood or metal. First, let’s take a look inside. Two people can sit facing each other and the bunk part is for storing luggage. We’ll explain in detail later. There are three types of shell interiors: one with a facing table and shelf, and one that can be used as a bunk or sofa . We’ll introduce the bench seat package later . You can climb up and down by attaching a ladder to the door. There are holes to secure the ladder, making it stable. The door and ladder have Velcro, so they won’t fall off even while driving. The open door can be fixed to the shell , so the shell needs to be locked with the shell. There is an external power supply at the back of the shell . If you’re in an RV park, you can get power . The shell is for the Hijet Jumbo Wide. There are three types: for the Hijet Jumbo and standard light trucks. Merging onto the highway requires a lot of determination . As you’d expect from a light truck! The maneuverable digital rearview mirror is the best!! Even though I can see so well, I wouldn’t use this car as my main car… but it’s totally fine as a car for camping and overnight stays!! The windows are fitted with screens on both sides, and if you turn on the exhaust fan, the breeze can pass through. There is storage space under the bench seat. The sub-battery is under the bench seat at the back. The sub-battery is charged while driving + solar powered. He doesn’t sleep in the bunk, but uses it as a place to store light items. Q: Why don’t you sleep on the bunk? A : It would be a problem if you fell asleep. That’s a cute reason. The height of the bunk is 1136-1236mm (Depending on the type of shell) Q: How is it after driving it for 3 months? A: It’s nice, comfortable and it’s practically a home. Marunana owns only this car. Compared to other cars, the visibility to the rear and sides is poor. When riding in other cars, you’re completely visible, which is surprising. The size is a kei car, so it’s about the same as a regular car. It’s 250cm tall, so be careful!! Because it’s tall, it’s vulnerable to wind, and you have to be careful of the wind when passing trucks. Do you want driving performance or livability? Taxes, vehicle inspections and maintenance costs are low because it’s a kei car. The galley, shoebox and bed width are optional. It’s much wider than the Step WGN he usually drives. It’s surprisingly spacious , more than you’d expect from a kei car. These are real opinions from owners! The car we borrowed came with an optional awning tent. Once we set it up, it instantly felt like we were camping . It started to rain, but thanks to the awning tent we were able to spend time outside. Cheers to Hokkaido! We had a wonderful camping experience, enjoying Nana’s homemade chanchanyaki, which has a mysterious shiso lemon flavor. Now, it’s time to enjoy sleeping in the car! ♪ First, let’s pack up! The car is the perfect size, so we can’t store it anywhere… We put the storage table away and expanded it into a bed. It can sleep two people, and the windows have optional screens. The windows are flip-up to keep rain out. The ventilation fan is a standard feature. You can lock it by lifting the doorknob. There’s a light switch next to the entrance . You can also use a portable power source or a sub-battery. The space car is for storage, not sleeping, so you can’t expand it to lie down. The divider keeps your belongings safe while driving. Lowering the board makes it easy to take things in and out. There’s a sliding shelf for easy access . It would be good to store frequently used items. Time for tea. The outlet’s out of reach… but I’m glad I brought an extension cord. I wonder if the water will boil, since it’s just a small appliance, so I’ll boil it slowly. Before bed, I’ll mix a decaffeinated cafe au lait bag. It feels like the outdoors if I lived here… And so, I enjoy my fantasy . It’s a quick , relaxing experience . If I were to cook in this car, I wouldn’t be able to plug it in… an extension cord would be necessary. If the outlet could be moved, it would be good near the table. The storage compartment on the table would be convenient , perhaps an optional extra? It would be good for coffee or condiments. The double-sized bed could sleep three if I tried, but it was only meant to accommodate two people… At 160cm tall, there’s about 15cm of extra space . The remote control is convenient. The windows and vent fan made it possible to sleep comfortably while driving. It’s thick and extremely comfortable. There’s storage space under the seat. That’s where the fuel for the FF heater is. I pressed the mysterious remote control, and… the FF heater was on… I thought Hokkaido was hot, but it was my fault. The FF heater (optional) is a welcome addition in the middle of winter. The window air conditioner is also optional. Sleeping in the car in the summer in Honshu can be tough without air conditioning… Introducing the YADO CARRY’s basic equipment: Vent, air vent, front hatch-style storage door (jumbo only). Apparently there are three outlets… where’s the hidden third one??? 1 internal input (100V) 1 external input (100V) Choose from three interior options. If two people are sleeping in the car, the bench seat package or the facing-seat package seems most comfortable. For solo travelers, the price for the shell alone starts at 1.6 million yen. There are plenty of options beyond the basic equipment . For camping, an awning tent would be a good idea. My 2000Wh (maybe even 1600Wh) portable battery is at 70%. It’s used for charging lights, cameras, and a few other appliances. It’s less battery than I expected, considering I only have a few appliances. Is it because I left the fan on all the time? Now, let’s move on. If you already own a light truck, you can get one for 1.6 million yen or more, so I’m very satisfied with this quality!! If you’re considering it, it might be a good idea to take a test drive! I introduced the YADO CARRY! Driving a light truck camper was a challenge, but I managed it! It was comfortable inside, and I could easily sleep in Hokkaido even in the summer! It really felt the difference from Aichi Prefecture, and it was fun! Since I had a great time with Marunana and Midori Campground, I’m going to have lunch now and then go on a solo car camping trip. The car camping trip video will continue in the next issue!
