【2025,夏旅】新日本海フェリーで北海道へ！1週間 2000kmの旅。

Welcome ! We’ve arrived at the ferry terminal for Hokkaido. We board the Shin Nihonkai Ferry at Maizuru Port, Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture . The voyage from Maizuru Port to Otaru Port is 1,080 km and takes approximately 21 hours. We reset the trip meter at Maizuru Port. I wonder how many kilometers we’ll cover this time? We begin boarding and check our boarding tickets. Hokkaido-exclusive beer is an annual ritual. (Once on board, we eat beer and instant noodles.) It’s been a while. Cheers! Farewell, Maizuru Port. The weather worsened as we headed north the next day . About 20 hours after departure, we soon arrived at Otaru Port. It was time to disembark. Our long voyage came to an end. We disembarked and landed in Hokkaido. We headed straight for ramen! We drove about 38 km from Otaru Port, heading for Sapporo City. The temperature was a cool 24°C. I ordered the miso butter corn. The rich miso soup was delicious, satisfying both my heart and stomach. Since it would be a waste to sleep, I decided to ride at night. I rode from Sapporo to Cape Erimo. It’s about 225km. See you at Cape Erimo! From Sapporo, it was mostly rain. I arrived at Cape Erimo. My destination was the Erimo Tourist Center. You can see the whole picture of Cape Erimo in last year’s video. This time, I only visited the Erimo Tourist Center. I usually arrive at Cape Erimo and the Erimo Tourist Center after closing time, so this was my first visit. Inside, there were souvenirs and a restaurant. I finally got to eat at Cape Erimo. I ordered the Cape Erimo specialty, shio ramen. The vegetable and seafood broth blended with the soup, creating an incredible umami flavor. It was the best shio ramen I’ve ever eaten. It’s a powder packed with umami. I added the umami of kelp. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. It started raining so hard I couldn’t see a few meters ahead, making filming difficult, so I’ll shorten the video a bit. For the second half of the first day, we went from Cape Erimo to Obihiro City. The weather was bad again the next day, so I’ll skip the video. Ashoro Town, the hometown of Hokkaido-famous singer Chiharu Matsuyama, is located at the Ashoro Galaxy Center Roadside Station . His song is playing from the monument in front of his memorial hall . We had lunch in Ashoro Town, 140 meters from the roadside station, a two-minute walk. I ordered a pork bowl. The miso-based, sweet and spicy soy sauce-based sauce clung to the pork, whetting my appetite. It’s a hidden gem, and they even sell the pork bowl sauce. I ate it in no time. The rain was getting heavier again. I’ll skip the video until we reached the campsite where we’ll be staying tonight. We drove about 194 km from Ashoro Town to Hamanaka Town. We arrived at the campsite. There were many travelers chatting at the campsite, so I wasn’t able to film any videos. It’s a free campsite. And so, our second day in Hokkaido came to an end. The real thing starts tomorrow!
