【茨城の涼!】特濃豆腐と宇宙から見えた神の巣窟を発見!【御岩神社】
There’s a tofu shop! It’s tofu! And it’s actually busy! Wait, it says donuts or something. Tofu donuts?! Wanna check it out? Oh, yeah, sounds good! You can get natural spring water here. Wow! The tofu shop… Are they making their tofu with this water? I think so. It’s gotta be good! Is that natural spring water? Of course it is. The whole place smells like delicious donuts! Looks so good. There’s a bunch of them right here. They’re freshly made! Over here they’ve got fried tofu. For real? Looks delicious! They even set out chopsticks and soy sauce for us! They’ve got it all ready so you can eat right away! Yeah! Wanna have tofu for breakfast? That’s a great idea. Which one do you want? Got it! Yep, we got it! Which one did you pick? The plain fluffy fried tofu and the green soybean one. That’s what it says here. And the okara donuts too. These are all solid picks from the tofu shop. They look so good! I can’t wait! Yeah. Tofu and soy sauce are the perfect combo. Alright then, I’m digging in first! Okay! Starting with the plain one. It’s 9:30 in the morning. So it’s freshly made! It’s still warm. Yep! The shop opens at 9:00, so… it’s still warm. This is good even without soy sauce. Seriously! It’s got flavor on its own? Yeah! It’s packed with rich tofu umami. Super soy-beany? Yeah, it’s like pure soybeans. I almost regret putting soy sauce on this. That much? Yeah. It’s insanely good. My turn! Yes. I’ll try the green soybean one. This is crazy… Let me show you. Look at how thick it is! It’s perfect. That natural tofu sweetness just bursts out! You were right—it’s sweet! Totally! Let’s try the donut too. Go for it! This should be freshly fried too. So good! You know, it’s not like a punch-you-in-the-face kind of sweet. It’s a gentle, subtle sweetness. And even though it’s fried, it’s not heavy at all. You’re right! Right? It’s really light and gentle. You can really taste that it’s homemade. Honestly, none of this makes me feel guilty at all. It’s so comforting! Even eating this, it doesn’t feel like it’d make you gain weight. Yeah, not convincing from us chubby ones. I’ll smack you! It’s the oldest shrine around here. Yep. The Oiwa Shrine. Kosuke pronounces it “Miiwa,” but the correct reading is “Oiwa.” Sorry about that. It’s beautiful! It has a sacred presence! This feels like a really historic place. You know what? It’s written “Jōriku,” but pronounced “Hitachi.” I see. Yeah. Okay. The oldest shrine in the Hitachi area. It’s pronounced “Hitachi-Ōta City.” Yeah. So this is the oldest shrine. This place has been a site of worship since around 14,000 BC. Even today, 188 gods are enshrined here. That many? Yeah! There’s also a story that an American astronaut said he saw a pillar of light rising to the sky from this spot when looking from space. Is this place a UFO spot? This… definitely… got influenced by some spiritual power. This is the work of spiritual power! Doesn’t this look like the Deer God? Don’t you get a “Shishigami-mi” vibe from this? “Shishigami-mi” is hard to say. Feel the Shishigami-mi! No! It’s too hard to say. Oh, shut up! Watch your mouth. I got called out. Shishigami-mi. Isn’t that stone lantern huge? Look at this size! Yeah! It’s huge! See this size? Yeah. It’s really huge! Huge!! I had no idea a place like this existed. Right! I’m still like, wow. Apparently, there’s a sacred cedar tree here with a trunk that splits into three. I see. I’m pretty sure the tree that just appeared in front of us is the sacred one. The Sanbon-Sugi Ceadar. Huge!! So it’s actually one trunk at the base! Exactly! It starts as one trunk, then splits into three partway up. It’s incredible. No wonder it feels so divine! Man, this place is full of surprises. For sure, it’s totally a power spot. You can really feel the sacred vibe here. Also, it’s way bigger than I expected. Yeah, it’s huge. It’s like full-on forest therapy out here. There’s this strange feeling… like we’re being drawn deeper into the heart of the forest. A gentle stream runs right through the shrine grounds. Yeah. The stream, and these trees that look like they’ve been here for centuries… The atmosphere they create… I guess you’d call it majestic? Totally. That’s the perfect word for it. The moss is growing in every nook. Look at this beautiful moss! Yeah. It’s unbelievably beautiful. So lush… Like a wig commercial. Aderans〜♪ A prayer wheel for enlightenment… Spin it up, and your wishes for this life come true. Turn it down, and it’s for the next life’s wishes. I made a wish. I wished for something in this life. What did you wish for? My wish is a big one. But I’m not supposed to tell anyone, right? I don’t really know, but that’s the vibe, right? Yeah, I get that feeling too. I’ll take a little help from the bodai wheel. Once we finished praying and circled around, we came across this mountain trail called Omotesandō. Okay. But this path seems more for training than casual hiking. No sandals, no heels… and no babies allowed. The path goes up from here and leads all the way to Mt. Oiwa’s 530-meter summit. Mt. Oiwa, 530 meters… that’s tough if you’re not ready. Totally. This is legit mountain hiking. So for today,… Just the entrance… Yeah. Let’s show what it’s like. Here’s the start of the path…. And yeah, we’re not going any farther today. See that? Climbing hours are from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. That’s actually pretty early. Man, what a spot we discovered. Honestly, this place feels like a hidden gem. Yeah. Anyone who loves power spots should totally come here. I mean, we totally just found this by accident, right? Yeah. How do I even say this? Back when we couldn’t figure out where to shoot, we just happened to find this place. It almost feels like we were called here. Like, ‘Hey, drop by for a bit!’ you know? Yeah, that’s exactly how it felt. No idea why, but I said it in Kansai dialect. But you’re right. I mean, we randomly found tofu too! It’s not far from the tofu place, either. Yeah, exactly. It’s right next door. We tasted the local flavors… and somehow, they led us here. I think we truly had a really special experience. I’d say this shrine pretty much represents Japan itself. I think so too. It’s got both a sense of history and a sense of the divine. Yeah. I love this place. Our next stop’s a waterfall. Apparently it’s less than an hour from here. Let’s head over there.
