【東京 グルメ】町中華ラスボス級の名店5選!旨すぎる!東京三大炒飯から1日1000個売り上げる餃子の名店まで不動の人気を誇る名店中の名店
[Music] Hi, it’s KT. KT EATS, where we eat everything from long-established restaurants to B-grade gourmet , introduces five famous local Chinese restaurants. These aren’t just trendy spots, but rather enduringly popular, last-ditch favorites, so please enjoy until the end. Our first restaurant is a long-established establishment founded in 1932 in the tourist-filled Asakusa area, beloved by locals for many years. It was nearly full after 1:00 on a weekday. Everyone was enjoying their lunchtime drinks, creating a great atmosphere. This popular restaurant sees lines day and night, even on weekdays, so we recommend arriving early. Here’s the menu. They have a wide selection of bottled drinks. While you can find Hoppy in downtown Tokyo, they don’t stock non-alcoholic beer. They also offer jasmine tea with shochu, but since we were driving, we chose jasmine tea. They had a bottle of cola, so we ordered that too. The fried rice arrived. It was luxurious, with chunks of pork fillet. This dish is overflowing with juicy pork slices, and the pork slices are absolutely delicious . The generous portions of naruto and egg make for a satisfyingly satisfying meal. The fried rice comes with this Chinese soup. It has the same base as ramen, but with a slightly sour, delicious flavor. [Music] While gyoza is often associated with Chinese cuisine, many long-established Tokyo restaurants specialize in shumai (steamed dumplings) rather than gyoza. For some reason, this shumai, which has remained unchanged since the restaurant’s founding, is garnished with seaweed. It ‘s specially double-steamed: once to allow the flavors to fully infuse, and then steamed again for a final touch . I love vinegar, so I enjoy it with vinegar and pepper. The juicy meat and the sweetness of the onions are irresistible. The dough from Asakusa Kaikaro, a long-established noodle maker, is also smooth and delicious. The current, fourth-generation chef is a huge fan of omurice, which is why this popular omurice fried rice, with plenty of egg, was born. Like the fried rice, the filling inside is large pieces of pork slices, naruto, green onions, and a runny egg. This one is rich with sweet ketchup. The egg is soft and fluffy, and addictively delicious. The chashu is absolutely delicious, so I ordered the chashu noodles. The soup is a beautiful amber color. Apparently, it also uses bonito, kelp, and pig’s feet. The ramen noodles are also from Kaikaro, and are slightly lower in water content, which is irresistible. They ‘re chewy and have a wonderful wheat aroma. The chashu is this thick. It’s soft and delicious. Our next restaurant, located right next to Edogawabashi Station on the Kanda River, was founded in 1972. It’s one of the top three fried rice restaurants in Kagurazaka, attracting fried rice lovers from far and wide. It’s a popular restaurant that always has a long line, so please be considerate of neighbors when queuing. I arrived 20 minutes before closing on a Saturday night, but if you’re planning on visiting right after opening, it might be better to come before opening or if you have more time. Beer is the only alcoholic beverage available. The menu is available outside. When you enter, first purchase a ticket from the ticket machine . The restaurant is bright and homey, and the staff are kind and courteous. First, the fried rice soup arrived. It was delicious, with a clear broth and the rich flavor of soy sauce. It came with pickles. The fried rice, the restaurant’s signature dish and number one hit, arrived. It was a regular portion, but it was incredibly filling. [Music] It was filled with generous chunks of pork shoulder roast pork. The rice was light and fluffy . The aroma of soy sauce was outstanding, making it the most fragrant I’ve ever had. It was irresistible. The gyoza dumplings , the perfect match for the fried rice, were coarsely ground, crisp on the outside and juicy in the bite. We also had the summer-only chilled Chinese noodles. This one, too, was chock-full of thick slices of pork. Other toppings included shredded egg, naruto fish, cucumber, and pickled ginger. [Music] It was light and had just the right amount of tartness. The simple, refreshing sauce was great. The noodles were also incredibly delicious. [Music] [Music] Another popular dish was the chive soba. It was piled high with chives, bean sprouts, and carrots, and also contained a generous amount of meat. The rich flavor of meat and seafood. The richness of the soy sauce is irresistible. The plump noodles are also chewy and delicious. Adding the garlic on the table towards the end is addictive. The next restaurant was founded in 1965. It has been loved in this area for 60 years and is a famous restaurant widely featured in the media. This is a really cool restaurant that looks like it could be in an authentic movie. I took this photo after closing time, but it is always full during business hours. The famous dragon fried rice has arrived. The fragrant garlic aroma is wonderful. The rice is light and fluffy, not at all oily, and the chives and garlic are refreshing. It’s irresistible. The fried rice is served with this soup. This soup is also deep and flavorful. Minmin is a well-known gyoza restaurant, and they apparently hand-wrap 1,000 gyoza every day. Most customers order these gyoza. The filling is made with pork, chives, green onions, Chinese cabbage, garlic, and ginger. It’s pre-seasoned, so it’s delicious even without any dipping sauce. The gyoza are crispy on the outside, and the chewy skin is irresistible. The filling is juicy, and the meat is juicy and incredibly delicious. This restaurant is said to be the birthplace of “sushi kosho,” and the staff made the sauce for us. It ‘s refreshing and delicious. I also had the yakisoba. The toppings are pork, chives, and bean sprouts. The seasoning is very simple, and the short, flat noodles are delicious. The accompanying spicy miso sauce doubles the flavor. It’s addictive. [Music] Our next restaurant is located in the tranquil, adult neighborhood of Kagurazaka. Established in 1978, it’s known as one of Tokyo’s three great fried rice restaurants and was even featured in the TV drama “Solitary Gourmet.” While there’s always a line, thankfully, they’re open all day, so I visited around 2 p.m., when it was relatively quiet. There’s no menu, so you order verbally from the menu posted outside or the one posted on the wall inside. Jazz music plays inside, creating a relaxed atmosphere. While this popular restaurant often sees long lines at lunchtime, the service is incredibly fast, so you don’t have to wait long to get in. It’s said to be one of Tokyo’s top three fried rice restaurants, with about five options. Of course, I ordered fried rice, but when I asked about other popular dishes, I was recommended the Twice Cooked Pork. Apparently, Goro ate Twice Cooked Pork here in the drama “Solitary Gourmet.” First came the fried rice. It featured large chunks of pork and a generously sized egg. The rice was also large and shiny. You can order a large portion for an additional 300 yen, but be aware that the portion is about double the serving. The soup that came with the fried rice looked like this. It was like an emulsified soup. It had a rich, deep flavor of soybean miso. The toppings were pork, cabbage, green peppers, and green onions. Each portion was large and satisfying. [Music] I also had some chilled Chinese noodles. Ryuho is also famous for its chilled Chinese noodles, and many customers ordered them on the day we visited. [Music] The noodles are chewy and irresistibly springy. They mix well with the sauce. The mild sauce is exquisite. The mustard here is also delicious. [Music] The ramen’s char siu is quite thick. The rich umami flavor of meat and seafood. The fragrant aroma of soy sauce and burnt green onions is irresistible. The chewy, springy noodles are also delicious. This is a must-try when visiting Ryuho. Established in 1957, this is a long-time favorite in Kagurazaka. It takes about 10 minutes, but you can have freshly steamed buns prepared if you wish. The original meat buns, a tradition passed down from the founder. These are large and impressive. Compared to regular meat buns, they are about two to three times heavier. The fluffy dough is filled with plenty of meat dripping with juice. The seasoning is elegant and delicious. It’s very filling. After Ryuho, this steamed bun might be a bit too much, but I would definitely recommend this new dish. The filling is just a generous amount of cheese. The truffle flavor is irresistible. I’ve been to Toyosu Market Station KT on the Yurikamome Line many times, and if you want to eat something delicious in Tokyo , you can’t go wrong here. Toyosu Market is one of the world’s largest fresh fish markets, and is visited by many tourists both from Japan and overseas. The market is primarily a dining area for market workers, so it’s not exactly a place where tourists can relax and enjoy a meal. While resting areas aren’t available, the food here is so excellent that even food professionals frequent it. Founded in Tsukiji in 1948, this renowned restaurant has long been a favorite of market workers and a driving force behind the market. This is a Friday-only menu item: a special roast pork fried rice dish overflowing with chunks of pork belly. This dish is especially popular on Fridays, when it’s particularly busy . The fried rice comes with this Chinese soup. The fluffy egg is delicious . The rice is plump and light. The tender pork belly and rice blend perfectly together, creating a truly exquisite dish. The ramen seasoning is exquisite. While Yajiman offers a full or half serving of shumai, this set includes shumai, fried chicken, and a fried egg. The shumai at Toyosu are large. The juices are sealed in by a single, translucent, thin skin. The meat is coarsely ground. Tender and juicy. The meat is delicious even without any seasonings, but when you visit Tsukiji or Toyosu, you’ll definitely want some sauce on your shumai. Both the fried chicken and the fried chicken are crispy, and the meat is tender and juicy. Apparently, they’re seasoned with the broth from the pork slices, making them a fantastic snack or side dish. Speaking of ramen, the most popular dish by market workers is the chive soba. It’s topped with pork, chives, wood ear mushrooms, onions, and octopus, making it a hearty meal. The soup is rich and deeply spicy. The noodles are chewy and delicious. They don’t get soggy even after a while. The chewy texture is also fantastic. [Music] We also tried the popular chilled Chinese noodles. The sweet sauce and tartness are irresistible. In the summer, try Yajiman’s special, traditional chilled Chinese noodles, and be thrilled by the exquisite mustard. So, what did you think of these five local Chinese dishes? If you thought they looked delicious, please give them a thumbs up. If you think that local Chinese food, which is not authentic Chinese food but Chinese food that has been magically modified in Japan , is the best, please give us a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel!
