福岡旅行 グルメ 天神・博多観光 おすすめレストラン紹介part1 天神周辺エリア編
Hello, starting from today, I will be splitting my blog into three parts and introducing about 20+ restaurants in Fukuoka, mainly in Hakata, that I would try if I were to return to Fukuoka after XX years as a tourist . However, just like Spain, Fukuoka has a mountain of restaurants I want to try, from nostalgic places to new places , and if I try to go here and there, I end up with about 80 restaurants in just this small area around Hakata, which can be overwhelming and head-scratching, but I will introduce the restaurants that I managed to “try” out during my one-week stay. However, at a few stores, I was so engrossed in eating that I once again made the mistake of forgetting to take photos and videos, but please forgive me as those stores were just that good . Also, as with the previous domestic sections, I will be introducing the locations of the stores on Google Maps along with their ratings, so please use this as a reference. Also, as with the previous sections, I will be introducing the area in three major sections to help you get around efficiently. In this Part 1, I will be covering the area around Tenjin Subway Station. In the next Part 2, I will be covering the area around Tenjin Minami Subway Station and the bakeries in the recently popular Ropponmatsu area . I will also be introducing Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. After that, in Part 3, I will be introducing the area around Hakata Station. So, let’s get started with this area. As expected, the first stop is the classic, Hakata Ryotei Chikae Daimyo Main Branch. It was founded in 1961, making it 64 years old. It is said that it first started as an udon restaurant. It is located in the center of Hakata. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway , and it’s highly rated. The selling point of this restaurant is the fresh food they serve , caught from a huge fish tank. Their specialty, squid, is kept in a separate tank for a special treat. I actually made a reservation for squid sashimi at another restaurant, but due to the recent poor catch, they said they didn’t have any stock that day, so I couldn’t eat it there , so this kind of restaurant is a rare find. So, the waitress offered to take some photos for me, and gave me a sashimi attraction. I’m sorry for giving the squid such a strong shock . The squid sashimi is beautiful. It’s sticky, yet crunchy, with a unique and exquisite texture that can only be found in fresh swordfish. My first purpose in coming to Fukuoka was achieved. After enjoying the squid sashimi, if you order squid sashimi, you’ll be asked what you’d like the tentacles to be. Another fun treat is tentacle tempura or Choosing fries: I usually order tempura, but this time I tried fried squid , and I prefer tempura… This is the set menu for squid sashimi. The price is per gram, so it came to about 7,400 yen. The price is quite high due to the poor catch , but I was able to enjoy the squid from head to toe. Since I was also here for lunch, I ordered the “Wakae Lunch Set.” It consisted of snow crab miso soup, rice , mixed vegetables, chawanmushi, Wakae mentaiko, a platter of three kinds of sashimi , and a tempura platter. This lunch set came to 2,200 yen. If you watched the previous Sydney edition, don’t you think this set meal is a bargain? The atmosphere is great, and it’s a classic recommended restaurant. It’s also recommended for dinner. Please try it! The next restaurant is in the same Daimyo area as Chikae. It has been featured in the media many times. There are many Hirao Tempura locations, but this is my first time at the Daimyo branch, which is in the same area as Chikae . It can be a little nerve-wracking to enter a restaurant with a few rules, like a tempura restaurant . The location is a 10-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway, and about a 5-minute walk from Chikae. It has good reviews, too. Tempura Hirao apparently started in 1979. The set menu is posted like this. Freshly fried tempura and great value for money. It’s great! There were limited-time menus and notices like this. You buy tickets from the vending machine. There is also a small vending machine inside the store where you can place additional orders. The line continues inside the store , but you can sit and wait inside. The store is like this, and it has a capacity of just under 20 people, so it feels full. We received beer, their specialty salted squid, and tempura sauce. There was also a pouched paper like this to check the product. It arrived, freshly fried. Recently, I’ve seen similar stores in Tokyo with long lines , but the food here is crispier and more delicious than those. The value for money is excellent. It’s no wonder there’s a queue. By the way, this salted squid used to be all-you-can-eat, but due to the recent squid catch shortage, it’s now limited to one plate per person. They ask you in advance if you want to eat it . This is to prevent food waste. I’m worried about the squid catch shortage… So, if you’d like, please give it a try. The next restaurant is the chain restaurant Kisuimaru. I came here for breakfast before visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. This all-you-can-eat squid mentaiko is a popular restaurant. It’s located in the basement of the Tenjin Solaria Stage commercial building, right below Nishitetsu Tenjin Station. Its reviews are a little low , but what I had here was the “Hakata Sesame Mackerel Breakfast Set Meal.” The 1,590 yen sesame mackerel also has different flavors depending on the restaurant, which is fun. This is the “Morning Silver Cod Miso Grilled Set Meal” for 1,690 yen. It’s delicious and great value for money. Both set meals come with an all-you-can-eat takana stir fry and squid and mentaiko. This is a very welcome service during these difficult times due to the squid shortage. I love both “squid and mentaiko” and “takana stir fry,” so there’s no other place with such great value for money . You can also have refills on rice and miso soup. I appreciate the efforts of the chain restaurant. Definitely try it! If you’re in Hakata , you have to try the “bite-sized gyoza,” so I was debating between this restaurant, “Hakata Gion Tetsunabe,” which has been around the Hakata Station area for a long time, but I’ve been there before, so this time I went to “Taketora,” which has a very high rating . The location is a 7-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway. Actually, another reason I couldn’t go to “Tetsunabe” mentioned earlier was because my schedule was packed with so many restaurants I wanted to go to, so I couldn’t make it there. Honestly, it’s a pain to have so many restaurants I want to go to… As for the taste of the gyoza at this restaurant, I had high expectations because the color was so beautiful, but the skin was “crispy” and delicious. As for the filling, it was delicious, but it’s hard to describe, but it had a bit of a “rich flavor”… It was n’t my favorite flavor… Unfortunately, as you can see from the video, the total cost was 2,560 yen, and I was reminded once again that gyoza has a variety of flavors and is very deep … This is also a popular Hakata ramen restaurant, Hakata Ramen ShinShin Tenjin Main Branch. I went there around 9pm, but there was still a long line of more than 20 people. It was founded in 2003. It’s a relatively new restaurant, and the name ShinShin comes from the name of the founder. As an “Ichiran fan,” I have to compare the two to see which is tastier. It’s located here. It’s a 6-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway. The reviews are pretty good. The turnover was fast, and I got in in about 10 minutes. I ordered a “beer” in a mug with the restaurant’s logo. The combination of beer and gyoza , a famous combination at ramen shops, really gets you in the mood. The classic snacks to go with the drinks are “takowasa” (octopus and wasabi) and “chanja,” which are a surefire hit. I’ve come to Hakata ShinShin Ramen. It tastes more like Nagahama ramen. I checked the website later, and sure enough, it said that. As for whether I prefer “Ichiran” or “Ichiran ,” I’m sorry, but I’d rather go for Ichiran. I also ordered “yakimeshi,” but sorry , I forgot to take a picture… What a mess… But it had a nostalgic feel and was just like “yakimeshi,” and it was delicious. Please try it if you like. Next is the Tenjin branch of Furufuru, the birthplace of mentaiko french bread . Apparently they bake it every 10 minutes at all their branches, making it a very popular shop with long queues. The location is here. It’s a 4-minute walk from Tenjin subway station. Shinshin, which we mentioned earlier, is also nearby and has good reviews. For this mentaiko, they use mentaiko from Fukusaya, sandwiching it with mentaiko and butter in a 4:6 ratio. Fukusaya’s mentaiko can also be purchased online, so I’d like to try making it myself. The prices are here. In addition to mentaiko french bread , they also have melon bread and other popular items , and here are the ones I actually bought. The cuts in the mentaiko french bread were apparently the key to its success. It’s certainly easy to portion and eat. The mentaiko french bread had a stronger “freshness” of mentaiko than any I’ve eaten before, and I felt the mentaiko flavor more strongly. It’s delicious. If possible, I would have liked a little more mentaiko and butter. The melon bread also had a crunchy exterior, which is satisfying for those who like crunchy bread. Everything was delicious. Please try it if you have time. Part 1 The last shop is “Okiyo” , a delicious fish shop located in the fresh fish market market hall . It opens at 9am (closed on Sundays), so I came here for breakfast . The retro feel is irresistible. And that’s because it was founded in 1947 (Showa 22)… it’s a great predecessor. The big signboard gives you a sense of history. The location is here. It’s about a 20-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway . The reviews are pretty good. The atmosphere inside the shop is World Heritage-level. There are also tons of autographs of famous people, both old and new, on display . It’s a popular restaurant. First, some warm-up exercises to prepare fish deliciously. This will pry open your still-closed throat in the morning. And then, here comes the Fukuoka treat. Today’s second appearance is sesame mackerel. Each restaurant has a different seasoning, but this one is a pickled type. The seasoning at this restaurant is also excellent. It pairs perfectly with beer. And here is the “Today’s Recommended” menu item, the horse mackerel sashimi set meal. “Ta-da!” It looks great ! There’s no need to explain any more , but it’s fresh and the thick texture is irresistible. You can really feel the good shape of the horse mackerel. And here is the reliable sashimi set meal . It’s nice to be able to eat a variety of fresh sashimi. I’ll drink beer and eat rice in the morning. But, I’m afraid to step on the scale… But I won’t complain. The total came to 5,500 yen. I will definitely be returning, so please give it a try if you have time. That’s all for Part 1 of the Tenjin subway station area . This time we covered area ①, so next time we’ll be introducing the best yakitori restaurant and super popular fish restaurant in area ② , as well as a popular restaurant for Fukuoka’s famous Mizutaki , and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, a tourist attraction in Fukuoka. Please check back next time . Thank you for staying with us until the end.
