Hello everyone. This is Tabizo Channel. I’m here in Fuyacho Takatsuji, about a nine-minute walk from the Shijo intersection in central Kyoto City . Today, I’d like to introduce you to the hotel, yugen Kyoto Shijo, which will open on September 29, 2025. This hotel is part of Polaris Holdings, a company that operates hotels nationwide. This is the first hotel under the yugen brand, and its theme is a modern luxury hotel in Kyoto that embodies the elegance of wabi-sabi . Now, let’s enter the lobby. [The front is decorated with woven art . The Kyoto-esque space, combined with Western-inspired design facilities , exudes a truly modern Japanese atmosphere. This is the check-in counter. On the right, there’s a seated area resembling a concierge desk. I received a thorough check-in here. The attendant provided a thorough explanation and guided me through the room. The hallway leading to the guest rooms had a lovely, Kyoto-esque feel, reminiscent of a back alley. [Music] Now, let’s introduce the rooms . The locks have the hotel logo on them. Let’s touch and enter. Yes, as you enter, you’ll see that it’s designed like a Japanese-style room. There’s a front door, so take off your shoes and enter . This room has tatami like a Japanese-style room. It looks like a Ryukyu tatami mat. And what’s interesting is that it has a tokonoma alcove like a Japanese-style room. [Music] This is what it looks like from the back. There’s a step between this and this, and a wall-mounted TV above. There’s a shoji window. At the back, there’s a traditional Japanese design like a staggered shelf . It’s interesting. And in this spacious living room, there’s a sofa like this, which is quite a stylish design. I think it’s rare. And there’s a large daybed. It looks like a relaxing place. You can stretch your legs and relax while watching TV. And, most of all, this room is great for children. You can sit here and relax, and the kids can have fun. Now, I’d like to introduce the next room . There’s a door and we go further in. This is the bedroom. Today, it’s a twin room. The furnishings have a very Kyoto-like atmosphere. The bedside table is stylishly designed, and the lighting adds to the stylish atmosphere. There are two pillows and cushions, and the bed is quite high. There’s also a TV at this height . The bed height is similar to that of a foreign-owned hotel, so it feels quite plush. This is what it looks like from the back of the room. And here’s an interesting detail: a hidden wooden screen, hidden from the air conditioner . It’s a small touch, but you can really feel the attention to detail. Let’s go further inside. This space has beautiful tile. The stone flooring gives it a luxurious feel. To the left is the bathroom, with a large bathtub. It’s deep and comfortable, and you can stretch your legs out. It also has a rain shower. There’s also a hand shower, and the amenities are here. It feels quite luxurious. It looks like a relaxing, elegant bath. The lighting is beautiful. On the other side, there’s a hallway, and there’s a sink . It’s a suite-style double sink. It’s very convenient, allowing two people to get ready at the same time. The lighting is also beautiful. There’s a magnifying mirror, and here are glasses and hand soap . Let’s open it up. There are all the amenities. A toothbrush , hairbrush, and razor. What is this? POLA skincare, I think, and mouthwash. This is a body towel. And this one says it’s an amenity kit. There are lots of amenities inside. Below is something like this. There’s a hair dryer here, and towels. There are also two hand towels. It has a luxurious feel. And over here is the toilet. This is also spacious . This corridor is quite nice. And here are my luggage and slippers. And this is my bag for going to the large bath? These things are provided. Below is a black safe. And what is this space? I wish there was a hanger-like rod here. There isn’t. And there are towels, bath towels, and this is something like a work uniform. These things are provided. And there’s also a luggage rack. Is there a hanger-like thing over here ? It’s here. It’s a bit luxurious. This is a truly beautiful bathroom and bathroom space. It leads back to the living room . Now, let me introduce you to the minibar area . This is where the drawers were , and here you’ll find the Clec coffee machine. It’s a high-end model. And it’s a DeLonghi kettle, which is really cool, isn’t it? Opening the drawer reveals the coffee cups, which are Noritake. And these glasses are also of high quality. There’s cutlery, and then there’s coffee, from Ogawa Coffee. And this is amazing. This tea is from Nakamura Tokichi, a famous shop in Uji, Kyoto. And this Afternoon Tea Blend coffee. This is from a Sazaby’s shop, right? They use pretty high-quality ingredients. Opening the bottom reveals the refrigerator. There are two complimentary bottles of water . That ‘s nice. And what I think is cool here is the paulownia wood box up above . I’d like to open it up. Here we go. Opening this up reveals organic coffee. Drip coffee from Ogawa Coffee, a famous Kyoto coffee shop, is provided. And every detail is tasteful. This long faucet allows for slow, authentic drip coffee brewing. And there are ceramic items on display . You can really feel the hotel’s attention to detail. It’s tasteful. It takes someone with great taste to have something like this, so I think this hotel is blessed with such people. This window is also very nice. I’d also like to introduce the bedside table . There are two outlets and a USB-C type, and the light can be dimmed. They also have a Bluetooth speaker, which is a nice touch. And the bedroom ceiling is slightly hollowed out, with an open top . It looks a little higher and the space feels very spacious, which I thought was a wonderful touch . It also has a Japanese-style feel. We were also able to enjoy a variety of content on the TV. The large screen is great. Finally, I’d like to take a look at the view from the window , but I’d like to open it up. It’s actually frosted glass, so you can’t see outside . Well, I guess this can’t be helped since it’s a residential area in Kyoto. This was the only disappointing thing, but I’m looking forward to spending some time relaxing in the lovely room . I’ll introduce the other room types later. Next, I’d like to introduce the large public bath. It’s a stylish and luxurious space . There’s a valuables box, and a clothes basket at the back. Let’s go inside. The large public bath is a lovely space with a luxurious feel, paved with stone. This is the cold bath. The lighting creates a beautiful flickering effect. The sauna also has a very cool design. It works like an auto-loyly. It’s very Kyoto-esque. The sound of water and the flickering light. The large bath and sauna were incredibly relaxing and a delightful space. They also have a 24-hour gym. While the facilities are minimal, they offer fitness and weight training. They offer running, biking, stepping, and weights up to 10kg. Next, I’d like to introduce the basic standard room. The standard room is 34 square meters. It also appears to have a bed on tatami mats. The bathroom is similar to the suite we just saw. It has a large bathtub and shower. Looking at the floor plan , it has a double sink, so even the most basic standard room seems luxurious. Next is the largest room, the Signature Spa Suite. It’s a massive 94.9 square meters, and comes with a spacious bathroom. So elegant. It even has a private sauna. It’s great to be able to enjoy your own space however you like. The luxurious rooms are so spacious, it’s a shame to go sightseeing there; perhaps they’re best used for a relaxing stay. Although this hotel only has 58 rooms, there are a wide variety of room types. Many of the rooms have unique features, so I recommend checking out the website for details before making a reservation . For example , you can upgrade to a much larger, more luxurious room by paying just 1,000 or 1,500 yen more than the standard room , so be sure to check the website. Also, the restaurant has not yet opened at the time of opening. It is expected to open around December. Currently, breakfast is served as a bento box, delivered to your room in the morning. Please note that reservations must be made by 4:00 AM on the day of check-in. Currently , there are three bento box options to choose from. Finally, I’d like to introduce the location. It’s about a nine-minute taxi ride from Kyoto Station. If you take the subway, get off at Shijo Station and walk nine minutes from there. I think it took about 10 to 11 minutes at a leisurely pace. It may be inconvenient if you have a little luggage . However, I think it’s a great place for experienced Kyoto travelers. With easy access to Gion, Kenninji Temple, and Hanamikoji Street on foot , this hotel is ideal for leisurely strolls around the city while soaking up the Kyoto atmosphere. Today, I introduced you to Yugen Kyoto Shijo, which will open on September 8, 2025. What did you think? Having stayed there, I was impressed by the hotel’s truly wonderful opening. Its modern Japanese atmosphere, incorporating Western elements into a Japanese base, makes it a truly Kyoto-esque hotel. For example, this guest room features a Japanese -style ambiance with a touch of Western-style sofa, and the design concept is truly wonderful. The hotel also offers a luxurious bath with a flickering light and a stylishly designed sauna, making it a truly relaxing and soothing experience. This hotel is sure to soothe both the fatigue of travel and the everyday . Since this was the opening day, the staff were still getting used to the place, which took some time and caused some stress, but once they get used to it, I’m sure it will become a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Also, depending on the day, you can enjoy great deals on stays at this hotel. I highly recommend checking it out and considering a stay. Thank you for watching today’s video.
