「美味しすぎる…」外国人カップルが初めて大阪のお好み焼きを食べた結果

It was around lunchtime and we wanted to have okonamiyaki which is a very popular dish in Osaka and it’s like a vegetable pancake with meat or seafood and there are plenty of okonamyaki spots in the area. Some are Michelin rated but those usually have crazy long wait times so we just used Google maps to find some place nearby and decided on doori Ichiyaki. It’s tucked away down these stairs but the restaurant is very spacious. There was also no wait time. And the thing that drew me into this spot is that they draw on your okonomyaki. So, we ordered one cheese okonomyaki and one heart-shaped okonomyaki. At some restaurants, you can cook your own okonamiyaki on the table, which I think you can also do here, but for ours, they just made it in the back kitchen and then brought it out once it was assembled. This took about 20 minutes. Then, our waiter drew on the heart-shaped one with mayonnaise. I wasn’t sure exactly what she was going to draw, but it turned out so cute. Look at the little bunny. and she even wrote Osaka and the date. It was the perfect way to commemorate our first time in Osaka together. They also provide extra toppings on the side that you can add like different sauces, bonito flakes, and extra mayo. Both okonamyaki tasted pretty good. I did prefer the regular heart-shaped one, though. The cheese one was a little bit more bland. And I’m sure there are better okonamiyaki spots out there, but this one was just so cute, very novel, and the staff was really nice. And I just love the chill, open ambiance. So, this was a great first meal to have.
