京都人が語る|京都-銀閣寺の庭と紅葉の美|銀閣寺が色づき始め

Hello everyone. It’s Za Kyoto’s Yuru-go. It’s been a while. Today is November 6th. Soon, the autumn leaves, the autumn leaves have started to turn color. I’m going to Ginkaku-ji Temple now. Until recently, it was all green, but it suddenly started getting cold in Kyoto, didn’t it? Finally, it seems to be turning color. I’ve been slacking off on posting videos lately. Well, the time has finally come, the best time. The time of year when the most… videos are played on my channel, the season for autumn leaves has come. So, I’ll be doing it bit by bit from now on. I’m going to take some popular videos. Well, this year, the high season, is… Like last year, it’s a little… The leaves will turn red later than usual. I hope I can show you those things, but until the leaves turn red and the best time to see them arrives, I’ll be filming little by little. When the best time… When the best time is approaching, when it’s approaching, I’ll… I want to, take two or three videos almost every day. That’s what I’m thinking. Oh no, it’s been a while since I’ve filmed a video, and I’m stumbling over my words. Well, this is Ginkakuji-michi Street. That is, the path leading to Ginkaku-ji Temple. And, Ginkaku-ji doesn’t have nighttime light-ups. The gates close at 5:00 PM. And it’s 4:35 PM right now, so in about 15 minutes, in about 15 minutes, I won’t be able to get in. I won’t be able to get in, so I have to hurry. Every time I walk down this street, I’m always curious about this cream puff. I want to eat it, but I’m on a diet, so I can’t eat it. It looks so delicious. That’s that’s it. So, we’ve arrived at Ginkaku-ji Temple. Yes, yes, yes, yes. This is… a map of the grounds. Eh? Ginkaku-ji special… Tour. 20 people each time. Ah, it’s something special. Maybe… someone… Will they teach us? I wonder if they will guide us. Something like that. Well, I don’t need that kind of thing. Well, for now, let’s pay the 500 yen admission fee. Let’s pay and go in. This is… Gates close at 5:00 PM. Descend the mountain by 5:20 PM. Oh, can I stay until 5:20 PM? Entrance. Actually, until I started this channel, I had never been to Ginkaku-ji Temple. I’ve never been here in my life until now. I’ve fallen in love with Ginkaku-ji ever since I started this channel. Ginkaku-ji is so amazing. Don’t you think this moss, this moss is great? I’d pay 500 yen just for this moss… just for the moss. Yeah. Yes. Admission desk, 500 yen for adults. That’s right. One adult, please. Here you go. That’s exact. Thank you very much. Okay, when you enter Ginkaku-ji and pay 500 yen, you get this. By the way, isn’t 500 yen cheap for Ginkaku-ji? Seriously. I’m surprised, because recently, these places… Ah, yes. It seems like the ticket was attached to the bill. The pink ticket was attached under this where you peeled off the ticket, but they peeled it off for me. Yeah, first of all, this. This too. They prepare it every morning. By waking up early. It’s so beautiful. This too. Ginkaku-ji is famous for its autumn leaves, but not only the autumn leaves, but this area right after you enter is also great. Really. It’s incredibly beautiful. Most people just pass right through this area right after entering. I don’t want you to pass it by. This, this moss is also very beautiful. Well, let’s take our time. We’ve already entered, so… We can enter for about 20 minutes, probably. It said “Descend the mountain by 5:20 PM,” so I wonder if we can stay until around 5:20 PM. I wonder if we can enter here. So we can probably stay for about an hour, so let’s all take our time. Slowly. Whenever I film videos of Ginkaku-ji, I usually just go around quickly and end the video with, “Thank you very much.” So today, I’m going to take my time from the very entrance. Because I have time. It’s been a while for me too… I think it’s been about a year. About a year since I’ve been to Ginkaku-ji. I’ve come to the area in front of Ginkaku-ji… during cherry blossom season and when I was walking the Philosopher’s Path, so I came a lot during that time. But entering Ginkaku-ji like this and taking my time, it’s really been a year. Ah, this special exhibition, Ashikaga… Yoshimasa’s room… Will be shown. Is this the 2000 yen one that was written earlier? Also, this garden changes its beauty… when you change the angle like this. Yeah, it’s really beautiful. It’s really good. Sake. Right? Many people, especially foreigners, often just pass by these places. Is it okay to go inside here? It doesn’t seem like you can’t enter, so let’s go in. What, what does it say? This kanji. Yawata City. I don’t really know, but… it seems like a god is enshrined here. So, everyone, let’s bow together. Well, I don’t know if bowing is the right thing to do, but, well, just in case… Um, like… As insurance, so I don’t get told that I’m violating etiquette. Huh. It’s starting to change color a little. Ah, but it’s kind of similar to last year. You know, the autumn leaves suddenly… They don’t turn red beautifully unless it suddenly gets cold. Last year was a warm winter… It was pretty warm and the temperature dropped slowly, so it was pretty much like this… Going crazy… The leaves withered and fell off as if they were curling up. And it ended up turning brown, that’s what the autumn leaves were like last year. So only some parts turned beautiful. It was a shame, but it might be like that again this year. But this, This pond is good. This scene often appears in Japanese textbooks. This scene, It’s been cut out and published. Yeah. Like, Kogetsudai, it seems it’s called Kogetsudai. I wonder what Kogetsudai is. If anyone knows, please write in the comments. I wonder what it is. But it’s amazing. This is nice, and the rocks in the foreground are nice too. It has a nice atmosphere. The color of the mountains is gradually changing. Around here, you know, like, around here. It’s changing little by little. That’s right. The autumn leaves are gradually progressing. Really, little by little. I’m thinking of going around to different places and sharing the current autumn foliage situation. Oh, this is it. If you pay 2,000 yen. It seems you can see these three buildings. The times are fixed, and it says only 20 people per session, first-come, first-served on the day. Um, If you really want to go, everyone, you might want to plan it out properly. Gin Sara? It seems it’s called Gin Sara. This. I didn’t know that. It’s so beautiful, isn’t it? This garden really is. It is. Ah, You can probably see inside this building. It’s beautiful. This kind of thing. Traditional buildings. I can’t get enough of it. Like this, there are hidden Mickeys, like the hidden Mickeys at Disneyland. Look. I wonder what kind of picture this is. I don’t know. Yeah. Hmm. Beautiful. Sesame 300 yen each. For those of you who are foreigners, you might not understand this, but um, you write your wishes on this wooden plaque. I’m sure it’s okay in English too. It’s okay in English. And on the back, you write your name. Your age, and Once you write it, do you put it in here? Over here. If you put it in here, it seems they will hold a memorial service for it. They’ll burn it. So, and the examples are written here. World peace would be nice. Family safety, and so on. It seems like it would be nice if you wrote things like that. This pine tree is beautiful too, really. I’ve been swamped with work lately. Really, if I don’t come to places like this and relax, I can’t keep going. Look, even if I’m taking a picture of the same place, just changing the angle, I was taking pictures from this side earlier, but just changing the angle changes the expression again. It’s too beautiful. People tend to just rush through these kinds of places. Look at places like this, this. Places like this. This is also beautiful. Yeah, it’s nice. You know, my eyesight has been getting worse year by year, I think it’s because of my computer work, but when I measured it today, it was 0.3. And both eyes, Also, astigmatism. So, I think I won’t be able to see these beautiful gardens without wearing contact lenses, which makes me a little sad. I pray that seeing this greenery will heal my eyes and improve my eyesight. It’s beautiful. Look, the autumn leaves are already starting to change color. Well, at this pace, it’s still early… because these are autumn leaves that change color quickly. At this rate, it will be really December… …around the beginning of the month that is the best time, isn’t it? Wouldn’t you say that’s the best time? You can see all the way up like this. People can climb all the way up. Can you see the people up there? Yeah. This is a really beautiful garden. Ginkaku-ji. I’ve only just entered Ginkaku-ji, …right near the entrance, …and I’ve already filmed 15 minutes. If you all take your time and wander around, you’ll easily spend an hour or so here. But I have to leave by 5:20 today, so… …I just need to be mindful of that. I was just too late getting here. You were working until just now, weren’t you? After this, I’m planning to stroll along the Philosopher’s Path again, …and then finally go see Nanzen-ji Temple. Uh, I’m thinking of making maybe two or three videos today. And this one will probably be uploaded first. Everyone turns left because it says “Route this way,” but that’s not right. You can’t appreciate the garden of Ginkaku-ji unless you see it from this side, too. Stop. Oh, it smells so good. The air is clean. Everyone in life… Okay, …according to the route. Let’s proceed. Wow, Sendai Japanese Cedar. It’s 500 years old. Amazing. 500 years old. Seriously? Amazing. To live for 500 years. The outer shell is starting to peel off a little. It’s molting. These kinds of things are often used as charms in shrines, aren’t they? Oh, wait a minute. I just noticed something. Let’s go back a little. Wait, wait. It’s autumn leaves! Look! The color is starting to change a little. Look. It’s gradually turning red. Nice. That’s right. Next up is… …a waterfall. This is… …last month… Sen… Written as “washing moon spring,” what is this called? I don’t know. There’s a waterfall. Ah, it feels humid. It’s really… …soothing my throat. We’re about to enter the dry season. Places like this feel so good. These places are humid and the temperature is low, so it doesn’t turn green that much yet. Like this, everyone, in the center here. Something… …like putting money here is good, right? Is that the idea? People throw coins. Amazing. When did this culture start? Did it start with Instagram, or… …or perhaps… …did it exist 100 or 200 years ago? This… …the moss is too beautiful. Really. And again, like this, from a different angle, …the video we were just watching… …if we review it again… Okay, I’m healed. Yeah, well… I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t been able to upload any videos. Everyone, like this… I’m really happy to be able to visit the famous autumn foliage spots in Kyoto after a long time. It’s so much fun. I’m calling it the “The Kyoto Channel,” but actually, next month, I mean, not next month, I’m planning to go abroad sometime next week. So, I’m calling it “The Kyoto Channel,” but well… I’m going to Malaysia. I’m going to Malaysia, and I was wondering if videos of Malaysia… would be interesting to upload. I’ve been thinking about it, so if you guys are okay with Malaysia videos, and if it’s okay to upload them, please let me know in the comments. Tell me. Even if it’s just like, “I guess I’ll watch it,” that’s fine. This is so beautiful. This place is so beautiful. It’s too beautiful. Yes, yes, yes. That’s right, it only turns out like this if the temperature doesn’t drop properly. The leaves lose their moisture, become dry and crispy, turn brownish, and fall off. It’s a little sad, though. I wonder if the main path is this way. I’m sure the right way is to go up there, but I’m curious about this side for now, so I’ll go this way. Yeah, here too. It’s gradually changing color. This, the moss is amazing here too, …it’s really amazing at Kinkaku-ji Temple. Well, it’s incredibly beautiful. Ah, I wanted to come in the summer. I wanted to see this bright green Kinkaku-ji Temple in the summer. It’s so beautiful. Okay. Here is one of the Seven Gods of Fortune, it says “wealth,” so I guess it’s a god that makes you rich. The God of Fortune. Wisdom, well, it makes you smarter, also music, It seems that the god of music, intelligence, and good fortune enters here. Yeah. So, let’s all do it together. May we become rich, may we become smarter. May we become better at singing karaoke. Okay, with this, I’ll be able to score in the 90s at karaoke starting tomorrow. I’ve been invited to karaoke sometimes lately, but I’m really bad at singing and only score around 68 points. And I can only sing the One Piece opening, …I can only sing the One Piece opening. I really have a small repertoire, so I need to practice. Um… These stairs, instead of just going up, if you look around like this, …if you go up slowly while looking around to the right and left, you might find things you wouldn’t normally notice. Like this. Moss on this tree, for example. It’s so beautiful. Yeah. Well, I’m going to climb up. Yeah, like here. I wonder if water used to flow here. You can find things like that if you climb slowly. You can find them. Yeah. Oh, it’s beautiful. It’s so beautiful. This makes me want to take a picture. That, Yeah, I’m happy when foreigners come. Recently, I feel like more foreigners are aware of Kyoto’s manners. I think there are more people who understand them. In the past, there were some people who didn’t know the manners, I thought. But recently, that’s not the case. Everyone properly, for example, they don’t bring their carry-on bags onto the Kyoto city buses. I think there are more people who follow those rules. I think. Appreciate it. That way, the tourism industry and people who live in Kyoto, I hope we can coexist well. That’s what I think. Wow, this is amazing too, isn’t it? You wouldn’t see things like this, or walls like this,… except in a place like this. Yeah. You don’t really get this kind of texture, you know. You can feel it when you touch it. But please don’t do any graffiti. Recently in Arashiyama, it’s been in the news that there are people doing graffiti on bamboo,… you know. I just want them to stop doing that. This tree is also magnificent. Amazing. It’s like the bamboo path in Arashiyama. Moreover, this sunset and this dark feeling are really… Matching well. Look, Yeah, it’s good. Keep to the left. Well, if it’s written in kanji, you wouldn’t understand. So, This is. It’s a sheer cliff. I really don’t want you to skip this part. Seriously. Isn’t this beautiful too? Beautiful. The air is clean too. Eh, Look at this. Yoshimasa-kou’s water for tea, seriously? Apparently, he used to make tea with this spring water. Just a little I wonder if that’s okay. Oh, the explanation… I have 0.3 eyesight, so… I can’t see it, so everyone please read it. Okay, if I get the camera even closer like this… Can you see it? I don’t know. Something, something is written. Um, by all means, everyone who comes to the site, those with good eyesight, please take a look. Wow, it’s new that they made tea with this spring water. Seriously? They really boil it properly, right? Probably. Yeah. I’m a bit tall so I didn’t notice, but there’s something like this. What is this? So, We will be climbing up here. Ginkaku-ji is unexpectedly voluminous, isn’t it? I can’t believe it’s only 500 yen. This, Moss is covering the entire path. This is also beautiful. . The air is too clean. Wow, The view from here looks really good. Wow, it’s a sunset, The timing is great, everyone. But I wonder if everyone can see the sunset in this, on this screen. What a waste, how did I take it? It looks like a sunset. Like this? No, I don’t think it’s this one. This one, wow. It’s so beautiful. It’s a really beautiful sunset. I kind of want to stop here. But this person. Can look down on Ginkaku-ji from above. That’s amazing in itself. Isn’t it good? Good, isn’t it? Good, a little bit. Let’s leave the sunset behind. Well, Everyone, everyone is taking pictures of the sunset. Somehow the sky, the arrangement of the sky was really nice. No, by “the arrangement of the sky,” I mean the arrangement of the clouds. Clouds, huh. It’s really good. Um, It’s not exactly a clear, sunny day, It’s not like there are no clouds at all. It has some clouds. Wow, I wonder what happened. I wonder why it’s roped off. Recently, bears, you know. There are rumors that bears are coming down to the towns. I heard that several bears have appeared even in Arashiyama. Maybe there are bears here too. I don’t know though. Ah, “I don’t know though” is a phrase unique to people from the Kansai region when they don’t want to take responsibility. For example, when asked, “Is the answer to this problem A, B, or C?” and you’re wondering which one is correct. Well, I think it’s probably C, but I don’t know though. It’s giving advice that I think it’s C, but I don’t want to take responsibility for that advice, so I add “I don’t know though” at the end. I say it. This is… people from Japan and overseas are watching, so to explain briefly, not all Japanese people use this, but Kansai people in Japan use it often. It’s a phrase. This is the Komyo-kei-kuchi. It’s lit up. It’s beautiful, somehow. Huh? The lights are on. What, what’s going on? Wow, I like this sound. Ken-san, after this, a little bit… And probably, spring water is flowing. Can you hear that sound? Listening to the sound of water flowing like this is so soothing. Heave-ho. Alright, alright, let’s move on. It’s lit up here. It’s amazing down there too. So much. Beautiful, Gin… that’s Ginkaku-ji. What you see over there is Ginkaku-ji. Yeah. For some reason, it’s lit up. I wonder why. From around when, I wonder. What? They’re doing construction. Rattling and clattering. A little bit, next to Ginkaku-ji, construction is… Construction is taking place. Somehow, I don’t like it. Can’t be helped. Masu. Yeah. Alright, everyone, before you know it, it’s already 5:10. We have to go down the mountain in 10 minutes. We’ll get scolded. Ginkaku-ji. Until just now there were a lot of elementary school students, on a school trip. I think this is probably the closest you can get to Ginkaku-ji. If you want to get closer and see it in detail, this is probably the best position. Now, in 4K60 frames, I’m zooming in two times. Yeah. Good. Really good. Ginkaku-ji. It’s the best. So, if we just walk straight ahead around here… Is that the end of Ginkaku-ji? Yeah, Restroom. Shop. Etc. But closing time is 4:30, so the shop is already closed. Even though it’s just a shop, doesn’t it have an amazing atmosphere? I want to live in a house like this. This warm light is… It’s really amazing. It is a reproduction of the colorful Gingaku from the Muromachi period. This is When it was built. Reproduction of Ginkaku colors when it was built. The model exhibit is, This? Ah, So, right after Ginkaku-ji was built, Ginkaku-ji looked like this. It’s a bit like frosted glass, so You can’t see it clearly, 100 per… You can’t see it clearly, though. But this is really beautiful, after all. The pattern and stuff. I want to put this kind of door or window in my house. And the autumn leaves here, the moss will turn red. It’s still green, though. Yeah, it’s good. It’s good, it’s good. And this is the restroom. Okay. Exit. Exit. So, we’re heading towards the exit. Yes, again, Ginkaku-ji. Unlike Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji doesn’t have gold leaf. Ginkaku-ji… Ginkaku from silver leaf? Kinkaku-ji is called Kinkaku, so it’s golden, so… It has gold leaf on it, but Ginkaku-ji does not have silver leaf. So, We’ve gone around once. The video time is currently 40 minutes. It’s been quite a while. After all, everyone should allow about 40 minutes to go around once, so you can see it slowly and it’s good. Yes, we’re back to this beautiful place at the entrance again. This gate is really good, isn’t it? This gate. The bones, too. The texture is amazing. This bone is probably… The ones from when it was built are probably different from these pillars. I wonder if they’ve rebuilt it several times. Yeah. Okay. Yes. It says Ginkaku-ji. Yeah. If you take a picture with this pillar, you can tell your friends that you went to Ginkaku-ji. Well, well, well, Ginkaku-ji. Wasn’t it really good? Like, Ginkaku-ji is really that… There are differences in elevation, it’s wide, there’s a lot of green, There’s also a waterfall, the air is clean, and there are some places with high humidity, No matter where you look, It’s perfect. It’s a perfect garden. Well, if I ever become super rich in the future, I want to build a house like Ginkaku-ji, I… Think. So, ah, wow, isn’t this quite valuable? The main gate is closed. The main gate is closed. So, um, It’s saying we have to leave through this door. Um, for people from overseas, including myself, I’m 185cm tall, but tall people, please be careful when you leave. So. Everyone, what did you think of Ginkaku-ji? Maybe it’s not quite the season for autumn leaves yet. I think it will probably take another 2-3 weeks for them to turn red. Thank you very much. Yeah, I think we managed to see pretty much everything today. Or maybe not? I feel like we did a pretty good lap around. Yeah. Well then, How did you all enjoy today’s video? If you enjoyed today’s video, please leave a comment and a like as always. If you give me a like and a comment, I will be sure to reply to your comments. And also, by writing a good comment, everyone who writes them, YouTube will think, “Oh, this video is really great” and spread it to other people, and the views will increase. And if the views increase, I can pay for my transportation costs for today and the Ginkaku-ji Temple fee. If I get more money when I upload a video, I can donate 1,000 yen to Ginkaku-ji Temple. So, everyone, please be sure to like and comment. You can write your comments in your native language. Actually, right after you exit Ginkaku-ji like this, if you turn right, there’s… another shrine there, actually. You can enter it too. It might sound like I’m saying it on the way, but it’s a pretty great place there too, so if you ever come to Ginkaku-ji, why not give it a try? Well then, I’d like to end today’s Ginkaku-ji video here. Thank you everyone very much. Bye-bye. After saying bye-bye, I’m going to take the Philosopher’s Path as it is. I’m going to go take it. So everyone, the Philosopher’s Path video too, please, please watch it! Oh yeah, you can climb up here. It looks like you can climb up. Yagami Yagami Shrine It’s called Yagami Shrine. I wonder if the lights will turn on, the lanterns in the back. I don’t know. Well then, let’s meet next at the Philosopher’s Path. On the Philosopher’s Path, until the autumn leaves come out, I’m thinking it would be nice to talk about my recent situation, recent news about Kyoto, and various other things,… so the next video won’t be like the Ginkaku-ji video, where there’s always something to see, but rather, I’m hoping to make it a video that you can watch slowly and leisurely, while eating dinner, so if you’re interested, please come and watch that video too. So, thank you very much. Bye-bye.
