【ホテルニュー塩原】大江戸温泉最新のプレミアムラウンジ!想像以上の癒やし空間でのんびり
I visited Hotel New Shiobara, operated by Oedo Onsen Monogatari, which was reborn as a premium brand on March 1, 2025. Hotel New Shiobara is located in the Shiobara hot spring resort area in Nasushiobara City. I enjoyed a quiet time surrounded by beautiful nature. My Japanese-Western room, located on the 7th floor of the main building, overlooks the valley and features a spacious 8-tatami Japanese-style room and two single beds. The dinner buffet featured a wide variety of sashimi and steamed shrimp and scallops, which you can enjoy at your own table. After dinner, you can enjoy complimentary beer and wine in the waterfall-viewing lounge while admiring the fantastic view. I’ll share my experience at Hotel New Shiobara, a lodging surrounded by nature that’s perfect for a weekend getaway. Nasushiobara Station is 1hour10 minutes away on the Tohoku Shinkansen Yamabiko. We booked our stay one month in advance. Japanese-Western style twin room with dinner and breakfast — 17,000 yen per person per night I arrived at Nasushiobara Station. There are rental car facilities and several restaurants in front of the station, and a 7-Eleven is about a 5-minute walk away. If you want to bring alcohol or snacks to the hotel, we recommend purchasing them at New Days at the station. We took the 1:50 PM shuttle bus to the hotel. It’s a 40-50 minute ride to the hotel, so be sure to use the restroom beforehand. The bus was comfortable and we passed through the popular tourist spot, Senbonmatsu Ranch. The scenery changed dramatically as we left the city. Our accommodation this time was Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium “Hotel New Shiobara”. We arrived 30 minutes earlier than check-in time. There are plenty of sofas so you can relax before check-in. The main building is the front desk on the second floor. This is your current location. The dining area is on the first floor, which is the restaurant buffet area. You can also use this same elevator to go to the first basement floor for the large public bath. It is a large rock bath with a sauna. Next to the women’s bath, there is a connecting passageway. If you cross this, you will reach the building called Yusenkyo on the other side of the river. If you go down to the first basement floor, you can use the large public bath. Inside, there is a semi-open-air sauna and there are several types of baths. I would recommend this bath. One floor up, on the first floor, there is the “Waterfall View Lounge.” Near this bath, there is the “After-bath Lounge.” so please drop by when you go to the bath. Kid-sized yukatas are also available, so the whole family can enjoy wearing matching yukatas. Now, let’s check into our room for tonight. Hotel New Shiobara is divided into three buildings, with Yusenkyo being the only one located on the other side of the river. The main building standard Japanese-Western twin room was very bright with a large window. By the window, there are two single beds and an 8-tatami Japanese-style room. By the entrance, there is a wash corner, bathroom, and toilet. Hair dryers are available for rent at the front desk, so please borrow them in advance if you wish to use one. There is no partition in the changing area. The bathroom was very well maintained, but the bath has a very retro design. The toilet has a washlet function, but it is narrow inside so please watch your step. There is an electric kettle and a refrigerator. The fluffy cushions were very comfortable. There are two outlets in the Japanese-style room and an extension cable is convenient. There was also an outlet in the bathroom. The pillow was of a good height and firmness. We came to the “After-Bath Lounge” in the main building. There is a manga corner in the back which is open until midnight. It was very crowded in the evenings. Here they serve soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, and ice cream. There was Chilean red and white wine on offer. They also serve highballs, lemon sours, and draft beer. The idyllic scenery is soothing♪ Everyone will want to cross this bridge. We are currently inside the bridge. We have arrived at the “Takimi Lounge”. The Takimi Lounge is open from 2:00 pm before check-in. There is a beer server and wine here too. They also serve soft drinks and coffee. There are many seats but it is a spacious area. The seats face the view, so you can enjoy the view without worrying about your surroundings. This is what it looks like when you go out to the terrace. You can gaze at the waterfall and the faint scent of the hot springs is soothing. Let’s have a beer right away! Let’s drink some beer! It poured perfectly! The foam is beautiful. The wooden deck terrace is stylish. Let’s check out the terrace seats. You can relax while listening to the sound of the waterfall and the breeze. Cheers! Drinking beer from lunchtime is the best! We arrived at the dinner venue. You choose your dinner time when you check in. We chose the 5:00 PM option. There is unreserved seating and there are about 480 seats. We’re going to eat a lot! The salad section is spacious and great! Dressings include green shiso, Caesar, sesame, and Chinese. They also have mozuku seaweed and the local specialty yuba. For sashimi, there was salmon, tuna, and sweet shrimp. Everyone loves the sushi section , and the staff keeps refilling it. The chewy and juicy xiaolongbao were filled with plenty of juice. Chawanmushi (hot egg custard). Choose your favorite ingredients and steam them in a bamboo steamer at your seat. You’ll want to be greedy and pile them on top. The local dish is yakisoba, with soup poured over it. Pour the hot soup over it and it felt like ramen. Speaking of Tochigi, gyoza is a must-try! “Kenta Gyoza” from Utsunomiya is lined up. Freshly fried tempura. The seasonal bamboo shoot tempura was soft and delicious! The shrimp tempura was also crispy and delicious! It was my first time seeing chive soba, and it’s a local dish. There’s a fried food section . Soft drinks are free, but alcohol is charged. Baby food is also available! The first group brought these dishes. Hot spring water is provided for steaming. Make sure to prepare steamed dishes in a bamboo steamer. Let’s eat! Special orders include luxurious snow crab. These can be made up to a few days before your stay, so don’t forget to order! Bite-sized yuba (dried tofu skin) with a creamy and refreshing taste. She tried the fried gyoza. It was filled with plenty of chives and went well with the tartar sauce. The steak was richly seasoned, making it the perfect snack. The mapo tofu with yuba and chive onion were particularly delicious. The yuba chive onion was fluffy and delicious!! The Yuba Mapo Tofu was nicely spicy, and the sashimi was fresh and delicious. The steamed hot spring water was a delight, and you could choose between sesame or ponzu sauce. It was steamed just right. First, the shrimp. The tempura was fresh and crispy, but delicious! The shrimp was also delicious. The beef curry was rich and delicious, with chunks of meat! The dessert section had everything from cakes to fruit and creative dishes. The steamed pudding was superb. There was a line at the all-you-can-eat Haagen-Dazs, which was like a dream. I got my dessert. For dessert, you’ll want coffee! Tiramisu and matcha roll cake. The tiramisu was infused with coffee and was authentic. ★I also found a Häagen-Dazs corner in the next room. ★ Definitely delicious! The crispy homemade apple pie with ice cream on top was also delicious. After dinner, I took a look at the game corner in the hotel. There was a bed in the perfect location for watching TV. Time to relax and laze around. After taking a break, we were ready to go to the hot spring, which we had been looking forward to. Yusenkyo has one indoor bath and four semi-open-air baths. The vending machines had many drinks that were not available in the shop. There was a wide variety, which was great!! All the drinks are perfect after sweating in the hot springs. After my bath, I went to the Takimi Lounge for a beer. Oedo Onsen Premium offers a premium lounge as a level of luxury. The atmosphere was particularly good at night, and it was a wonderful space. Conversation flowed and time passed by quickly. The lights by the windows were dimmed, and stylish background music was playing in the lounge, creating a lovely adult atmosphere. Drinks are served at the Takimi Lounge until 10pm, but you can still sit on the sofas and relax afterwards. The waterfall is lit up at night. You can bring your own snacks into the lounge. We looked at the introduction booklet for Oedo Onsen Monogatari and chose our next hotel. Time flew by as we had fun. Thanks to the hot springs, my body remained warm even after I got out of the bath. It was very quiet last night, and we were able to get a good night’s sleep. It was a bit chilly in the room in the early morning, even with the air conditioner on, due to the cold weather. Breakfast is a buffet featuring both Japanese and Western cuisine. The seafood bowls, which you can customize yourself, were so popular that there was a long line. There are also traditional side dishes you can’t miss when enjoying Japanese food. This is pork cutlet ochazuke — rice topped with pork cutlet and green tea poured over it. Seeing recipes like this just makes me want to dig in! It might be a good idea to add some seafood. This breakfast was delicious ! When reheated at the table, the fish oil made it juicy and surprisingly delicious. “How to use the grill” In addition to milk, there are cereal cakes and fruit. I tried adding frozen mango and cereal to yogurt. “Freshly baked bread corner” French toast is being baked at the counter. The bread looked delicious. My morning plate is complete! The buffet is overflowing with food without considering balance. We had salmon and mackerel. *The morning public bath closes at 9:00 AM, so please be careful about timing your breakfast. tuna, negitoro (minced fatty tuna), scallops, shrimp, and cod roe. The hash browns were crispy and delicious! The sausages were crisp and delicious. The whipped cream on the French toast was not too sweet and healthy. Finally, we visited the “Takimi Lounge,” which was my favorite part of this stay. The hotel staff were cheerful, friendly, and provided excellent service. 余計なことですが箸の持ち方お二人とも上手いですね。派手なマニキュアでなく
料理に集中できました。これからもよろしくね。
