Omi Beef Striploin 🔥 One of Japan’s Great Wagyu Brands in Osaka

Omi Wagyu cooked on a teppan with a view of Osaka’s skyline.

This was our visit to a Teppanyaki counter inside the Plaza Hotel Osaka in Juso.

From the 19th floor we could see the city stretch out, but once the steak hit the iron plate our focus switched directly to the main star of the show.

Omi Beef is one of Japan’s three historic Wagyu brands, raised in Shiga Prefecture for over 400 years. When we ate it, the fat melted at a lower temperature than most Wagyu, giving it a lighter feeling despite the heavy marbling.

It became less about the view and more about the beef being trimmed, then melting on the teppan.
