And the brilliantly scattered hanafubuki and the scattered cherry blossom petals fill the outer moat of the park, and the “flower raft cherry blossoms” are truly spectacular.
The cherry blossoms in Hirosaki Park, which are ephemeral and still beautiful, are famous as the best in Japan.
園内にある約2600本の桜は、日本最古級のソメイヨシノ、樹齢100年超えのソメイヨシノ400本以上が咲き乱れる。
2026年は4月10日から開かれる弘前さくらまつりの時期には、弘前城と満開の桜、そして岩木山の競演が楽しめる。
また夜にはライトアップされ、幻想的で風情ある夜桜に見る人は心を奪われる。
そして華やかに舞い散る花吹雪や、散った桜の花びらが公園外堀を埋め尽くす「花筏桜」はまさに絶景。
儚く散って、なお美しい弘前公園のサクラは日本一と名高い。
