It’s been a while since I’ve been back to Ueno, but was in the area and checked out the Ameyoko area on a weekend early evening. While there were a lot of tourists in the area, it wasn’t as crowded as I expected, and was really a pleasant night out. Seems that there are still many locals who frequent the shopping area, as there are many good deals of food and good in the open air market. For sure one of the spots I’d recommend in Tokyo for a good mix of shopping and a night out.
