This time, we’re featuring SAKO, a beloved sandwich shop in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture. For over 60 years, it’s been a warm and welcoming spot, especially loved by the community at the Iwakuni U.S. military base.
This is actually our second time filming at SAKO — the first video we made last year has been viewed over 850,000 times! Thanks to that, many people from all over Japan came to visit after watching it on YouTube. Thank you so much!!
In this new video, we join a big party to welcome her friend Paul-san, who came all the way from the U.S. Delicious BLT sandwiches and pork cutlet sandwiches. The tempura was also very popular. And by chance, we also met Kobe-san, who is currently cycling around Japan — we captured that moment, too!

山口県岩国市にあるサンドウィッチ屋さん「SAKO （サコ）」。岩国米軍基地の人々に60年以上愛されてきた、あたたかい雰囲気のお店です。実は、昨年に続いて今回が2度目の撮影！前回の動画はなんと85万回以上再生され、多くの方がYoutubeを見て、全国からSAKOさんを訪ねてくれたそうです。ありがとうございます！！今回は、アメリカから友人のPaulさんが来日されるとのことで、大人数でのパーティーにお邪魔しました。美味しいBLTサンドウィッチにポークカツサンド。天ぷらも大人気でした。さらに、自転車で日本を旅しているKobeさんとも偶然出会い、その様子も撮影できました。オーナーのミッシーさんの毎日は、出会いにあふれていてとても楽しそう。そんな素敵な日常を、ぜひ動画で感じていただけたら嬉しいです✨
