Goodness GRACIOUS what a trip! I don’t normally attempt roadtrips in Japan during winter cuz of the driving difficulty, and the fact that I hate the cold but this trip might’ve just changed all of that! Yamagata, Miyagi and little bit of Tochigi is all you need in winter for some life changing scenery apparently! Excited for the next season 🌸

First going on about nuclear power plants and then your room is "not bad, not great"? I feel like that's not a coincidence. Anyway my day was much the same, until I saw a new Hannah video had dropped. That geiger counter instantly went down from 3.6 to around zero.

Why haven't we seen Chris much lately? I subscribed to this channel because I wanted to see him, but it's been boring not seeing him recently. We're eagerly awaiting his return as a Waterworld cast member. We're looking forward to his creative work! 🥰❣️
Try Ginzan in summer, less crowds, you can easily walk from the car park at the top of the hill and the scenery is still amazing. Hopefully you can also visit Risshaku-ji Temple if you come again.
羽黒山のPagodaは杉林の中に突然現れる感じで、京都のPagodaとはちがう趣があって素晴らしいです、山形で好きな景色の一つです。
銀山温泉はすごい人ですね、昔は数人の宿泊客が散策している程度でした、銀山から羽黒山に行くまで蕎麦がおいしい店がたくさんありますのでレンタカーがお勧めです。宿泊はまだ観光客が多くない肘折温泉（Hijiori)をお勧めしますが、日本海まで車で行って湯野浜温泉まで行くのもいいですが、冬は山形の海の近くはブリザードがすごいので雪道が苦手の方は冬は避けたほうがいいかもしれません。
日本人の私よりも日本を楽しんでそう。
今回も素晴らしい場所に行ってるね。過去も含めこれだけ日本の素晴らしい場所に行けるのは日本人でも羨ましい限りです。これからも日本を楽しんで下さい。音のする枕の中身は小豆のような気がするな。
13:27 That was pretty much my exact reaction to my first snowfall experience in Katsuyama, Fukui in February last year! I'm sure the locals thought the Aussie in their midst was insane!
The sight of a five-story pagoda in the snow is incredibly magical and creates a sacred atmosphere.
Bathing in an open-air bath while gazing at the snowy landscape must be an absolutely wonderful experience.

山形県は家内の故郷です。見るべき場所、食べるべき美味しいものがたくさんあります。しかし、、、山形県はあまり自慢しない県民性なんですよ。ひとことで言うと宣伝ベタなんです。積極的に宣伝しようとしないんです。
山形にもオーバーツーリズムかよ😩ぶっちゃけ東北にはあまり来て欲しくない。
蔵王も銀山温泉も羽黒山も。
山形は東北人にとってとても神聖な場所。
何様か知らないけど、文句たれるならそれなりの所に泊まって下さい。

If you live in the United States, Mt. Bachelor, Schweitzer and Wifefish have snow monsters too.
Great trip! I've finally been to Tohoku for the first time last autumn. We went to Yamadera and Ginzan Onsen while in Yamagata and I was also not too impressed by the onsen town. Maybe because the snow was missing… but when I look at those crowds, I'm not sure if I enjoyed it much more in winter. Smaller than expected, but definitely beautiful nonetheless.
Hopefully on the next trip to the area we can explore more. I really want to go to Mt.Haguro and also Zao looks really spectacular 🙂

11:25 Winter tires aren't more useful only in snow, they also overall perform better than summer tires in cooler temperatures ❄
Ah so cool to see how the Zao looks in winter. Sadly this amount of snow causes for some healthy trees to much load.
I was there with a group in may. So we could only be told the problem the forest has.
Due to a few black Cloud approaching we couldn't take the lift up. So we that some 90 min hike to the halfway point.
