「春海に祈る大旗 ～能登町小木・とも旗祭り～ 」

石川・能登半島の北東部に位置する能登町小木。
古くからイカ釣り漁が盛んに行われる港町です。
「とも旗祭り」は約20ｍの大のぼり“とも旗”を掲げた９つの船が、
湾内をかけめぐり航海の安全と豊漁を祈る春の祭りです。
祭りに使う”とも旗”は毎年、
９つの町会の子供や大人が手作業で作ります。
令和６年能登半島地震により、昨年は祭りの開催が中止に。
町や港に震災の傷が残る中、住民たちの復活を願う声を受け、
２年ぶりの開催が決定しました。
祭りには地元の漁師も参加します。
50年以上漁師を続ける１人の男性。
震災で自身の船が水没するも、
新たに船を購入し再スタートを決めました。
「漁師にとってとも旗祭りはかけがえのないもの」
大漁と、そして復興を祈って…。
能登の人々の祭りに向けた思いを番組では描きます。

Ogi in Noto Town is located in the northeastern part of Ishikawa’s Noto Peninsula.
It is a port town where squid fishing has thrived since ancient times.
The Tomobata Festival is a spring festival where nine boats, hoisting massive 20-meter banners known as Tomobata, race around the bay to pray for safe voyages and bountiful catches.
The banners used in the festival are handcrafted every year by children and adults from the nine neighborhood associations.
Due to the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, last year’s festival was canceled.
While the scars of the disaster still linger in the town and port, the decision was made to hold the event for the first time in two years, answering the residents’ heartfelt calls for its revival.
Local fishermen also participate in the festival.
One man, who has been a fisherman for over 50 years, saw his own boat submerged by the earthquake but decided to purchase a new one and make a fresh start.
“For fishermen, the Tomobata Festival is irreplaceable,” he says.
Praying for a great catch, and for recovery…
