あと3日で閉店。27年続いた900円バイキングうどん屋の最後の営業に密着した。

Sorry to keep you waiting. It’s lonely, isn’t it ? We’re covering the last three days of a
long-standing diner that’s been around for
27 years ! Tempura, side dishes, curry, and more—a
great buffet of affordable side dishes! I’m thrilled to have this first-time
experience. I want people to come in droves for the
finale , but what kind of day will it turn out to
be…? To the main story 5:18 Harano, Chikushino City, Fukuoka
    Prefecture Filming?
Another crazy early start . Matsuya Hara Branch. The owner : We’ve decided to close the shop at the
end of this month . My head still can’t quite wrap around
it. But what I just said is our reality . All six udon shops around us have closed down. I thought maybe we
could be the winners among them, but we
just couldn’t make it. To avoid causing trouble for our staff and
customers , we figured it’d be better to cut our
losses at some point . That’s how we reached our final decision. 2 About four or five years ago , I was working in construction. My uncle ran a udon shop called “Matsuya
Udon” in the Amagi area . He invited me to join him in running the
    udon shop , and that’s how I started. Mizuki-san (Staff) – The owner’s classmate . Do you
always start prep at this time? Usually, weekdays are still slow. I drink coffee , kill some time, then get
to work . Honestly, no one imagined the local
economy would cool off this much . But once it became reality, I think it’s important to accept it and
keep going without causing trouble for
others . Due to financial difficulties and other
reasons , we decided to close the shop at
the end of September 2025. Matsuya Hara Main Store, Hara , Chikushino
City, Fukuoka Prefecture . A beloved udon shop in the local community
for 27 years. We follow the final day of
operations at ‘Matsuya Hara Store’. 6: 00 The interior exudes a sense of history . Preparing the rice. Filling the udon boiling pot with water. Curry is served buffet-style,
all-you-can-eat . Preparing the noodles . The udon dough kneaded the previous day
is stretched under pressure. Dusting with flour . Rolling out the dough
sheet with a rolling pin. Cutting the noodles . Longer sections of udon noodles are cut
in half. Noodle cutting complete. Boiling the noodles . Chilling them in cold water. The initial boiling of the udon is
complete. is complete. Compared to the initial fresh water, this
method yields tastier udon . Place noodles in bags to prevent drying If noodles are exposed to air, they become hard and turn yellow . 8: 41. Well, I’m at that age now. I think I’ve been allowed to live a
reasonably good life. There are all sorts of events in a
lifetime , you know. That’s part of the fun, I suppose. Preparing coleslaw . Coleslaw complete. Preparing udon salad . Frying carrot tempura. Onion tempura . Pumpkin tempura. Green onion tempura. Lotus root tempura . Tempura complete . Thanks to the chef’s kindness , we get
to taste the freshly fried Tasting the
tempura Arranging the tempura on the table. We’re not serving it today but sweet
potato tempura is popular, I guess . Personally , I recommend pumpkin
and onion. The tempura is all-you-can-eat at the
buffet . My wife … Staff: Is she still alive? No, no, no . How many years ago was it? Twenty years ago. That’s about right. It was a bit early. They did remove the cancer cells . But then it had spread elsewhere. After the second After that second
surgery, it went downhill. Yeah, it really gets you down. When your spirits sink, your energy drains
away . Then illness finds its way in where it
shouldn’t . You absolutely have to hold onto your
energy . Keep smiling. Smile, smile . First and
foremost, smile . It started out as a regular udon shop. There was a period when buffets were
trendy. There were five or six places like this
around here Since the same pattern
wouldn’t work , we switched to buffet . But then we started running a slight
deficit . So we quit. I don’t know if saying “it can’t be
helped” is good or bad, but you have to accept reality. There’s
nothing else you can do . Maybe we should put some up inside too . Thank you . Preparing the buffet tables . Homemade side dishes from the shop .
All-you-can-eat at the buffet. The owner’s daughter and granddaughter . Aren’t they cute? Matsuya’s only treasure. 『 Hateruma Shuzojo Awanami』 Turning on the shop lights . Want something to drink? Open at 11:00 Established 1998 Matsuya Main Store Open Business Hours Weekdays 11:00-14:00

Kyushu National Museum . It’s delicious. Staff: Mizuki-san Is it a slow day for
customers today ? It’s pretty quiet. I wish we’d get a rush at the end. As lunchtime approaches, customers
gradually increase. After ordering, take your favorite side
dishes from the buffet . The popular curry rice . Replenish the tempura. Burdock root tempura soba. Burdock root tempura udon . Your order is ready. Shrimp tempura udon
and meat udon. The noodles are neither too soft nor too
firm. The broth has a nice kelp flavor and is delicious. A gentle taste, very tasty . Perilla leaf tempura. Since it was my
first time having perilla leaf tempura, I’m happy to have had this new experience. Shrimp Tempura Udon – ¥1,100 . The broth has a slightly sweet flavor
with a strong kombu dashi base . This simple, gentle broth is absolutely
delicious… The shrimp tempura served on a separate
plate is freshly fried and crispy. The homemade udon noodles have a nice
chewiness, absorb the broth well, and have
a smooth texture . Fourth time? Fifth time ? The vegetable curry is sweet and tasty.
Kids love it too. The tempura buffet is popular . An easy tempura bowl is ready. Matsuya’s wildly popular tempura offers
many ways to enjoy it. Local regulars come in . Tempura, side dishes, curry, etc .
Everyone takes as much as they like . Meat soba and meat udon . Kitsune udon: ¥600. Sorry to keep you waiting. Local (baseball) team Some folks are from Oita. They’ve been coming since it was around
650 yen . Prices kept rising along with inflation . Staff: I heard they’re closing. I wondered why , and when I came today , there was no fruit at all . They always have fruit. It’s sad, isn’t it? Meat Soba: 1100 yen . Easy for kids to eat . Sweetly seasoned
meat and broth. The meat’s umami melts into the gentle,
savory broth… The sweetly seasoned meat is juicy, its
umami deepening with each bite. The fragrant soba noodles have a smooth
texture and pair perfectly with the broth! Buffet Curry: Easy for anyone to enjoy, young or old . A
curry where the sweetness of vegetables
seeps through. You can savor soba and curry together .
Matsuya’s buffet is irresistible. Before, within a certain range, they used to place
things like vegetables and fruit near the
    entrance . Right after you enter , there’s a
display case. Before, they used to fill it up quite a
bit . But of course, the flow of customers changed a
bit, and they stopped placing vegetables like they
used to. Staff) Thank you for 27 years of hard
work! Thank you so much. Staff) Looking back, what kind of 27 years
were they? Looking back, time flies like an arrow. It ended in the
blink of an eye. I enjoyed communicating with customers and
employees. Memories from these 27 years… I’ve been with him since kindergarten , elementary school, middle school , and
high school . Even after graduation when there was a
little gap, we’ve been together ever
since. I don’t think many people get to live that kind of life . Being able to live
that way is truly wonderful. It’s only because he was there that we’ve
lasted this long. To our customers, thank you so much ! You’ve been a huge help!
