I heard that the deer who was captured in Osaka, is being held hostage there. The Nara Governor has said that he will not allow Mr. Shika to return home to Nara Park.
This is extremely upsetting. I am thinking about flying to Nara right now and protesting outside the Mayor's office. Please! I need to know that the Japanese community are doing something to save this Sacred Deer and allow him to return home to his family.
My heart is bleeding and the tears won't stop when I think about Mr. Shika being cruelly refused the right to return home. I have barely eaten or slept since hearing this terrible news.
I am not the only foreigner who is watching this story closely. There is a big network of foreigners who watch all videos about Nara deer, and discuss Nara Deer among themselves closely. Therefore please know that this incident might seriously damage Japan's reputation overseas.
I thought you had become a very compassionate and humane people. Then I hear of such heartless behaviour from the Nara Prefecture Governor.
The Japanese must protest on behalf of this sacred deer to show that the cruel behaviour of Governor Yamashita is an anomaly in your national character.
